Well...the S2000 needed more doors, more driven wheels, and a lot more torque...

Yep! To be honest, my Jeep isn't that heavy compared to many out there. I went for the function over form route first so I don't have any of the frivolous BS mods that most people have on theirs. The steel front bumper is a must have since I want to get a winch (first frivolous mod) and the tires don't clear the stock bumper when the wheel tucks up so it was a must have. The fact that it's an OE bumper is just the cherry on top lol. I'm still going to rock the plastic rear bumper until I find something else I like more.
I went in to the X7 thinking I could get at least 8-10% off MSRP plus incentives (which were pretty good) on top of that which is what I read on the forums. That to me, and my accountant, was and would have been acceptable. 2% off is silly and we're not desperate so we'll wait it out until there isn't a shortage anymore. Our local dealership had 2 X7's with the 6 cylinder on the lot and none on the way lol.

That actually doesn't look too bad, though I'd think it'd be better at the top.
How many Sahara trim make it out to your escapades? You don't see a ton of them modded up like Sports/Rubis.

I see plenty of Saharas and Sports out and about on the trails. While they're not going to tackle the Rubicon out of the box, they are FAR FAR FAR more capable than most of the people driving them will ever be. You could tackle Hells Revenge with a stock Sahara or Sport (with the optional LSD) without much issue with some decent driving and a spotter. You certainly don't NEED big tires and a lift, it just helps make things easier.
You can definitely tell which ones are configured as brojeeps vs ones that are actually used. Brojeeps have tons of cheap shitty mods that don't do anything of value, have cheap winches, big rims, and are covered in light bars. My personal favorite of late is the guy I see at the gym with the step hinges to get up to the roof rack he doesn't have. Most people that actually off road their Jeep don't have a light bar, they have maybe a couple driving lights on the bumper and that's about it. They also look basically stock with the exception of a lift and bigger tires, maybe the metal bumper so a winch can be mounted.

Update. Looks like the Ascent is the winner of the game. At $20k less than the Audi and $40k less than the BMW, it's a damn good bargain and really quite nice on the inside. I'm not a huge fan of the noise it makes at full tilt but it's a family car so whatever. Also, the CVT is meh but our current Outback has the same thing and I honestly don't mind in a car like that. When you're cruising down the highway it's quiet and comfortable and comes with all the safety/driver aids standard. It's obviously not on the same level as a Q7 or X7 in terms of refinement or quality but it's certainly more than adequate given the cost difference. Wife basically said at the end of the day she'd rather have the kiddo crush her cheerios and puke/poop into something cheaper and put that money towards the house or something else like upgrading the Jeep more which is something I can get on board with. Now begins the search for a white one with a brown interior...
Oh and she gave official clearance for either a G80 M3 or a Rivian R1T later in the year. Now I need to decide how much I hate the snout on the M3...

Coworker had a Subaru Ass-scent for a little less than a year. It seemed like a pretty nice rig; perfect for moving kids and dogs around with all their ancillary shit that come with. The smartest trick I saw was the way that the rollup privacy cover over the back cargo area is able to pop out, and then store away under the floor on the side. That. is. genius. By far my biggest gripe about the 4Runner and TSX is the fact that the covers become a huge hinderance if you need to pop it out to fit something in the back. Subaru nailed that one.
That'll be a nice ride!

on the Rivian & more Brodozer parts for the JK.
My oldest daughter's GS troop leader has an Ascent (Limited, I think) & she loves it.

Haha, I'm not even sure what parts the Jeep needs to be perfectly honest. I need to get an alignment done and maybe a new front drive shaft that has more articulation range. That's about it at this point.

Clearly, it needs more lights, some 22" wheels & rubber band mud-terrain tires, a 14" lift, ridiculously heavy front & rear bumpers, and probably 2 high lift jacks.

On it. Don't forget the spare water and gas tanks hanging off the back end to make sure I'll be ok driving around town.

All done. Got a 2021 white on brown Ascent Touring on Saturday. The dealer experience was, as expected, terrible (the finance person, our sales person was awesome) but we got out of there for a good price and got a good trade in on the Outback.

To be honest, it has been nice all week but between work, working out, and time with the baby and pup, I have zero time (especially when it's daylight out) to take pics. Will try this weekend.

It's not that you don't have time.
It's that it's not that important.
What the fuck do some guys on the forum need a picture of a stock Assent for anyway.
We can just google.
Plus, part of it is you ain't gonna do it because you were asked sternly. It'll be because you
felt like it when you feel like it IF you feel like it. Hence the little caveat that it was nice out this week.
