Since I downloaded the free maps, I'm getting checkered screen and the console freezes while playing COD2 online. ANybody else having same problems? What might be the reason? I think my 360 is doomed!

No error code with the lights either. Light is solid green. Also I can play single player w/o any problems. I need to start playing GRAW online again to check if this is COD2 patch problem or console problem.

Any help?

 

no problem here. but try to delete downloaded content and download again.

Too late. I got notorious 3 blinkikng red lights. Called MS and they said it will need repairs. Fortunately I'd bought 2 yr replacement plan from Best Buy and got a claim no. I'll send them the box after getting cliam lables in the mail. they'll send me $399.99 + tax in gift certificate and then I can buy the latest one, hopefully manufactured after this hardware problem was fixed. The box I bout on 12/31/2005 woeked well for 5 months now.

 

nice. not nice that it crapped out on you, but you get a new one with the new cooled cells i think. good luck finding one.. or does your best buy have them in stock alot?

 

I've no idea. I'll wait for the gift check to arrive and then I'll have to search the hunt. However, I saw a stock pile in local Target so they are not hard to find at BB I think. Let's hope for the best. I miss XBL and am already getting withdrawal symptoms.

 

Here is an update. I went to local BestBuy and got a new one. However, it was more than 5 months and MS warranty is 90 days, so they offered me 2 yr replacement plan which I bought for $49.99. I'll hook it up tonight and will be back in action

 

Just a thought... for $489 at costco you can get premium set up with extra wireless controller, project gotham racing, and a lifetime warranty.

 

^^^ I wish I could have gotten that. Since I bought the first one in Dec from BB I had to get it replaced at BB. Costco in bay area said they did not carry it when I asked in December.

Well your deal doesn't sound too bad either. Should I get COD2? I got Battlefield 2 and was disappointed.

Everyone else seems to like it, I don't really know why I didn't. I played it for 2 hours and then just turned it off, I was completely bored with it.

Seemed like the whole thing was just firing machine guns at guys so far away I could barely make them out.

Yup! Get it. One of the best single player I played with old weaponry, WWII. COD2 on Live is always active. Also, this game will be cheaper now.
