Well...the S2000 needed more doors, more driven wheels, and a lot more torque...

Agreed but there still is a lot to be said about rowing through your gears and listening to the engine sound.

In other news, Jeep got a new front driveshaft yesterday. Guy who swapped it said I wouldn't have made it very far down the trail with the condition my old one was in so I'm glad I got this done before Moab in a few weeks.

Me too, can't wait! Should be a good time.

Also, gave the Jeep its first longer freeway drive since I got the alignment done and holy shit does it drive awesome now. I'm beyond glad I didn't just drop $15k on a new JL when a $200 alignment fixed the issue completely. I do want to upgrade the drag link and tie rod to make the steering even better eventually but little bit at a time...

Yep. Especially when you have a 1200 mile drive each way to get to your destination.

I haven't done any frivolous mods to the Jeep. Each and every one is functional and for a reason. Might do a couple here and there but overall I want to keep it simple and functional rather than hardcore mall crawler.

Definitely. I knew I was going to use it and use it hard so it was a must to go Rubicon.

Even though it wasn't for you, at least you can say you had some fun with it for the time you had it.

I did and to be honest with you, I miss it.
I miss almost all my beaters that I have sold but
that was a special one...sounded cool, looked cool and
crawling over shit at the mall was fun.

Can always get another in the future. They're not going anywhere. Just get the Rubicon this time.

Update: Tesla pushed the delivery date for my car out two weeks. Was May 29 - June 17, now June 7-27.

Update 2: Jeep has been fully washed down, stripped, and clay barred to be ready for polish/sealant this week/weekend. Got some 3D Speed AIO at the recommendation of @rockstar143 Also will get an oil change and tire rotation ahead of the trip out west. Super excited!

Finally used the 3D Speed on the Jeep yesterday and loved it. Super easy to work with and got great results. Didn't cut all that much to get the heavier scratches out but I wasn't expecting it to. Got the Jeep all finished up (except for the chalky fenders) this afternoon. Will try and get pics tomorrow. Just needs the oil change and tire rotation and it's ready to rock for Utah.

It wasn't bad enough for it to not look good even up close. Just needed to get a little of the haze and oxidation out along with the minor pin striping from tree branches. There were no swirls or anything in the paint to remove. I'll definitely keep using it. Bonus that it smells like grape laffy taffy.

I leave Saturday. Will first hit dirt on Monday though. Saturday is MSP to North Platte, NE (which I'm sure is a thriving metropolis), then Sunday from there to Grand Junction, CO (which is beautiful), then Monday morning arrive in Moab. Probably won't get many pics out while I'm gone but I'll try!

I meant to buy a drone before this trip but never got around to it. Oh well. I'm going back again in October so maybe I'll have one by then lol.

No way I'm having a $1k drone delivered to the Holiday Inn Express lol.

Still waiting to hear if @SSFTSX is going to join me in Moab with a Honda auto product of his choice to determine real AWD superiority.

That's fine. Getting stuck and idling the whole time counts as 0mpg.

I'm not sure a Pilot could have made it down the access road to the trailhead.

It sure did! Averaged ~16mpg for the 3000ish miles I drove. No hiccups or issues, took it all like a champ. Only damage was I scraped the bumper on a rock. No big deal, some spray paint and we'll be back in business.

It was no MDX on upgraded tires but it did manage to handle itself well up (and more importantly, down) the trails.

Nope, we had a group of seven of us from MN that road tripped out there. All Jeeps except one Lexus GX that was modded to hang with us. They did nearly everything we did and only took on some moderate damage. Tore an axle boot, heavy skid plate damage, and bent (and wore a hole in) their license plate lol.

In other news, Golf was put on the market to see if I could sell private party before the new ride arrives. My guess is I end up trading it but we'll see what happens. At least I tried.
