You seem more patient.
I'm personally proud of your growth.

I'm saying that I admire your follow through in putting the screws to people that don't follow through and don't do what they say they are going to do.
They are so used to getting away with it because they know 95% of people will allow it and go quietly into the night. Nothing is ever done about it.
Personally I love that you had a CEO barking at someone and getting annoyed and telling them to DO THEIR DAMN JOB to make you go away.
Screw them...they should do business that way without provocation or threads or repercussions.

I used to manage claims for the company I work for...I know how to get action. "I'm sorry, who is your governing body?" I can't tell you how many times
I have had cell phone bills and cable bills rectified by putting in executive complaints to the FCC.

That's what I thought but just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

Funny you bring up the FCC.

I was with Nextel from the late 90s until after IDEN network was taken down. At the end I was living in Mexico and needed it to communicate with my family all of whom had phone/radios.

I was paying Boost 10 bucks a month to keep the number and mostly not using it. When Sprint killed the network here (it's still up in Mexico) my account had over 300 bucks in it and Boost could not fulfill their side.

I argued up to corporate, got nowhere, and filed an FCC complaint which eventually got me my refund.

Also, in my house, let me speak to a manager causes everyone to scatter.

lol

I have the illusion of being boss intra-family. Externally I’m the boss.

Got the panels, dropped them at the bodyshop, came home & the front springs and original panels were delivered although I called FedEx and asked them to return them.

Good news bad news.

I have it, it runs & drives, goes into all 4WD modes fine BBBBUT. It thinks it's overheating.

First time it gave the error, I freaked, pulled over and checked the coolant. Little low but not by alot. When I started it back u, back to normal. Drove slowly, it goes to hot & goes back to the middle on it's own.

I informed the dealer, they will take it in and fix it. I will be looking for more issues and have an appointment tomorrow for a full PPI

Good thing I'm replacing the headlights, I'd be pissed I need to if I were not. These are way worse than the ones in my 2010 that had 40k more miles when I replaced the lights.

Have they looked into the overheating issues yet? I'd probably slow down on the mods until that's figured out.

I found it over a gallon low on coolant last night, that was the overheating issue.

I took it for the PPI.

The only issues are the third row inside seat retraction button does not work on the passenger side & the windshield washer pump is dead. I'll replace them myself. Easier than dealing with someone else making me drop it off/get it back etc.

I'm glad I got wheels!

The shelf unit was in the way, I moved it over & there is barely room!

I installed the remote start, plug & play, easy install. It needs to be programmed & just refused. I watched the video 5 times looking for what I was doing wrong. Turns out I am using the valet key which is a no go. Asshats sent me ONLY A fucking valet key!

They need to send a pre set up master or pay to have one made. This is bullshit!

Actual email, just sent to the Area manager, dealer GM & salesMANAGER:

Gentlemen,

I picked up the truck Friday, after a few miles it overheated. I filled the empty overflow and it seemed ok, then acted like it was only saying it was overheated. The 17 mile trip took almost an hour because I had to keep pulling over.

After I got home and It cooled down I opened the radiator and added SIX QUARTS, it holds 14.

Shame on you for selling a truck that did not have its coolant checked.

I have a video of the overheating warning should you like to see it.

Yesterday I took it for a PPI, that was fine but I also tried to have a key made at a locksmith and he could not BECAUSE YOU GAVE ME THE VALET KEY.

Only a dealer (per the locksmith) can make keys that will do everything from a valet key and it seems I can’t lock the glovebox or open the tailgate with this key.

Renee said your used cars are fully functional but as far as keys go you give what you got. I submit a valet key does not a fully functional vehicle make and you need to pay for a master key.

I have to say from start to (hopefully) finsh this has been the worst customer experience I have ever had and I lived in Mexico for 5 years where the customer service mantra is we don’t car go away if you don’t like us.

Please let me know what dealer I need to take the truck to for the key to be made.

Blend Mount & Escort 360c are in.

Captain chairs & 3rd row stowed. It's shocking the amount of room the back rows have. All three have vents for the HVAC & that all recline/slide back & forth.

Holy fuck! a reasonable response!

Mr. X,

My apologies for the overheating experience. I certainly had no idea there may have been an issue.

Please send me the bill for the coolant. I will be glad to reimburse you for the purchase of the six quarts of coolant. Again, my sincere apology.

Rene is accurate as it pertains to the keys. We normally will only provide the customer with what we receive from the previous owner. However, in this case I agree that the valet key is insufficient. Please take the vehicle to the nearest Toyota store to you. All I ask is that prior to having them perform any work please submit the estimate via email for my review and approval.

Aside from these issues I hope you enjoy the vehicle.

Nope, not a fan boi. I said I used cheap coolant as I intend to have it flushed and correct Toyota coolant installed & he is welcome to pay for that when the dealer does the key. Still waiting for a response but I did not expect a response today in the first place.

Why is everyone glazing over the fact that you were short a whole damn gallon?
Any smoke? Did you pull the dipstick to check for milkshake before slapping all that nice stuff on it?
A gallon of coolant doesn't just disappear...both fans coming on? Thermostat appear to be working?

Don't put the cart before the horse.

With that said, I like the resolution on the key but I would hold them to paying for whatever the resolution is
on WHY you had put in 6 quarts of coolant. If it's a rad leak, hose leak, thermostat...whatever.
Dear God not a head gasket leak (doubt it)
I would have Toyota run a legit pressurized diagnostic and replace the water pump and tstat on their dime
if it's questionable. A grand to make you go away would be money well spent in their eyes.

Also, I have decided you always touch a car before you pay for it. Even if you fly in to see it and do paperwork
and then ship.
With that said, congrats...it was alright when you picked it up but it's gorgeous with what you've already done to it.

This.

Sight unseen shipping a used car seems like a disaster to me and I'd never do it. Only for a new car. I'd go so far as to find a friend in the area to check it out before I pulled the trigger. Good part of being part of large car forums is that many of the larger metro areas are well covered with fellow car nuts.
