Haha, good luck. Not to scare you, but a kid with the skunk2 dp and 3.5" intake hit 207; but you're running a smaller 2.5" dp with a cat and a slightly more restrictive intake. I say 199~ maybe 201, if you're lucky

Yeah I have actually been debating on swapping for the 3" full race again... it's going to be loud either way, might as well utilize my options. I am going 3.5" intake eventually anyways. Gotta decide before I buy a catback.

You're going sc, stick with what you have. The beta tester made good power on a similar setup. I'm just saying that na, you won't make too much above 200. Don't doubt your setup.

Are you going to have your bumper cut with your catback?

PIX or it didn't happen!

I got a video of me doing some heavy-ish throttle post-DP and CAI but it is so hard to hear anything. I will upload it today and see if it help y'all at all.

psunuce, I recommend getting an intake before you S/C gets here.. everyone talks about how they might collapse the stock box. The AEM one is nice, easy enough to install and it pulls in really cool air. I have seen as low as 4F over ambient and normally about 10-15 on cruises.

Speed, did you get those new datalogs?

I am contemplating getting a CAI (who needs $$ in the bank). What is the impact on engine noise?

Normal driving is nearly the same, just a bit deeper.. at WOT it's a totally different sound. REALLY deep. I recommend! Can be had for about $205 too

Speed, I will see what I can do for you!

Where can you find it at for $205? And I am looking more at sound volume impact. I am OK with a deeper sound.

www.lightningmotorsports.com
Part# 21-716C

The install takes about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on your mechanical ability. It's a pretty straight forward install.. the most difficult part is pulling the stock resonator tube out.

Sound wise: You wont see any difference in normal cruising. The motor comes through more crisp vs hearing the valves a-workin'. When you give it mild throttle you'll hear the motor is deeper and growls a bit. It is indeed louder but not by an annoying amount.. When you go WOT it will make the motor sound completely different.. significantly louder and deep. It's a genuinely pleasing sound.. it really reminded me of the deeper tones you'd hear from a V6 (I am not hyping up the ILX either.. I have driven V8s half my life lol), it's a nice difference.

Because you're going S/C though this thing pulls ambient air REALLY well but it has panels all around it so it's in no way exposed to the elements.. It ends up being encased directly behind the foglight which is right behind the air dam. I am very little over ambient.. just went WOT for a new tune, it is 62F out and it was pulling 64F at WOT.. sorry if all that is more info than you wanted, this intake is just really nice.

I am showing a lot of restraint in not ordering the eibach sway bars and reissuing my order for the exhaust lol... I am thinking about what you said about being bored though. I imagine it is better to appreciate each mod on it's own vs just throwing it all on at once!

I personally think you should throw your intake on. No reason you shouldn't enjoy that blissful sound!

Can you get that spoiler we found for like 260 something?

Of course! Modding is rather expensive (s/c, CAI, RSB, and LSD = ~$6k) The engineer in me loves the thought of tweaking the car to obtain better performance. It is one of the reasons why I love honda/acura. I appreciate a solid, robustly designed product, and the ILX has great potential with a couple of tweaks.

The little kid that just doesn't like having to pay for it. But it will be worth it in the end.

I think that it will be a totally different animal with those mods!

Mid-200 whp will be more than enough for a daily driven car I feel. And, I am with you on the reasoning to love Honda/Acura.. People have ran over 100,000+ miles with the S/C on and no issues! That's impressive cause a good lot of performance cars & especially modified cars won't go without issue that long.

I am with you on the $$$ part though.. Buying the S/C I was just thinking the whole time "what could I of spent that money on" haha.. trip to Europe being one!

P.S. don't install your RSB upside down like some of the knuckle heads around here. :gheylaugh:

HeelToe emailed me a few days ago saying my order was sent to CT and now they're just waiting to hear back from CT to get an ETA on my kit.

Still debating wether I wanna go ahead and get the aftercooler since it's going to go under the blower. I am waiting to see more info on the IMT kit.
