I went to a release "party" at a GS for Halo 2 or 3, can't remember now it's been so long. Waste of time. Besides, the extra $20 off a future game purchase means I can finally get COD MW2.

the party for 3 was actually very fun for me.

they had multiple screens/xbox's set up with halo 2 for us to play.. gave away free redbull and food..
a guy was doing halo trivia over a loudspeaker that was giving away free halo merch for right answers.
i left that place with a ton of shit and met some pretty cool people to play halo with that night.

not to mention being first in line is always fun.


ps. i wouldnt pick up MW2 unless you really want to, it wont be long before another "good" CoD is released.. (im a fan of CoD too)

 

Beat this game this weekend with my friend. Loads of fun co-op, but the story is wacky. I wasnt overly impressed, then again I havent played the other games. Certainly worth getting a friend to play with you. (Thats what she said)

I would be a lot more interested in this game if they released it for PC, like they did with Halo 1, which was a great game for its time.

Of course halo is much more than 5 games.. There aRe books and books on the halo universe.. If anybody looks to understand you would need to read them.

Alot of us played CE on pc... Most of us have moved to XBL... why not join the party? Theres less cheating

I'm under the asumption that Halo Reach is a prequil. I know a little about the series and some things ive seen in the game would suggest that the events in Reach happen prior to Halo 1.
FTR I do watch movie trilogies in reverse. LOTR for example

 

but to understand the story (as best as the games will let you)
it would make the most sense to play them in order in which they were released.

games and situations in more recent games are mentioned in the older games.. reguardless of timeline.

reach IS a prequel.. but the story line wont make much sense if you havent experienced the other games...

you can always pay close attention and figure it out in any order. i just meant its easier if you follow the game timeline.

its like you figure out why something in halo3 happened... when you play Halo ODST (which was released after 3).. its hard to explain...

I just picked up the limited edition. The packaging is actually pretty cool, and I usually don't care about crap like that. I won't get to play the actual game until 6 though.

Planning on playing tonight. The game is being delivered via UPS to my house today.

 

I should be playing all night tonight. I have nothing due at school tomorrow and work doesn't start until 11. I'm not sure what I should do first, campaign or multiplayer. I normally choose campaign, but after visiting bungie.net to put in my Halo:CE key I feel more like multiplayer.

What are you guys gonna do first?

 

My bro-in-law has also pre-ordered it so probably gonna get online with him and play some online co-op and multiplayer.

 

My friend went in for basic training in July for the Air Force. He was gonna be home just in time for Halo: Reach, me and him were gonna play some co-op like we did way back for Halo 1. Unfortunately his orders changed and he's getting shipped over to Mississippi for tech school for two months. Whadda bummer.

How's everyone liking it? Multiplayer is pretty fun! Love the customization options, and the campaign is challenging!

 

multiplayer is DEEP compared to previous games... so many options with the weapon/armor loadouts...

the campaign is very fun.. the more people that join in, the harder the enemies become.. loving it..

we already conquered it on normal.
gonna start my legendary campaign this weekend.

 

I beat the campaign last night on normal. It was really fun! The story started out kinda slow, but picked up a lot as I progressed.

I found a few hiccups along the way. The vehicles would often react spontaneously. For instance, I was flying my Ghost when all the sudden it just dead stopped. Turns out I ran over a rock (errr...pebble) and was caught on it. I got killed a few times by a Wraith falling from the sky. Also, damn buggers are hard in this one. Bungie has significantly increased their health and they do things besides just flying around.

I liked that Brutes are actually different than Elites in this one as well. Brutes have no overshields and once you knock off their helmet its a one hit headshot.

Multi-player is the best in the series in my opinion. The load outs make the game play very dynamic. I can't wait to get on with some friends and set up elaborate traps for unsuspecting players.

 

elites > brutes in this game as far as difficulty.

i got the game at wal mart and recieved a free skull cap and 20 dollar Gift card.

i started right in legendary. wait till u fucks go agains elites that hide when they see you sniping. they dont move until you look away and they create flanks. its not just a ton of enemies, its actually intelligent.

im loving it so far, the multiplayer is a bit dull when it comes to levels and there are already fucking clans that are dominating places. i dont know how they do it.

The reach console bundle is a great deal

The bundle is a $480 value... And if you are getting 20 back thats even more.

Black xbox $300 + reach $60 + 2 controllers $120...

 

The elites are out of control on legendary . I had to tone it back down to Normal... been away from the game too long haha. But yes, I definitely appreciate how the AI has improved, even if it utterly destroys me.

Multiplayer is super fun. Even in the games I don't do well in, I don't feel hopeless like I did in H3... Maps are ok, glad Blood Gulch is back!

Also, the ingraned MW2 controls dont help... I've tried a hundred times to melee with the joystick!

 

So I see they have a new slim without a hard drive for $199 but it looks like co-op mode on Reach isn't support without a hard drive.

 

The 4gb console isnt as pretty either.. Its flat instead of glossy

 

change your thumbstick layout to green thumb. problem solved.

 

level 7 on legendary. cant wait to play with my GF on normal mode. i think she is going to like it

I may consider getting this game.... Halo and FPS in general got kinda meh for me. But that's what I said last time when COD4 came out.... then I was stuck on it like crack.
