Ventetian plaster anyone?

I saw this in a friends home and I really like the appearance of Ventetian plaster.

Here's a picture of it:

Has anyone done it themselves or hired someone to do it? How does it hold up over time? Cost?

Same here. You really need a specific type of architecture and decor to go with that.

We did a wall finish called Venetian Plaster. It's a pain in the ass to do but the results are amazing. New fixtures for the sinks, all new towel bars, wall cabinet over the toilet, recut the mirror and made a frame to surround it. New lighting.....

We went from this:

to this:

Crown moulding around the ceiling (my first try at installing it)

Here's what the walls look like up close.
