I would be worried about cutting it the wrong shape and having to waste film

Ive seen lots of people install on most my cars and it doesnt look hard, but I hate only having one shot to do something

Carry a pack of sticky notes in your car to leave on other cars. I leave them all the time. I've only gotten one guy to respond to me on AZ. I still need to meet up with him.

Awkward. lol I couldn't just meet up with someone like that.
Too many shady mother fuckers in this scene. Granted Im sure thieves would have a lot more on their plate trying to steal an ilx tsx or tl verses an ek, eg, or dc.
I guess the old days just haunt me. After seeing thieves stealing mugen oil caps in the middle of a meet to tossing prepaid cell phones with GPS enabled into peoples back seats at local get-togethers just to follow the car home to the owners home is some scray shit. I roll deep just meeting up to buy parts off someone I dont know. LOL
Sketchy world the honda game. Sketchy as fawk.

An issue with the grill and the front piece between the hood, above the Acura emblem, not staying together. Something is not snapping together as it should. I also asked about the navi issue posted earlier in another thread.

I haven't had that problem yet. I haven't been to a ton of meets but I've been to a few. Everyone has been cool. It might be more of a older honda thing since those cars are really inexpensive now and might attract some lesser people.

The guy I plan to meet up with lives in the same apartment multi-complex area that I do. Plus I see him driving to work pretty often since he works at the building across from me.

today i plastidipped my rear emblems anthracite gray just like my wheels. It looks darker because of the lighting but they are very close to the car color. Friday I will do my front grill and possibly the chrome trim around the windows if I have time.

That came out GREAT! Nice job! I have some black plastidip, but I think that color would look better on the black, than black. I'll have to see.

Well they fixed the separation on the grill and panel. It had to go to the body shop for them to do it.

Will you use the glossifier for the trim, or leave it flat?

It's anthracite. A "true" metallic says plastidip so it has a level of shine already. Doesn't look like much but it does... I believe. hahaha
Curious to see the anthracite trim. I think black would go better but cant wait to see it.

glad they fixed your grill! I had them matte black plastidipped before, but I definitely like this color better.

yeh I liked that it had the metallic look already for the anthracite, the guy at dipyourcar told me i could use one layer of glossifier on the rims so I tried it. didn't change too much but you could tell when you're up close. he said if I wanted them really shiny I could do 3 or 4 layers of glossifier but I am content with one.

here is a semi blurry picture of the up close anthracite when I had just finished. still had the rotors covered.

Im going to pearlize the next plastidipping I do. Im thinking white pearl. My last white wheels were pearl and I loved the finish. I think putting another 2 layers on those wheels of glossifer would really pop. Id consider it if I were you!

Id also consider glossifying the grill when you do the anthracite. My thought it that the gloss will lighten the paint up a little because it allows more light to reflect off. It'll bring the dullness out of the anthracite and more to the deep metallic the oe paint job is.

I would peel the plastidip off the lugs. When mine were dipped I also peeled it off the "A" on the center part revealing just the chrome. It'll give it less of a cheap spray painted look.

yeah I'm going to take the dip off of the lug nuts since they will pretty much come off anyway when I rotate my tires. I don't like chrome at all, I'm going to keep my acura symbols covered, along with the window chrome trim and grill chrome trim.

I would. I don't know what the body shop did specifically, but it looks as it should now.

Well I finally figured out the car audio thing in the ILX... took awhile, but the sub in the car now sounds like a beast .

Biggest hurdle I had to clear was ANC... but once I figured out that was the problem it was easy sailing.

Active Noise Control.

The factory Microphone that is above your head in the front map laps section causes severe feedback into the aftermarket amps. You have to disconnect the Microphone in order to eliminate the feedback.

Can it be turned off instead of disconected?

I have a premium ilx... To pull up diagnostics in the radio you push and hold 1 - 6 - Display and then push power on.

The diagnostics menu did not have an option to turn off ANC.

If you want a full range signal you will want to tap pin 22 and 23. Should be a teal/green wire as the positive and a red wire as the negative.

Guys, regarding the grill, I think that was a design intention as I notice is on nearly every picture of the ilx I see, as well as mine. And speaking of mine, it's now with the Acura dealer I bought it from...I got this instead:

To rationalize things, the repair needed to fix the bumpers, knock out the door ding, modify the suspension, add an lsd, and to make similar power was more than the negative equity I rolled in and, even then, the car wouldn't have navi, blind spot monitoring, or the room I need as my life moves on. The car is a work of art. I miss the light-footed-ness of the ILX, but this car is very fun and feels nice and tight.

My grille is flush, so Id say its an error not intentional.

Sorry to see you go out from ILX scene. I was considering a speed3 when I was looking for a car but thought when I test drove it that transmission isn't as smooth as the ILX. Yes, the power is there but I guess my familiarity with Honda's won. Congrats man.
