I love local deals ..
I was searching on OfferUp and found some OEM Audi Sport all season mats (you know .. for all the intense weather we see in SoCal ) for $60 ... had a missing grommet but they were in good condition.
After exchanging a few messages, guy used to own a GIAC Stage 2 tuned B5 back in the day before it was totaled - As for parts, all he had were the sport mats and an OEM RS4 alcantara shift knob. Set a meeting place and walked out for $100.
These 2 items sold separately on the forums ranges from $250-$300 depending on the condition.
Good Saturday
Also .. weather has been on the cooler side ... which is always an excuse to bring the B5 out and beat it
Hope everybody has a safe New year!

Thanks man - the only sore spot interior wise is my driverseat.
Next time you're in SD ... passenger seat has your name on it.

According to Dragy, it hits a 120mph ET ... which is pretty impressive for that power. Torque ftw.

Only way I'd debadge is if I were replacing the emblem itself ... they look pretty bad after being on the car for 20 years

Another interior update:
Picked up a pretty good condition heated driverseat for $50! I had to drive for it .. but, ultimately felt it was worth it
Once this is replaced, I have a few feelers out for replacing some other broken trim pieces. I should have the seat in this week.
Old:
Compared to my old seat - I've debated on repairing it but at the end of the day, the rips are at the seams / too long for a patch kit.
I know I've been saying this for awhile but, I need to piece together my BBK kit. Only thing really remaining is rotors, lines, hardware, and if I wanted to do it right .. full rebuild kit as the calipers have been sitting for almost 2 years.
As of right now, my front AND rear brakes are making noise .. almost sounds like a wheel bearing going out but it only happens under slow braking. As somebody who likes to drive with my windows down, nothing annoys me more
Thanks for reading.

Good for you to keep this thing going. It seriously sounds like it's always on life support lol.
For the broken trim pieces, how broken are we talking? Like just surface cracking or full on destroyed?

$50 is a great price.
But, should've asked for $34.50.

100%
I've actually made it come off after a hard launch
All things considered, this is what you need to do when a car is 20 years old. Rotors / pads are relatively new .. but the calipers themselves need to be rebuilt / replaced. The OEM HP2 calipers are literal garbage ... might as well upgrade

A recent project of mine. It's better for the environment

When I say broken, tabs are broken and the trim piece doesn't really mount correctly. The one that bugs me the most is the one right above the steering column.

Yes, you're right but this car was bound to be worse than many others but you knew that going in so no issue there. Glad you're at least having fun with it!

I will post more pictures as I make progress but, the more exciting update is I'm going further down the rabbit hole. . I want to take my car's power to the next level - currently, the car is quick for what it is, which is essentially full bolt-ons and a turbo upgrade.
The weak point of the 2.7T is it's connecting rods - you're knocking on the door of throwing a rod (more so with aggressive timing down low w/ K04 sized turbos, even more so on ethanol) at around 450wtq. I am making 465wtq on a Mustang dyno
550-575whp is the goal and it'll be done on a budget utilizing stock heads from my 144k mile motor - I realize that budget / built bottom end generally don't belong in the same sentence, but I think my approach of simplicity (Using OEM pistons, OEM bearings, keeping same compression) will keep things simple, while accomplishing a refresh and getting more strength).
My list of items before I'm ready to make that journey happen:
1: Pickup extra 2.7T engine - Done, picking up the motor on Saturday for $150. Yup .. you read that right. 180,000 miles with good compression w/ working heads, will need a slight refresh & new timing components.
2: Purchase rods - Done, cost a whopping $260 shipped. Yes, they're china rods .. but proven to be bang on with little to 0 machining work to be done. There are quite a few documented build threads using these rods and they are closer in weight to one another vs OEM connecting rods. Wrist pins slide in perfectly with OEM pistons.
3: Purchase Glyco rod bearings
4: Purchase Mahle OEM sized piston rings
5: New head studs - might do OEM, or go with ARP.
6: New headgaskets
7: Purchase OEM 2003 RS6 Borgwarner turbos - need modification to fit, or go with another RS6 framed hybrid turbo.
8: Purchase Ringer Racing Stage 3 / 4 Clutch
9: Bosch 1000cc injectors
There is potential for being a need to re-hone / refresh the block if I'm installing new piston rings, which should be a small fee.
This will be my first engine tear down / build up... a bit scary, yes, but I'm also extremely excited.
I'll keep you guys updated
