Just got the truth of why my truck is not moving. They were offering too little $. Salesman just said they increased the pay trying to get someone to pick it up.

Offering too little money to ship it? Isn't that just a matter of getting quotes and picking one? Can't imagine they'd park it on the street corner with $500 and a note that says take this to AZ.
There was a TV show about this. The dealers don't have trucks or established shippers, per se. They use some hauler website, sort of like eBay for OTR Bubba's and they put out what the cargo is and where it's going from/to. Then people grab the job and git er dun.
Which should make you feel real good about the sort of care the shipper takes with your car. It's literally the lowest bidder trying to turn and burn as much as possible so they can pick up some more meth and a toothless blowie at the TA Truck stop down the road

Like Uber eats, but for cars.
Evidently they weren't enticing enough.
This is what he finally admitted.

My point exactly.

Ya, it is insane a gigantic company like AutoNation is being so cheap on this.
firstly, I called 1 place that unleashed my telly on a billion shippers websites and lists to call me incessantly for a month or two...
the one I settled on was recommended by the seller. Was supposed to be first drop off of the day and ended up being the last.
Couldn't figure out why and why it was set on the top of the truck where I couldn't see the roof. Dropped off, signed for it and
washed it and immediately was like MAN, what are these massive divots in the roof line with touch up paint on them?
Had to fight HARD to get them to pay for the repair.
Lucky for me seller took pics when it was loaded up.
Full size van rode on top of it bouncing the ramps onto it the whole way from OK to FL.
if you want this vehicle. you will put those dogs down this afternoon and head to the airport.
I'm just saying you can't be 1 foot in 1 foot out when you want to make something happen.
Put out a request on DogWatcherContracting.net and see if you can find someone that wants to take the job for $15. If that doesn't work, maybe up it to a reasonable dollar figure.
If Dirty Mike responds and asks if he could have the boys over while he's watching... Just say no. NancyReagan.gif

Most rental companies specifically exclude having animals in their cars. My Shepherd has long white hair, this is less than 24 hours (Rumba runs every 12) in one room that she spends almost no time in.
Anyone ever use a transport company they can suggest? (not one that sucks) Suggestions? I need to find this myself apparently.
I called one, attempted to explain I have been waiting for AutoNation to ship for a week, he cut me off saying they sell cars, not ship. I again attempted to state shipping is part of the deal, he called me ignorant. I hung up.

Yes. Delta airlines and then myself. Buy me a plane ticket there and back and I'll go drive it to AZ for you, I could use a vacation lol.

That sounds great!
It seems there is a cutthroat unregulated industry moving vehicles, from entering my info in that first site, I have had no less than 100 texts, emails & phone calls. They are offering the service easily and pickup within two days for 700-1300 bucks. Some want a 265 deposit now, some other amount upon pickup. All say delivery within 4 days but their boilerplate fine print says 5-15 days for pickup.
One I spoke to said the clearinghouse that all use has my job listed at 1200 and gave me a phone number and bill of lading number. I called and indeed they are having difficulty finding a transporter (where is Jason Stratham when I need him)???
Seeing as it is their business to do this and they don't get paid unless they deliver it I doubt they are lying when they say East Texas to Phoenix is an out of the way route & the others are lying when they say it's a common easy route.
I guess I need to wait and if it does not get done, I can fly there May 4th after my wife gets home. (If I survive)
I was thinking something similar... Hell, just getting the damn thing to Houston would probably make it MUCH more likely to get picked up. Houston to PHX is a straight shot.
I just got this voice mail, I'm so happy, I'll overlook my misspelled name!
“Hey Stephen this is ___ __ Kaiser right talk to you this morning about your vehicle anyway we now have a carrier to move it for you um they're going to pick it up from purpose Chris the tomorrow the 21st ___ should be the right thing I need probably a no later than Saturday so um any questions on this you can call me back at 866-921-xxxx thanks…”
Corpus is about 5 hours from my house. CC to PHX is roughly 16 hours.
Maybe if I didn't have a 7 mo old, I could make the same offer as Sam...

Also CC to PHX is 16 hours??? Fuck TX is huge.
Google maps said it's a 15-hour drive from their address to my house.
You guys are awesome! Thanks but it seems there's light at the end of the tunel!
That's fucking nuts. I remember when I was travelling to El Paso for work a number of years ago I was thinking of going to Austin for the F1 race...until I found out the drive there was like 9 hours each way or something nuts like that.

Yep, a full 1/2 of the drive is getting across TX. And once you clear SA, there's nothing to see, flat & straight.
The first 2 times we made the drive, it was in my grandmother's 2007 S550. 28mpg at 97mph
Last time, it was in the Flex.
I've driven Jersey here...
here Elgin IL
Elgin here
Lausanne Paris Aosta back
here LA
and then 1700 and 2000 mile trips IN CA/NM/AZ/UT because wifey loves the desert.
I just love dessert.
