First time driving the dumpster in about 2 weeks. With COVID going on .. I am looking for excuses to get out and enjoy the open road.

Alignment happened yesterday .. car tracks straight as an arrow. . I took it to a guy recommended by a friend he's totally old school and has done alignments for 45 years. No laser alignment or anything and personalized to my liking. He also has services like full corner balancing and judging by all the pictures on his wall, he's been in the racing scene since the 70s / 80s.

All went well but, I somehow forgot to tighten my front sway bar endlink ... and ... it's gone. . I recall hearing a loud thud / something hitting the undercarriage of my car a few weeks back and ... welp, looks like it was that.

End link will be here today .. looks like I will install it when I have time.

Thanks for reading.

Oh man the end links part of the story had me rolling! Glad it just fell off and didn't cause any damage. That garage is super old school. I can almost smell the musty, oil saturated odor through the computer screen!

It's either the lower bolt sheared, or I simply forgot to tighten it. I want to give myself the benefit of the doubt but I very well could have fucked up

I was a bit embarrassed when he pointed it out to me. Prior to realizing it, I told him I recently did a whole lower arm refresh indicating some sense of pride of DIY but running across that kind of flattened my ego a bit

Either way, guy was super cool and understanding. "You know how many times I've fucked up working on race cars? Yeah, you learn.".

@ end link story. Shit happens. Most of us can probably relate.

I once towed the Accord to my mechanic because it had inexplicably pissed a ton of oil overnight. He lifted the car on the hoist, tightened the oil filter, then brought the car down.

Mechanic: "Who did the last oil change on this car?"
Me:*lie to his face* "Uh... um.... the dealer."

Mechanic: "You shouldn't go back there."

@Marcelechka has been hounding me to get my old wheel setup back and I agree with him - I like my current wheel setup right now, but the old RS4 esque style fits this car so damn well.

Searching Craigslist and I found a *mint* set of B6 A4 Ultrasport wheels. Recently refinished with almost new Federal Summer tires.. 18x8 +43. Once I mount these up and confirm they ride properly, I'll be letting my Team Dynamics wheels go for a similar / higher price.

Pretty excited to throw these things on!

After having black wheels on my TL over a decade ago I realized from a distance it looked like I was on spare tires.
I just don't like the look...even gunmetal is lost on me...I like a nice bright silver wheel that contrasts the color on the car.
I get the stormtrooper look and can appreciate the stealthy look and I won't shit on someone else loving it but it's never
my recommendation.

Agreed ... afterall, OEM+ is always the answer.

One thing I did not like about the Hartmann wheels was .. it didn't really flow well with my black roof whereas I think the Team Dynamics do.

I do plan on getting the roof re-painted but, not a priority at this point - baby comes in less than 2 weeks and I don't really want to throw around $1500-$2000 in paint work.

I'm sure the updated mirror caps / new headlights well help tremendously, though.

New lugs arrive on Friday!

#3 is due sometime in the next 2-3 weeks for us.
Carseat is in the Flex, fits well there without needing to move the seat forward. Would not be the case in the C.

Dude, if you sanded and prepped the roof yourself, I can't imagine a body shop would charge you more than $200 or 300 to spray the roof only.

as a matter of fact if the the color is uniform and the only failure is the clear...you could technically just get away with having them clear it...then you don't have to worry about color matching.
does it look perfect when you wet it with the hose?

Instead of repainting the roof, why don't you wrap it in stainless so those mirror caps actually match something

Congrats on the impending little one! For some reason I thought he/she was already there... Soon enough you'll get to spend that much per month to have someone else watch the baby!

Baby seat has been test fit in the Golf...it fits...barely...I wasn't happy about that. Infant seats are fucking huge to carry around something so tiny.

Really? I was able to make a car seat work during the Abarth era; figure the Golf's cabin would be much roomier with two extra doors?

Sam's just used to having a lot of extra space in his Bugle Boys.
I'm sure you can't relate.

don't worry, as time goes on , the carseat gets smaller.

Our rear-facing Britax that we had for our first 2 was huge, especially in the back of the Civic.
We have a Chicco Fit2 this time & it's definitely smaller F/R length.

It works in there but you have to scoot the passenger seat forward a decent way. It's not uncomfortable by any means but not like it is without the seat back there.

I see how this works. You have a shaggn' wagon to help populate the MDX's 3rd row. Smart. Very smart.

And congrats on the soon to be baby! No better feeling in the world than being a dad. Though my first thought leaving the hospital with our first was I can't believe they're letting me leave this place with this thing when I have no idea what I'm doing.
