A lot of the top people are on GTPlanet.net, which I'm also on (everyone whose name starts with GTP_). Most people on there use the G25 or driving force GT (me), and some even use a controller, but the top guys are all on one of the wheels I mentioned.

And is it just me or does the driving seem much more touchy, especially coming out of corners? I spent the first half hour just trying not to slide when I get out of all the turns. My best time with the normal version was like 1:53

Yeah def very jittery. And, I don't think that aspect of it is very "realistic". I've never driven on that same course myself, and I've also never driven a 370Z before. BUT - I did use to have a similar and wilder car, 500hp Supra and I've driven it hard at Road America and Gingerman and it is NOT that hard to drive (6MT and traction control OFF). (370Z should be considerably easier to drive, with newer technology and less hp.) If you have decent tires, you have a good amount of grip and it's very easy to modulate and not lose control if you have some practice what you're doing - it DOES NOT feel like the demo makes it appear. So, in that respect, thumbs DOWN to this demo and it makes me not even wanna try. I mean, why bother putting in all that effort to learn what I think is a flawed model? At least if it was for the chance to DRIVE in that series, that might be something worth shooting for.

Well, it's on Normal 3 tires. I'd imagine it would be easier on sports tires, which would probably be equivalent to what your supra had

standard tires on the 370Z - I mean straight out of the showroom - would be on the same level as what I had on the Supra.. I was not running race rubber or anything, just high-perf street tires.

some cars, even newer ones are really easy to get sideways.

technology doesnt do much if its turned off.

besides when you play with a controller, pretty much the throttle is either on or off. i very rarely see people actually making use of the pressure sensitive buttons on the controllers.

No, I was using a wheel and having trouble keeping it settled. Oh well, I can't blame the game forever. And with a controller, you can use the right analog stick to control the throttle/brake. That's what I used to do.

i think you're the noob for using the analog stick, its much harder to get the right amount of throttle using the pressure sensitive buttons.

There's a noticeable difference in the physics model between GT5 demo and GT5 Prologue. FR cars weren't hard to drive at all in GT5P (the 350Z was easy to drive in GT5P, even with N3 tires, not as touchy). It took me a few laps to get used to the rear end kicking out unexpectedly in the demo. I don't know if that's realistic or not though. When you think about it, in the game, you don't feel the g-force, so you don't really know how fast you are actually accelerating or braking, it's harder to feel whether you applying too much gas/brake/steering, and also you can't feel the speed, so most likely you are going faster than you would be if you were in a real car on a real race track.

Because Polyphony is notorious for wasting time with releasing in between shit, instead of the original game. PS4 rumors will start before this game comes out.

I'll believe it when the game is in the store.
I pre-ordered GT4 and it got delayed for almost a year after the pre-order date.

Our own user Digital-Nitrate has discovered an early copy of the February issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine, and it’s got some pretty incredible news! Indy (“IRL”) cars have been confirmed, in addition to “weather effects, as well as night racing for all tracks”! Here’s a nice little summary of everything that’s discussed and confirmed:

* 1,000+ vehicles
* All vehicles have modeled cockpits (170 premium cars will have interior damage modeling)
* All vehicles will have both physical and mechanical damage modeling
* Indy (IRL) cars and tracks
* NASCAR cars and track
* Up to 16 players online
* High-definition video uploads directly to YouTube
* Multi-display rendering
* Head-tracking
* Full weather and night racing on all tracks
* Night/Day on all tracks
Scans of the actual article are at GTPlanet.

dang that sounds hot, even though I'm not a fan of IRL or NASCAR. Mid-Ohio, Toronto, Watkins Glen.... I will be very happy with those. Throw in Road America and Road Atlanta plz???? nice on the night/day and weather too, that will be cool.

Finally weather and night racing!

This game may be worth the wait if it actually comes out.

Indianapolis, Infineon, and Motegi were already in the game. if they do add Long Beach and Mid-Ohio. Couldn't care about any of the other tracks. Hopefully they will add some vintage Indycars as bonus awards.

I've driven the St. Pete and Edmonton tracks in rFactor on the PC and their not bad at all. Not great, but certainly not annoying to drive like temporary circuits can be. Matter of fact, I like these two tracks more than the current incarnation of Long Beach.
