Try sports tires. I was matched against an M3, Corvette Grand Sport and similar cars. I definitely didn't win because I was turning in perfect laps. I even ran off a bit on Grand Valley.



akplaya92 - The used lot is always changing what's there, and it looks like more advanced cars start appearing after a while. I'm seeing race cars begin to show up now. I'll have to recheck the new lots.

did that in all the GT series. Used to do the beginner races with exotics and high power cars.
It's like showing up to a sword fight with a gun.

I just did basic engine upgrades. ECU intake and exhaust.

 

Is there a way to check how a tire is wearing or what temperature the inside, middle, and outside are at?
I'm starting to think the engine doesn't really care much about that sort of thing.

yea that was beyond frustrating. i had a couple "wins" and id lose it on the second to last turn. took a few tries to gold it but i eventually did.

cheated a bit by putting traction control on 3 and abs to 2. it was still like driving on greased ice but I got it!

 

There's a tire gauge on the left of the screen. The color of it is the temp. The individual tire is a gauge on tire tread.
Iirc only forza does tire temp for inside middle and outside.

 

gosh.. do you guys play Lotus challenge without bumping to other cars?
i played for an hour, and i had to bump some to get 1st >_<

 

so.. what disqualifies for bumping to other cars?

obviously, hard hit disqualifies, but sometimes hitting them very gently disqualifies while other times doesn't.. i don't get it

I actually used the NASCAR for the FR challenge and the McLaren F1 for some other race. They were given to me free with my Gamestop pre-order. It was far from fair. Oh, does bad oil hinder performance?

 

Ah interesting. I did see the gauge in the bottom left, but I usually like to know how much a tire contacts the road on a particular track. I think it was the old papyrus nascar games that emphasized getting a even temp across the tire.

I upped traction control and ABS up and managed to get third on the Lotus challenge.

well. the MB academy was really hard for me and haven't beaten it, but lotus challenge is do-able in my opinion

I gave up on all golds for that one, but getting silver was real easy

 

how do you unlock the full nurburgring ? i finished the first set of challenges for the AMG one.. but its not unlocked.

 

nvm.. looked on google. not really a definite answer, but says you gotta finish the beginner and intermediate challenges. then you get it.

top gear track you gotta get gold on the VW bus challenge

 

The vw bus isn't that hard, but you need to completely ignore the racing line. you can pretty much swing around half of the pack by the second turn. That lotus is a squirrel of a car though. I don't think I have the motor control in my index finger to brake into that first corner.

As for the Lotus race, I think I've figured out a good strategy. As soon as you start to make the turn for the apex of Turn 1, let off the gas. Only brake when you're straight, and pump it. I've gotten consistent results that way, and more often than not I'm either ahead or right with the 11th position car.

Last race I was in fourth after the first lap, but I got a little squirrely in the Hammerhead and Gambon.

 

LOLOLOL i got the SSR truck used, oil light was on. didnt see it until 2nd lap in the first race. i said eff it and won both races on bad oil. funny thing was, on the daytona track i was losing mph due to the bad oil. won by blocking of an xrunner in the final stretch.

shame on me though.

 

yea turn 1 is the worst. it the incline in the road or decline (whatever you want to call it) throws the weight transfer off of the car when braking or something. pumping worked for me too. and definitely no brakes when turning at that turn, only when straight.

 

Im on B-spec in the beginner races using the Lancia Delta boy that car is quick stupid AI driver always finds himself spinning out... but still keeping the lead

 

tried one race in b spec and raged because the guy couldnt drive. thats going to be both frustrating and boring. maybe i just need to give it a chance?

yea i think you need to be at least 4th to get gold in lotus challenge.

No 5th is bronze, 3rd is silver and 1st is gold. I got 4th last night on the Lotus challenge. I maybe could've gotten first coming out of the last turn on the last lap but I said fuck it, I'm not gonna risk it then fuck up and have to do it all over again let me take my bronze and I can try it later if I want.

 

Those benz challenges are hard, the level 12 one that car is bitch to control!. I can get bronze but silver......IDK if I have the patience for it.

 

B license gold.

And I bought my first used car - a 95 or so Supra.
