Well...the S2000 needed more doors, more driven wheels, and a lot more torque...

Haven't posted pics in a while. Car hasn't really done much other than the occasional run to work and one more C&C because it has been raining so fucking much. Anyway, gave it a bath over the weekend. Looking nice and shiny now.
Also got the Rivian cleaned up. Here's the before, looks like shit because I don't think I've washed it in two months...unfortunately I somehow didn't take a picture of the after but rest assured it was also clean and shiny. At least until I drove it in the pouring rain this morning.

I'd never drill the front bumper for a plate if the local po po were Nazis about enforcing the weak law, I'd do this though if I had to on my 911 https://customlicenseplates.us

Local PD doesn't care. Rivian doesn't have a front plate.
Edit: Maybe I can 3D print a plug for the holes and paint it to match... Honestly it doesn't matter though, I won't have the car long enough for it to matter.

I have a problem in that I don't really keep cars for that long. They are experiences to me and I like to try as much as I can haha. If you (as you know) buy the right cars, they don't depreciate much, or at all, and in some cases will go up in value during your ownership.
That said, with my daughter now getting bigger, it's a challenge to have her in the car AND my wife in the car without the wife's knees being in the dashboard. Because the little one is in a car seat, her feet/legs are at seat height and not on the floor so there's not a whole lot of room without her kicking the seat backs.
We are now discussing if we move the Shelby along earlier than planned and look for something else like a 6MT BMW M3 or another Wrangler Rubicon. We are leaning towards moving it along soon especially because I can sell it for basically what I bought it for.
I plan on keeping the Rivian for a good long while. Mostly because I don't know what I'd replace it with...

V90 is slow AF. E63S would be cool but no manual. I'm thinking a F80 M3 manual or, if I'm going auto, I'll get back into a Rubicon again.

Absolutely not. I want to drive the car, not just fix it.
I'm trying! Long ways to go though...
I don't think you can even buy one of these anymore.
This.
Though didn't you need a new engine in the F10?

So now that the cat's out of the bag, I'll ask the hive mind for some help on what comes next.
Requirements:
Requirements:
- Functional back seat that will allow for a full size car seat to fit and still maintain space for an adult up front.
- Practicality is of zero importance other than the above requirement
- Fun to drive
- Fast (Rubicon is the only exception to this one)
- Manual very much preferred

Find one with the a rebuilt engine, or find one with less than 100K miles and get the injectors (which seem to be causing the problem) changed right away and do the rod bearings as a preventative. The F10 is an amazing car aside from this issue.

Might be tight [budget & backseat ], but 911, maybe an older 991 or really late 997?

If you get a V70R manual your wife will likely let you do naughty things to her.
Not for everyone but won't break the bank and reasonably fun to drive.
What are the last hellcats to get the manual? Chargers are pretty...Challengers too but not sure about backseats.
To be honest...I am intrigued by the Trackhawk Jeeps as well...capable and fast as shit. I'm not a Mopar guy but
I would not mind experiencing ownership at some point (like you mentioned, that's what it's all about).

Most girls don't understand why wagons are cool...
My ex wasn't super into them but in the end she got an allroad and loved (s?) it...
I got rid of the Merc wagon...but I still have the Volvo and absolutely love it.
I went to look at my old CTS-V Wagon but honestly it didn't do it for me like it did
in the past....the C6Z with a manual transmission might have something to do with that
but I went to look at it in the Volvo wagon and I was just as happy sliding back into that
to drive home after the test drive. Who knows...I'm weird.

M3 is very much at the top of my list, M5 has more reliability concerns
RS6 is way out of budget. E63 is on the list too but I have no real need for the added utility
911 is too small otherwise it would top this list for sure
Lotus Evora is smaller than a 911 lol. Also has the reliability of a British car...
hmmm...hadn't thought about this one. I'll have to see where the prices land for the 2G Panamera as it's way less fugly than the 1G.
I think the Sport Turismos will still be out of the price range unfortunately.
I'm not in the right tax bracket for a GTC4 Lusso but would top this list if I was lol.
CT5 Blackwings are still too much money (~$85k) for me to go into. I think they'll continue to depreciate a good bit more before they hit bottom. Not a great time to get into one.

I'll have to try out a V70R. I've never been in one either.
On the wagon topic, it’s funny, wife and I were chatting a few weeks ago about cars, and we resurfaced a conversation we had back in college when we first started dating. The idea back then was that our milestone of achievement and financial success was to buy a BMW (we didn’t specify which BMW, we didn’t have our hopes up too high…). The conversation continued with how I really liked the 5 series wagon that we had during last years summer vacation in Europe and how the first thing I did when I got back was to look up the price of the Alpina B5 only to realize it was discontinued. Then she added that even though the BMW part would check our checkbox, for her the wagon part is very much not in the success category. She then tried to salvage it a little asking if the B5 came in a manual, I answered “don’t think so” which resulted in the dead eyes stare.
All that that to say, wagons might not be for the misses.
All that that to say, wagons might not be for the misses.
My wife agrees, or just doesn't care, but the issue is that they are hard to find for fun ones. The Alpina B3 and B5 would be amazing to have, even in auto form, but alas they are forbidden fruit for now.
Blackwings are too much money at this point and they'll continue to drop in value. Don't really want to eat a huge loss if I can avoid it.

I want to say I recall @CLpower posting about 2 kids in carseats in his [996?] 911? Been a long time & haven't seen him around in a while.
Not sure how a 911 back seat compares to the Mustang.
