I'm curious to see how the white interior wears with a child. It would be my choice as well though I'm sure I would hate myself for it

We have the seat cover in the back for the dog as well. I've heard it doesn't wear badly since it's not real leather. It's a polypropylene material so it's not dyed, it's inherently white and not porous like leather so it can't accept more dye.

I've seen jeans stain it though. It's easier to clean then leather but still gives me pause.

Also, having a car seat on a seat cover isn't safe, and those seat covers aren't regulated. In most cases, car seats slide around more on those seat covers than without.

Jeans leave dye behind but it's just on the surface so you can wipe if off with baby wipes or APC pretty easy. Either way, I'll keep you all updated.

Yes but it depends on the seat and how it's attached. The way I have this seat in there, which we're now out of the infant seat, is belt mounted (not LATCH) and in there solid. Doesn't move around at all. Had it checked by the fire department and everything.

There is, it's in the upper left hand part of the screen. Below that is the car and what it see its surroundings as being. It's pretty easy to glance at the speed, doesn't take much effort at all. I got used to it a lot faster than I thought I would.

Also, I was driving my wife's Subaru yesterday and tried to get into a gap in traffic. Much swearing was done because of the lack of instant go lol.

I can take a picture next time I drive it but it's basically this. I think this is the older interface but the current one is very similar.

If you bring up things like radio or HVAC controls, they pop up underneath the map.

Congrats, Sam.
I have white/silver leather inserts in the S5 and it doesn't stain. I've dropped coffee on it and farted on it with no undies. It all comes right out.
There's a guy I buy leather dye from anyway for when the time comes.

Once you experience nearly 500lbft of instant electric torque a turbo seems unnecessary.

At least there's no threat of you turning into a dick now for buying an electric car.
(you have to already be one to even be considered for a build date).

Right @kurtatx ?

We switched over from the infant car seat to a convertible one and got them all installed today. Got two nicer (read expensive) ones, one for the Subaru and one for the Tesla, that have nicer materials and better build quality since the kiddo will be in them a lot more often. And got one less nice (though still safe) cheaper one for the Jeep since it'll just be an occasional use. Long story short, I definitely get why the more expensive ones are what they are. It took me about 45 minutes of trial and error to properly install the cheaper one in the Jeep and about 5 minutes to install the nicer ones. Whoever designed the install process in that seat needs to be fired. Good god, it's awful. You definitely get what you pay for lol.

Knowing Sam's precautious ass he won't do that until the seals are all properly broken in and it's had it's first oil change.

Until now that was also the case. Will never buy this brand ever again. The funny part is that we had it for baby's infant seat and that was a piece of cake to install.

the oil used to lubricate that cash on the way out of your wallet every month.

Other than the kee-low-whats being pumped into the car every night, there's zero cash leaving my wallet every month. Very lucky/happy to be in the position I was in to buy this thing.

just cause you spent all the cash for it up front doesn't mean it doesn't require lube!
I'm just glad you're happy with the purchase.

It honestly doesn't require much of anything lol. The recommended service is to replace the cabin filter and check (replace if needed, leave it if not) brake fluid every 2 years and service the AC every 6 years. That is literally it from the service manual. The most expensive running cost in this thing is going to be tires.

Wow...so poor you didn't even buy the lifetime tire warranty? Wow Sam.
I know, I meant the cost to get into one, not the cost to maintain it. It's an electric appliance....what the hell could it possibly need!
Plus, it did cost you your soul. Not fiscally apparent at first but personally, I'll miss you.

Apparently Tesla has a deal with discount tire and you get a tire warranty through them.
