So here's my synopsis of the OP's post:
1) GF is telling a minor story about something that happened in her day and how she felt about it.
2) OP cops an attitude about it, probably not what the GF expected <------- key
3) GF cops a defensive attitude back.
4) OP asks all of us about it.
My opinion is the OP over-reacted to the gf's story and is reaping the rewards.

Guys, take it to PM if you have more to say to each other.
svtmike: The best way to get to someone who is extremely insecure and needing constant attention is to simply ignore 'em. That my best advice - take it or leave it. If most of his posts (legitimate or not) were to get no attention at all, he'd probably stop with most of the nonsense cuz he wouldn't have an audience left who cared. And as much as he says he doesn't care, the constant 8 paragraph replies about how he doesn't, proves he does. So don't feed the troll.
