Okay I swear this is my last post for tonight and I'll stop whoring this thread.

I purchased these tonight:

And test drove these:

My opinions:
S4-Crazy fun for a C-class car. Well worth the price.
458 Italia-Well worth the wait. Great handing and amazing power. Plus it's a Ferrari, what more could you want? Oh and tri-tipped exhaust
R35 Skyline GTR-Stupid fast but the brakes suck and it understeers quite a bit. You've still gotta have it. The stock wheels are ugly so swap those suckers out asap.
XFR-Quick as hell for a 4-door. Interior view is the BEST! My pick for a saloon by far.
Stirling Moss SLR-I hate it. It's ugly, doesn't brake for shit, and it's....well, I'll leave it at that. You know what I think about it.
Panamera Turbo-Fun through 1st gear then it's boring. And look at that ass. Ew. I'll pass.

There is also a new Aston Martin R1 car and a new Audi TDI R1 car but I didn't feel like testing those. Yall know what those look like by now

So am I right about this? You buy a set of regular wheels and then paint them whatever color you want and then go and purchase a set of chrome wheels and the paint will automatically transfer over? Or do you buy chrome wheels, and then buy regular ones, and then mount the chrome ones on afterwards? I think I've seen that before.

And post up a picture of that Ferrari

I kept seeing great moments to take pics but I kept forgetting to take them. I was driving my GT2 and a F430 was in front of me and went wide and clipped something and rolled like 4 times it was crazy haha. Seasonwise, I am doing the R3 races now and these are starting to get long. Not looking forward to the endurance races.

Endurance races are pretty fun...I love the fact that you have to pit and at the end of the race you are usually so far ahead of everyone, it doesn't matter. Don't do them when you're are tired though....YOU WILL FALL ASLEEP!

In Forza 2 my brother was doing an endurance race...when he woke up his car was slammed into a wall in dead last...all that wasted time
No rewind feature in FM2 either, lol

I finished the R2 World Championship earlier today (11 races total). Now I'm about to start doing the R1 World Championship (13 races total). Shit is going to take forever.

Even though I'm in my 6th season in the game, I still have a shit ton of races left to do. Thank god for Christmas break

ok so wait as far as wheel selection, am I missing something or is it extremely limited. I went to HRE and there is only 2 wheel choices...I was like ok, this is gay, I can't get my wheels. Oh well, maybe others wheels have more choices. I went to Volk to see if I could get my old GT-Vs, same shit, 2 wheel choices, wtf!

oh yeah and my friend came over with the microsoft wheel, that thing sucks ass. My laptimes were 10 seconds slower on average with the wheel vs a controller.

Mini Cooper FTL! MS3 FTW!

I've never used a steering wheel, so I'm sure I would suck ass until I got used to it. Was the wheel shitty or you just weren't used to it?

And the wheel selection isn't as good as I thought it would be. There are a shit ton more wheel manufacturers in the game compared to FM2, but besides Enkei and Fiske, each only have 1-3 wheels to choose from. Maybe they will add more later in a DLC package.

There's a pretty big learning curve with a wheel the first time. I sucked at it in Forza 1 & 2. For 3, I've not used a controller at all, and now I'm pretty good at it.

Yeah I think it just really takes some getting used to. Also I was playing around with the advanced wheel settings a bit and I think I probably need to tweak it more to get it where I would need it. Basically cars that oversteer are the worst with the wheel. With the joystick you can quickly correct an oversteer with a flick. But with the wheel you have to slam it over full lock to the other side, otherwise the car just keeps oversteering right into a wall. Anyways I think I just need to tweak the sensitivity some more. I also turned off force feedback on the wheel and that helped a bit.

With oversteer, you really have to correct it sooner, and it requires a bit more dexterity with the pedals. I find myself reversing a lot, now that I'm experimenting with tossing the RWD cars in corners. It takes a good bit of practice.

Yeah, see thats the thing I can't correct it fast enough with the wheel it seems. Anyways my friend left the wheel at my house he said I could borrow it since hes not playing any racing games right now. So I will mess with it some more and see if I can get better with it.

Shit I wish but Santa's pockets aren't that deep. Maybe I should get a job and get one myself

Damn really? I can't give up the game just because I don't have a wheel. I'm too addicted

So I did the first of 13 R1 World Championship races this afternoon. It pays out really well, but the races are just under 20 minutes each. I was using this:

^^^nice

I am still on R3, working all day FTL I have no time to race.

Anyways I got home from work and started playing with the wheel again. I made some more tweaks and now I can do a pretty fast lap without crashing. (Its hard to not crash while driving fast with the wheel) Anyways I did a 9 lap R3 chamionship race. I did 7 laps on the wheel and my best lap was 1:57.9 and then I paused and switched the controller. My very first lap with the controller I turned a 1:54.3, 3.5 seconds off my best time with the wheel on my very first lap. Second lap with the controller I turned a 1:50.9. Another 3.5 seconds or so shaved off. I am busting my ass trying to play with this wheel, I want to play with the wheel, but I am so much freakin slower with the wheel its killing me!

Ok so I did a E series set of races with the wheel and it was quite enjoyable. I probably still would have been faster with the controller but it wasnt giving me the usual problems. I also made some more minor tweaks to the advanced wheel steup. Now I have the steering axis deadzone outside set to about halfway. Vibration disabled and force feedback set to about 1/10 of full force.

haha hopefully you pick it right up. I dunno if the people who swear by using the wheel are fast or if they just like using it. I mean I enjoy using it but I am definately faster with the controller. All of my friends who play are faster with the controller also, they tried the wheel and crash into walls lol

Ok so today I was at the Topanga Mall and they had a huge Xbox 360 demo station setup. 2 Forza racing wheels, Rock band setup etc etc I think there was like 8 Xbox 360s in total. Anyways I waited and got to try one of the wheels they had. I just did the race it defaulted to in season play which was Road Atlanta in a Lexus IS-F. I was killing it, driving amazing, no problems at all and I was somewhat nervous there was like 15 people watching me I was playing on like a 40inch LCD. So anyways I came home, and I am like maybe this wheel I have just sucks! So I get a Lexus IS-F and go to Road Atlanta and low and behold I can't keep my damn car on the track! Verdict: this wheel my friend let me borrow freakin blows!
Now I know this wheel is pretty old, perhaps they made some changes to the new wheels. So CLtotheTL this is good news for you!

^Damn that's really good to hear! Thanks for the review.

How old is your friend's wheel that you are using? I've been looking on Craigslist for a while at wheels, but if the new one is a huge difference over the old one, I don't want to pay have the price and only be half as happy with it. Plus I want my lap times to improve with the wheel, not worsen

His wheel is about 2.5 years old. He bought it right when Forza 2 came out. The difference between his wheel and the wheel at the mall was night and day man. And they both look like the exact same wheel.

^I've seen the new ones at Best Buy and similar stores and noticed they look exactly the same as the old ones. I want a wheel now

Today was one of those bum days so I laid around and played Forza all day. Here are some new pictures. I have enough for the Murcielago 670SV pictured below, but I don't want to drop 400k on one right now.
