I think everyone should get HD for their future purchase of a TV. My x-box 360 works great with my 55in HD TV.

X-Box 360 a Hot Item
Monday night a group of guys from Cleveland, Tennessee were robbed at gunpoint for their prized possessions.

“Apparently, Ted heard the gun cock, and all I heard him say was, 'O God!'” said Tim Hayes.

What happened next, was a blur. According to Hayes, he was standing in his friend Teddy Hart's driveway with two men demanding he hand over NOT MONEY, but the X-Box 360s.

“This is not really happening. At first I thought it was a joke. So I was like, 'This is not happening,'” said Hayes.

Earlier Monday morning, 10am to be exact, Hart and his friends lined up at this Cleveland Wal-Mart.

They waited 14 hours just to be the first ones in line to buy four of the new X-Box gaming consoles.

The group took the games home but never had a chance to enjoy them.

“A little scared honestly. I've never seen anything like that before. It's almost like surreal, like it was a movie,” said Hart.

The robbers got away with the prized possessions, totaling an $1,800 loss.

The new X-Boxes are hot items because they're like nothing else in stores.

Not only are the graphics high def, but it can play music and download digital photos.

Features that make the 360 valuable, but not so much that these guys would risk their lives.

“I did see the barrel of a gun sticking out of a jacket so I did know it was there, even though I didn't hear the gun cock,” said Hayes.

Hart filed a report with the Cleveland Police.

He said he also plans to contact Microsoft, the maker of X-Box, to see what the company can do for them.

I'm with you on that.... I make decent money, and I'm glad I got it from Costco, cause if I have problems with it in the future, I can always take it back... if, suppose... I sell this one, and have to wait a little... I might have to resort to buying it from another store... and I don't really want that... Besides... I've never sold anything on eBay before, and with my luck, I'll screw something up and not get paid... or something... I don't really want to deal with the shipping all that... it's not worth my time... but if suppose the demand goes up even higher, then... maybe...

I dont know how much of this is true. But i hear alot of you guys not U two specifically, but in general say, "Why not wait couple of weeks and get one".

That being said, radio said something about 2nd shipement not going out till like next March, and Other forums like in bungie people talking about February.

what do you guys know about this issue? I mean will stores keep on getting shipements weekly or what? I ask you u two since you seem to be the ones with alot of insider feeds....

 

Don't buy what they say on the radio. The next shipment should be sent out in a week or two. Go on the xbox.com forums you will find useful information there.

 

Or it may be possible more will be shipped out on Black Friday. Makes logical sense for MS to do this. Busiest shopping season of the year.

 

My sister in law is a manager at the local toys r us. She called me early this morning and told me that toys r us warehouses just recieved another shipment of 360's and they will be at the retailers by Friday or monday the latest.

 

MS will be sending 360's weekly or every 2 weeks until Christmas. While the shipments won't be huge, it will be possible to get a system this year.

The people that pre-ordered late at Gamestop and EB actually will have to wait until Feb (Valentines day) to get theirs. Your best-bet is checking Walmart, Toys R Us, Best Buy, etc..

thanks alot. I have been on Xbox forums reading and reading. talk about its all about marketing. Now i guess i will get mine before xmas like my eb store told me i would. I am #48 in the list, my eb store got only 12 on first shipment. So if they keep on getting some every week, i guess my turn will come. lol.

I also have been reading on alot of consoles crashing and having 3 red lights flashing or something.

makes me think twice on getting a first hand one. How long till its 149.99 like the regular xbox? lol

 

Ohh yeah, and about the insider tip like the TOYS R US one.. my friend just called me. He works in compUSA, telling me that their store got 360's sold some and held some others to sell on black friday or following monday. they didnt sell all at once.

 

There are a few 360's with defects, but I'm sure the majority of the issues are due to placing the systems in not well ventilated areas or just plain defects. The 360 has a 60 day warranty from MS and you can extend it to 2 years for $60.

As you know, looking at forums is not a good gauge for defect percentages. If you look at this website, you would think all of the CL's and TL's have transmission failures, but in reality it appears so because usually only those that have issues complain while the thousands upon thousands that don't have issues stay quiet.

 

Okay so I'm sure this is just more rumors but I was told last night by someone who's friends with a manager at Best Buy said that even when they do get more in, many more in, they can only sell 100 a day to keep the hype and demand up. Anyone else hearing that?

 

Not true. I know someone that is a manager at a Best Buy and they won't ever have enough systems to be able to sell 100 a day until at least 2006. For launch with stockpiling systems for over a month, all they had were 40-80 systems a store at launch. Production won't increase so much to produce numbers like that.

 

I wouldnt bank on any pre orders. The preorders will take gamers that want the system badly longer to get the system. I would just hit up the local retailers at opening for the nezxt few weeks. Or make nice with one empoyee at every store and get him to call you when the shipment comes in. Even offer him 50 bucs if he can get you one. That worked for a few of my friends.

ahh, i am a very patient guy. And i wont let this hype get to me. I pre ordered and i will wait. And if any of my friends tell me they hold one for (if they can) then i will go right ahead. I had ordered need for speed, but i saw that its out on xbox also. so might go an rent it. Cuz other than that i was going to keep on playing halo anyways. lol ahahhaahha. dammit cant make up my mind on waiting for it till halo 3 comes out.

(box doesn't read the disk well standing up right though, seems to be a large problemo, though ms's press release said "isolated" I wated on the support line for 50-60 minutes. Sombody on a xbox forum had their spontaniously combus. Others complain of freezing. Wonderfull things that happen on massive launches

I love the damned thing, it's verry gadget like. They put a good amount of thought into everything.
