You can lose some of that weight by replacing my timing belt for me. I'll even let you adjust the valves. It should be worth at least 10lbs.

I lost a good 5 lbs on the timing belt.. mostly water and bowel mass since my head was more wrapped around getting the job done than eating. Gained most of it back within the week.

You sound just like me. Forgetting to eat until the job is done. I get on a mission and don't realize how tired I am. When I'm done I practically pass out. The front swaybar off of my back from 6pm to midnight was one of those times.

Waaay off topic but when's the next Vegas trip? The GF owes me right now.

Lets do it, end of Jan?

With my weight gain & muscle loss my back has been acting up. I believe most of it comes from sitting in front of the computer all day at work.

I just went to the doc for the first time since 2003. My blood pressure and triglycerides are through the roof. I am 6'4 and weigh about 260lb. My goal is to get at least 25-30lb off within about 3 months. It's a stretch goal but I'm stating a committed diet and work out plan on Tuesday.

I eat a lot of bacon...and I'm going to miss it. Beer too. No more happy hour Thursdays every week. I am hoping to feel a little more upbeat as I do this. I have become ridiculously lazy over the last year or two.

Change your diet and cut the sodium and fat intake. It'll make a huge difference. You're a married man now, you need to stay healthy for the family!

Made it to the gym this morning!

Did the elliptical for 5 minutes to warm up, did random lifting for 25 minutes and then did the elliptical for 30 minutes, just north of 3 miles. Just talked to my boss, changed my schedule at work to start at 9:30 so I'll hit the gym every morning Mon-Fri on the way to work.

I feel great so far. Had Special K for breakfast and an apple. I have a clementine and a sandwich on whole grain with just lettuce, tomatoes and chicken (no sauce) and have yogurt for a mid morning snack and almonds for an afternoon snack.

Started taking my supplements last night. I'm looking forward to completely transforming my lifestyle in the next 3 months.

true....

This is the longest I've been absent from the gym and it shows. I thought I could do the p90x thing and I failed....

I'm much more productive when I'm at the gym versus at home in my basement...next to the couch.....just wanting to punch Tony Horton.

Went to the gym this morning, came in at 5lb less than yesterday. Water weight I'm sure, but still feels good.

I just went back for the first time in almost 2 months. Man does it feel good. I actually tend to lose weight when I don't go to the gym. Losing hard earned gains sucks!

Losing muscle mass sucks more than gaining fat. At least to me, it seems a lot easier to burn off fat if you eat right and cardio. Not as easy to put the muscle back on.

True.

I'm a bigger guy by nature so I guess I've never had a problem with that. I just need to lose some of the fat.

Eating right and cardio it is..

^ feels like a pretty intense plan. I gave up on all that hardcore plan stuff years ago, when I realized the moment get off it & eat normally again, the weight comes back.... FAIL FOR ME. Recently, what works for me is portion control on healthy food that I could get almost anywhere. Skinless chicken, vegies, fruits etc.

yea thats always going to work well, and after a couple months I'll go back to eating like that. But for me, if I'm lifting, I gain weight... unless I eat like a rabbit. So right now I'm lifting heavy with low reps to put on a little mass, and when I start maintaing I'll go back to what you suggested.

I am a little late to this party, but I am at rock bottom in terms of weight so i thought I'd chime in for some advice. Ive mentioned in a few threads here that i lost 65 lbs in 2007 ( went from 225 to 160 over 5 months.) Currently I am at around 188-190. I am miserable and feel all of my clothes tighter on me. My goal is to be back to 160.

When I originally lost all of this weight I was 18, lived at home, and worked only part time. I had a gym membership thanks to being on a family plan, I was the 4th family member on the plan and my membership was free. I had a fridge and closet full of food where I could pick and choose what I wanted to eat to stay healthy.

However, now I am in school, work damn near full time, and live on my own. I pay my own bills and money is an issue. I can't afford a gym membership, and I can't afford to spend a lot of money on food. My finances are tight right now. My hours can be crazy sometimes too. EX: work 6:30 am- 1 pm, then class 2-5.

I just need some sort of direction on cheap and convenient meals, most of them need to be able to be taken on the go, with dinner, and breakfast being able to take some preparation. Mid day meals need to be able to travel with me though.

I could also use some advice on workouts I can do without equipment (though i relied heavily on the eliptical for cardio due to having very flat feet. High impact running can be very painful for days following a run days for me.)

I would love to lose the weight and turn as much of my fat as possible into muscle My sister is getting married in July so that is the real goal time frame for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated i hope to once again join you guys in the weight loss club haha.

^^^^ I'm sure other will chime in but I would recommend canned tuna as a quick on the go snack. What I used to do for a quick fulfilling meal was to make a sandwich consisting of whole wheat pita bread, tuna, salsa, and Parmesan cheese.

fruits, buying ready made salad from the store. other thing is you definitely have to eat at least 4 times a day in small-medium quantities to keep the metabolism up.

I think P90x workouts don't require or at least a very small amount of weights, correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know why many of my threads were unsubscribed. I thought this one died.

Going on the weinersnitchel diet again. I'll start a new thread but it worked well the last time and I was always full.

Quick Reply: Put on a ton of weight, anyone want to start a week by week weight loss thread?
