I went over it with a fine tooth comb, then had the full monty done at the PPI. I watched the pressure test & stress tests.

I drove it 40 miles in 99 degree heat yesterday, gauge is painted between 1/4 & 1/2. No leaks or any issues.. He just responded he will not pay for the flush. I am going to call corporate and point out if I had not stopped and paid attention they would be paying for a motor.

I am waiting for the dealer a mile down the street from my office (that I am in and hating it) to open to get a quote for both and fluid changes for the differentials & transfer case.

My best guess is it was never checked for years and driven minimally in cool conditions, it was in their possession since February per carfax & the date they transferred the title to them.

A flush and OEM coolant top off and a new programmed key and you'll be on your way.

I seem to have gotten lucky but I agree. I did buy the warranty for just this reason, that I was buying a crapshoot.

I will be doing all the fluids if I can get them to pay at the dealer.

Got the key. It was 343 wtf? Also, what hazardous waste is there in cutting a key & programing an ECU?????

That's usually how much dealer charges for a key.

Seems excessive seeing as the key itself can be had for 20 bucks (I got one yesterday identical to the one I got from the dealer) I'm waiting for two more I ordered to program them myself.

How about that hazardous charge? What was disposed of? The key filings from cutting the key????

:P

Did you run it by the other guy that's paying for it for approval?

Every step of the way. I called the dealer at 7am when they opened. Got a 225 quote. When I got there there was a problem reading the ECU & the slots were full so it needed a full wipe so it became 330 (plus tax)

I called as I was waiting (obviously I was doing it either way) and he said just send me the receipt.

He won't do the flush, I'll get over it & do it and all the fluids myself.

Also, first strut assembled.

I wish I lived closer to you.
You are fun.

Glad you were reasonable to deal with on the key.
Not being able to read the ECU is probably why the valet key was the only thing included to begin with.

I'm always reasonable (as long as the person I'm dealing with is not a douche)

lol

Now that It's fixed I should be able to code the three keys I bought myself, the first came yesterday. Indistinguishable from the dealer key for less than 1/2 (20 vs 42.74)

Also, I finished programing the remote start when I got home. Happy that is done.

I'd love to. Unfortunately, the rear springs I paid for are unavailable until (per Vivid Racing 6/30) but per Dobinsons 7/15. Also the tires suck and I want 18" rims (20s really)???

Seems excessive for a cut & program on a key.
$260 in labor?!? Not sure on the process for a Yota, but GM, it takes all of 5 seconds to program a key.

I'm a little disappointed he pointed that out before it was on the truck.
FRS was a pretty funny one.
You have a thing...you can't be trusted with springs.
Do they sell a lower grill insert that matches the upper upgrade?

Light bars go on the roof toyoboi. Peasant 4Runners have to cram light bars into any random hole they have to shove it into.

On the topic of springs, I've never seen a tool like that. Sure beats tightening spring compressors on the ground.

Thanks, do you mean the grate in the bumper?

Here's what a 2021 looks like, really all that's different is the fogs I think (I have fogs to replace the glazed over fogs that are there)

your new grill doesn't look like that up top...
wondering if they make a bottom one to match what you have on yours.

PANELS!

It's weird, they match the bumper perfectly but seem off with the rest of the truck. The back bumper is the same, I never noticed it before.

Difference between painted metal & painted plastic?

I remember a girl in college with an MR-S that was 4 or 5 shades of yellow due to paint taking to different materials, OE & body shop after she'd gotten some mild body damage.

I'm thinking it's the plastic & light.

Don't care, loooove it!

If I could, I'd do Tundra 86'd for an 86 which was 86'd for a Sequoia.

I was never indecisive, I just became disappointed with the 86, also, I told the salesman I would regret the purchase when I bought it. THAT'S DECISIVE!!!!!
