You are definitely making some major changes and it looks great. I think with the floor and wall color you went with painting the cabinets white and change the hardware to like a pewter or gunmetal color would really change the entire look of them.

So finally, after 4 days of fighting with customer service and the installation group, they finally showed up to complete my kitchen install and install the baseboard. My kitchen is finally "complete" at least for now.

20150324_142703_zpsnn09efz6.jpg

I had them include under the cabinets because my ex had put so much cove base glue under there it just looked terrible. I think the baseboard really cleans up the room and adds a more finished look, plus the installer screwed in my new air duct vent while he was at it.
20150324_142713_zpsgng98rgi.jpg

Yet to be determined is if I'm going to leave the base white or paint it. If I do paint it, it would be the darker gray that I used on the bulkhead. Also, still not sure how I'm going to clean up or refinish the cabinets. But for now, I'm happy with the floor and the paint, it looks 100 times better than when I started. Going to get a small 2 person table for the area where the cords are hanging, and start putting everything back together. New appliances also are on the horizon shortly.

Thanks Henry, the paint colors were all selected by an interior decorator :theghey: and they were free, I just did my best to match them. The grout is supposed to match the tan and is pretty close, the tile compliments both the cabinets and dark gray paint color. The white matches the ceiling

^ Yeah, well...we don't need to tell anyone.

But, generally, the colors are neutral enough that you can match relatively easily. Still, good job.

Thanks, I didn't hire the ID, just benefited from having the colors already chosen and getting the paint for free

Massive improvement. I vote to leave the baseboard white. It looks fresh and clean.

looks much better, now you need to trim out the window and install some crown moulding, oh and trim/moulding should always be/stay white

It's paintable though

My buddy suggested trimming out the window as well, can you show an example of what you mean?

i don't have a full length pic but you get the idea, its just the same trim they put around doors, you could run up plush with the existing sill.

Thanks Jake, it's called LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) It looks like ceramic tile, but it won't crack if you drop something on it (already confirmed), or if the floor settles. It's great stuff, and looks and feels like tile

Not sure, he basically charged me cost as a throw in to the carpet which hasn't gone in yet. The total cost for the kitchen floor including install was around $1300

Small update, a little before and after

Before: 34" Vizio LED
IMG_20150316_175411_zpsg0ovu5ly.jpg

After: 70" Vizio LED
20150331_231037_zpsapmzctvj.jpg

20150331_231053_zps3pvgavar.jpg

Looks small in the second pic It takes up the whole wall. Threw it on my coffee table since I'm not putting my new TV stand until after I paint, but had to try it out. So far I'm happy.

Nope, I put carpet down when I bought the place. The couch was free from a friend, I know it was ugly but it served it's purpose for the time being

So the painting and carpet is a week or two out, so here's some more before pictures for now...

This is my "back yard" technically the side yard off of my porch (I have a corner lot). My property runs all the way up the hill past the stump in the middle.
20150322_114453_zpsyre4id2q.jpg

The bushes to the right run back behind the house and separate my property from my neighbor's to the right.
20150322_114508_zpsbmj2h7qz.jpg

This is the back side of my house along the property line between my and my neighbor's house
20150322_145239_zpsgbneoepo.jpg

More of the hill in front of the fence, I only have 1 strip of privacy fence that runs out from the house toward the hill. There used to be 4 large pine trees here, which were removed last August, you can see the stumps in this pic.
20150322_114532_zpsaiurookq.jpg

My yard/hill from the front.
20150322_114556_zpssxhxrcxi.jpg

20150322_114609_zpstckosnms.jpg

My property line runs to the phone pole, so the 4 trees seen here are on my side as well. The 2 on the right are dead and were supposed to be removed in August, but the tree guy never came back to finish the job.
20150322_114615_zpso80drzl9.jpg

What could possibly be happening out here?

Even the dog was like, dude, put my bed on the couch...that sh*t grimey!

I'm gonna guess, you're gonna extend the fence all the way around for the pup to run freely!

It's literally just lines of dog hair from between the sections. I could only get the vacuum in so far without moving everything, it's all vacuumed up now
