I don't care about any of this part changing, weather simulating, and damage effecting nonsense anymore.

I saw a schwimmwagen and a kombi racing in the trailer from the inside of a what I hope is a kubal. I want to play this game right now!

well, they already had LeMans (2 versions) in GT4. So not a big deal there.

Holy fuck. I think all of us can agree that while the wait was agonizing, Polyphony has given us visual perfection. And the bitch isn't even out yet! Amazing.

FML, I need to get a good wheel before they're all sold out.

I ended up building a stand for my wheel out of PVC pipe. Its ugly, but its sturdy and only cost about $25 to make.

Your friend parks his real car in the drive way so he can park his virtual car in his garage?

heh. he did this just for this gaming day we had. he doesnt even have that wheel and seat at his house anymore, he dumped it in another friends closet. we kind of go through these phases where we race and then never do it again for a long time. I suspect we will do this again in November

1080p and 2ms delay on my 22" computer monitor or 720p and 8ms delay on my 32" TV .. hmm.

The delay makes a lot of difference in fighting games, I wonder if it'll apply to race games as well.

I am saving money, besides there isn't a tv out by apple yet.

I probably shouldve mentioned in that thread that I had to burn thru whatever I had saved due to some unexpected/expected expenses.

If you can visually discern a difference in six one thousandths of a second, then your name must be Steve Austin.

I don't see a difference, I feel a difference. Fighting games tend to be very tedious on button input; that plus visual delays make a ton of difference. Playing Street Fighter on say, a 12ms LCD big screen is a world of difference from a 2ms monitor. I don't know the real mechanics behind it, but that's what I feel. I can't play on "laggy" monitors, it's impossible. My timing on button inputs are forced to change because actions come out on-screen a little later than a good monitor, it makes me rage. >_>

If you're really curious though, I can dig up some more technical research. Some knowledgeable guys at a Street Fighter forum I frequent put their 2 cents in on why we fighting gamers can discern a difference in six one-thousands of a second.

its kind of like playing FPS shooting games on a wireless mouse, sure the delay might be very short like ms short.
but it can mean the difference between life or death.
