my parts got delivered (yay!) but everything on hold as of right now (boo..)..
got some family stuff to take care of outside the country. Hopefully I can still post from my ipad from there.

my parts will be collecting dust at the front door til I get back. Eibach front sway, progress rear sway, whiteline adjustable spherical endlinks, tein advance, and aem intake. It was going to be a fun little weekend project tomorrow but now its gonna have to wait. I'm dreading the 15-16 hour flight to south korea.

worst thing about all this, the north korean leader is a lunatic and his stupid need for attention.

i actually had them last week...
I was gonna just post pics after I installed them and see if anyone noticed but its too hard to keep it a secret, especially now that I can't throw them on for two weeks hahahaha

I'm also waiting on my wheels setup. My parts dealer guy will be having the rims and tires ready for me for when I get back. I need to buy the TPMS sensors before putting the tires on so the stupid dash doesn't yell at me about having no air in my tires.

Yea, the intake is a priority as I need to order mine based on your fitment feedback. FYI, you'll need flashpro in order to have the intake work properly. There is hesitation issues at WOT without a proper tune.

Same for me. I'm waiting to order mine based on how this turns out. I wasn't aware that Flashpro was necessary though.

The intake won't do much by itself, it'll just be suction noise coming from the engine bay. I'll probably order the flashpro when I get back. Since the weather is getting a lot nicer, I'll start driving the track suby around while I work on the ILX. I just got my suby tuned too, so Ive been dying to take it out to the track.

S/C, Aftercooler and FP for now.. Over time I'll add an intake and all that. Wondering what companies are gonna release intakes.. I figured 5K in purchases is good enough to call it a day on my power mods..

Wish I knew more about modding! Although, I'd hate myself to mess up my car.

I just would like a stiffer suspension. The car rocks likes

That's my main thing rite now, suspension noise along with the loosy goosy feel.

Personally, after that, the muffler/exhaust noise for a daily driver is annoying. Needs to be toned down.

How is Acura when it comes to modifying your ride and honoring warranty claims?

Just as any manufacturer.. By law they have to be able to make a valid claim your modification is the cause of damage.

Actually that is not true. Example if you mod the air induction system and you later have an engine failure, while under warranty, they can deny warranty coverage. It would then be up to you and your very expensive legal team to prove in court that your mod did not contribute to the engine failure. If you increase the HP on your engine and you have any driveline failure they can void your warranty. I've seen it done by other manufactures. Dodge does it all the time to their Cummins turbo diesel truck owners based on almost any mod made under the hood from the air box to electronic remapping. That's why I asked the question on this Acura site. Did not know if dealers take a blind eye to all the mod's you guys are talkin about?

How did what I say become false.. You just said the same thing but a little verbose there..

You define "valid" as a CAI blew my transmission or suspension up? Right... Ill see you in court.

There is no law that requires a manufacture to stand behind there warrant if you mod your vehicle. They just void the warranty and tell you that you are out of luck. "You" have to prove in court that your mod did not cause the failure. It is now on you to provide the proof, this is a huge difference between what you are saying and what i am saying the manufacture does not have to prove anything. it would cost a lot of money to prove and pay for the legal fees. Like I said I've seen this happen with Dodge trucks being modded. My question was has anyone seen Acura do this?

Think about what you stated! What every time some YOYO comes up with some new mod and say the engine shoots craps Acura has to duplicate the mod the YOYO made and prove this did not cause the engine failure? Right! The burden of proof is on the modifiers dime.

We had suppliers that had mods for the Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel engine where something had gone wrong and caused an engine problem, Dodge voided the truck owners warranty and the after market company said it was not their part that caused the problem. Truck owner was caught between two company's with deep pockets. Truck owner was screwed.

To answer your question the way you want it to be answered it's highly unlikely they'd warrant my motor after the SC..

...but THE LAW won't let them say "oh well your SC broke your brakes" or radio... Ect ect ect.. Because they have to make a VALID determination that mod caused the damage in question.

Totally agree but if your transmission goes tits up they might give you some shit. Dodge is crazy on the truck stuff. Chevy not so much with the Vette's. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with Acura's attitude? Not trying to start a fight. Communicating on the Internet loses something in the translation.

I understand, it's gonna be a case by case thing.. Like for the 8th generation Civic they had a 3rd gear issue that modded and stock cars were seeing so they still fixed the transmissions.. Even people who had superchargers. I feel that it would be based on the information Honda(Acura) had from multiple users. Like say with Ford they voided warranties on power strokes with tunes that increased boost because every motor they got with the same issue were all tuned for more boost.. Therefore they were justifiable in knowing say 10 aftermarket tuned Ford trucks were all coming in with a blown head gasket.. Therefore the mod obviously caused it.

It's gonna be something like that, if it makes sense

I have heard some dealerships will even write it up as if the mods aren't there.. Dunno how true that is.

Sorry if I came off rude.

Bad battery, alternator, conneciton somewhere, ECU fried.. could be a number of things. Have your dealer collect the car and repair it.. Be prepared to document any conversations/services they have to do in the case you have to use the lemon law if the problem carries on.

yea, be prepared to document everything and don't rely on word of mouth conversations. All agreements should be written
