Ugh. Can't edit my last post.
We are arguing the same point dude. I understand I made an ignorant comment about you wanting a turbo just for the sound; hence why I apologized before hand if you were being sarcastic. Which apparently you were so you shouldnt have taken my comment offensively.

I then explained my comment to the rest of the board (and you if you were serious about the sound which you weren't, so Im not explaining anything you dont already know).

We both made the same statement.
I made two comments, that the fluttering sound is the air going the wrong way... you claimed I was wrong, then said exactly what I said except explained WHY you don't want the air to go back toward the turbo.
Second comment was that a BOV wastes the air... IT DOES.
(Both our definitions start here>) A Good turbo system will utilize a blow off valve to release unused air (your extended definition>) before it reverses back through the compressor wheel burning up the turbine bearings.

^^SEE I made the same damn statement just without explaining WHY. My point remains that those sounds are the sounds of an inefficient turbo system. An efficient turbo wont have air reversing through the compressor wheel and a great turbo will redirect unused air instead of expelling it.

I'm down to get along. I should have held my starky comment about the sneeze to myself. But hey, we all have opinions.

I'm not torn about it anymore man. I apologize, yesterday was bad timing. Let my stress at work get to me and then I blew up like a 14 year old girl.

On a side note, Exhaust was all ordered last night. Everything from the resonator back will be Stainless. I bought 2 Dynomax Super Turbo's and a Vibrant standard resonator. I want to see how it sounds with the stock resonator then if I don't like it i will swap it over.

Niice. So what will the set up be? Stock downpipe to?

I need to do some research into my own set up. In the past I bought an entire system to bolt directly up to a high flow cat.
I think Ill go megan downpipe to highflow cat to magnaflow mid piping back to I figure one of their custom mufflers or maybe an existing muffler either honda/acura OE or aftermarket. Not sure yet for the last section though.

Has there been a downpipe that has even been produced yet for the 2.0L auto's?

I had to get the automatic as I don't have feeling in my left foot from a forklift accident and my wife drives the car from time to time.

I got an automatic tech for the resell value, the navi, huge display, better sound system; plus Im going for a VIP inspired build for a nice daily so automatic was the ticket.
As for forklifts, I drive one everyday, it's manual. Same for the other vehicles at work. After using a clutch all day at work, I'm happy to drive home without one.

And there isn't a downpipe FOR THE ILX but they have one for the R18. Megan Racing 2012 1.8 civic downpipe.

Trent, how's your personal stuff. You settling out ok?

I'm strongly considering biting the bullet and ordering all the stuff I need. I've got the money, but I'm second guessing it because I want to wait til I get my 2.5k paycheck.

Im the warehouse supervisor/manager of Oak Tree Gun Club. Best gun range and proshop in the western hemisphere.
I say supervisor first because that is my title and we are the only department without a manager. I was the first employee hired to fix their mess of a warehouse. Ive been here less than a year and seen a fair share of shit. Gunclubs are cray. LOL

I work in the marketing department of the new york times -- it ain't easy. When you're a two billion dollar organization, you gotta be sure to cover your ass from a legal and inter-office political sort of way.

I used to work at a warehouse that sold cables and stuff to charter, time warner, etc. I gotta say I know how you feel. I was the supervisor of what I like to call our "asian sweatshop" I enjoy forklifts.

On another note, I just got news that I was accepted to my local fire academy (:

I live in Nebraska. Yeah the country side has lots of corn, but if your in the major cities we've cut it all done and poured concrete.

People can hate, but the College World Series is amazing here every year.

Have you heard of Wilber, Nebraska? There's like 1900 people there. Coworker that sits next to me if from there and her parents grow corn. I give her a hard time and call her a country bumpkin. Almost everyone in my office is from Kansas/Nebraska.

Location, down payment, lease vs buy, trade ins, past customer history, great credit score. All will greatly influence a price tag.
Could be the lot had more than half their inventory is the same color or the same trim so the over abundant trims get sold cheap.

Location is a HUGE factor. Also people lie. Remember that. lol

Dayum..

On a side note, I brought my ILX in for the 3rd time for the same probleml "Check Emission Light" keeps turning on randomly..Yes my fuel cap is tight. They gave me the 5-speed premium in PMM. I gotta say..the color is beautiful in person. Makes me think twice about my white.

Bought mine in the Bay Area. It's the '13 model and the '14s are now on the lot, so the dealers are trying to get rid of the '13s. I got quoted online for $25,300 right off the back by a few dealers in the area. Competition is high between dealerships here since there's probably 10 or so dealers in a 100 mile radius. A combination of leveraging dealerships against each other, financing offer, good credit, large down-payment, and just overall negotiating, I was able to get them to drop it down to $24,800 before tax/licensing. Also, had to get them to send a driver down to SoCal to get the car since they didn't have any in NorCal in crystal black. Overall, took me about a month of negotiating and back-and-forth talk to finally drive off the lot satisfied.

That's a crazy good deal, which is awesome!, but it also scares me haha.

Last piece of my exhaust project got delivered this morning, wife just texted me and said she signed for it. Exciting Stuff. So exhaust should be on by friday.

Suspension wise I decided to wait until my camber arms and sway bar get delivered. So lowering the car might not happen until next week, but I have the springs sitting on the floor.

Has anyone found a spoiler yet that's different than the factory Premium/Hybrid spoilers? Part of me wanted to rip a spoiler off of an IS250 and take it down to the shop and mod it to fit the ilx trunk lid. That will probably be next on my mod list is the spoiler.

Do yellow fogs get yellow-er over time? My drivers side fog went out (bubbled, I may have accidentally got my skin oil on it) I bought the exact replacement from the exact same seller on amazon and the old bulb is noticeably more yellow. The bulb itself also. So do they get yellower over time or are these not the exact same ones?

Packaging also is different but the manufacturer may have just updated it, idk.

I'm pretty disappointed i wasted $30. Either the seller sold me bulbs that aren't authentic, or the brand Luminics have an inconsistency with their product. The fogs literally look stock but a little bit brighter. I don't think i can return em because they've been "modified" (H9 to H11)

Who's excited to see where Acura takes the TLX? It's almost here...

2015 Acura TLX Spy Photos

The TL gains an X and loses its slightly smaller sibling for 2015.

What It Is: Acura’s next-generation mid-size sedan being tested while wearing a heavy layer of obstructive camouflage. The last time we checked in on Acura’s sedan lineup, the company told us it was planning to offer just three sedans in the future. With the introduction of the compact, Honda Civic–based ILX and the RL-replacing RLX large sedan, only the TSX or the TL—but not both—will soldier on. Based on the apparent size of the four-door in these spy photos, it seems Acura has decided to go with a new TL. We’ll give TSX fans a moment to collect themselves. In keeping with Acura’s latest three-letter, X-centric (Bazinga!) nomenclature, we expect the TL moniker to give way to a more brand-appropriate TLX designation. Why It Matters: Although Acura as a brand has seen flagging consumer interest in recent years, the TL especially has waned in the eyes of luxury buyers. Partly due to age, and partly due to its lack of a premium image, the TL simply falls short of its German competition. The new TLX will need to claw back from the TL’s position of irrelevancy by making an impact in the ever-popular compact-to-mid-size luxury-sedan arena. The TLX’s job will be made somewhat easier, we think, by the departure of the smaller, comparatively affordable—and fun-to-drive–TSX.
Platform: Like the outgoing TL, we expect the new TLX will use some variation of what underpins Honda’s North American Accord. The TL shared its bones with the previous-generation Accord (the smaller TSX was based on the European Accord), which was updated heavily for 2013. Just as the latest Accord sedan essentially is the same underneath as the car it replaced, look for similar upgrades to the TLX’s structure, possibly along with some weight savings.

It’s difficult to make out any specific styling changes from these spy photos, but it’s clear that Acura largely will carry over the TL’s swoopy greenhouse and high beltline to the TLX, although the new sedan does look less chubby in profile. Somewhat amusingly, Acura’s camouflage folks decided to use a contrasting-color, pentagon-shaped mesh insert for the area covering the TLX prototype’s grille, and it fairly gives away the test car’s origins. Behind the camo, the brand’s signature beak-like grille barely can be made out. It looks as though RLX-style LED headlights will be available on the TLX, considering that they can be seen gleaming from behind the camouflage, as well.
Powertrains: Perhaps the TLX’s biggest potential changes relative to the TL have to do with its engine, transmission, and drive layout. The TL offers two engines, one for front-drive models and another for all-wheel-drive versions. A 280-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 powers front-drive TLs and a burlier, 305-hp 3.7-liter motivates TLs with the brand’s signature torque-vectoring Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). We’re betting that, like the larger RLX, the TLX will carry over its dual-powertrain strategy, but with a twist.

Look for the front-drive TLX to get a 3.5-liter V-6 shared with the two-wheel-drive RLX and the 2014 MDX crossover—depending on the application, this mill produces between 290 and 310 horses. The TLX also could inherit Acura’s Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) rear-wheel-steering setup from the larger RLX for an added shot of agility. All-wheel-drive TLXs, on the other hand, could inherit the same Sport Hybrid Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive as the four-wheel-drive RLX. This new version of SH-AWD pairs the aforementioned 3.5-liter V-6 with a 40-hp motor/generator and a pair of 27-hp electric motors fitted to the rear axle. Each motor powers a single rear wheel, enabling precise torque vectoring in corners and contributes to a total system output of roughly 370 horsepower. Even though Acura did not fit the latest all-wheel-drive MDX with the Sport Hybrid gear—instead sticking with a carry-over mechanical clutch-pack-based setup—the company could toss it into the TLX to give it a leg up on its non-torque-vectoring entry-luxury sedan competition.
Competition: Audi A4, BMW 3-series, Cadillac ATS, Infiniti Q50, Lexus IS, Mercedes-Benz C-class.
Estimated Arrival and Price: The outgoing TL starts in the mid-$30,000 range, and we don’t expect the TLX to deviate far from that mark. In fact, there’s not much wrong with the current TL’s pricing when you consider that the sedan packs a lot of luxury and technology content while splitting the prices of the smaller Audi A4 and BMW 3-series. Based on how finished-looking the test mules in these photos are, the TLX likely will debut soon, probably as an early 2015 model. View Photo Gallery

^that article was posted in Car and Driver...interesting to read the comments...i feel like Acura should release the sales numbers of the Integra and Legend to hush these people up. The Legend wasn't some sales god like people claim.

Reserving judgement until I see some less disguised photos.
But, I've not been a huge fan of the TL after the 2G, personally.

The few 3G TLs I've driven were early J32 powered ones. Felt bigger & heavier/less nimble than my '00.

If the TLX gets downsized a bit from the current size, I'd be more interested. But, I'm not the demographic for that car.
