Re-did the master bathroom (pics)

I feel like I've been working on this for months (because I have).

We did a wall finish called Venetian Plaster. It's a pain in the ass to do but the results are amazing. New fixtures for the sinks, all new towel bars, wall cabinet over the toilet, recut the mirror and made a frame to surround it. New lighting.....

We went from this:

and this:

to this:

Crown moulding around the ceiling (my first try at installing it)

Here's what the walls look like up close.

I still have to install a new exhaust fan (with heat) but I'm guessing total materials cost were under $750.

What brand paint(s) did you use? Was it a kit that came with all of the items you needed to get that effect?

I used McCloskey's. That's what my Benjamin Moore paint store carries. Lot's of other brands out there.

It's two parts:

1 - Base coat (the purple color
2 - Clear sealer

If you put the clear sealer on a little thicker, it leaves the white accents like in the pictures.

You need a spackling knife to apply it. There are lots of sites out there that give pointers on applying it.

Very Nice Job

How difficult was the crown molding? I'm thinking about trying it in my office and perhaps move to on to a couple of other rooms. We have it in several of our rooms and it adds so much to a room.
Thanks and Congrats- You've got a nice "office" to "do business"!
