I declined the coverage and they offered bumper to bumper for the 936 including AC ECU & all electrical systems for the same price. works out to 38 bucks a month, if a switch dies I'll make up for that

Dude... It's a Toyota with 126k... Take the $2k and put it in the bank... Flog the hell out of the truck in the first 5 days you have to return it and if it survives, you're good to go until 250k. Except at the rate you're flipping them, it's barely break 150k.

Smart money in the bank.

What are the typical pain points in that drivetrain? I'm under the impression they're pretty stout, so I'm not sure I'd do it.

Normally I agree.

I had to agree not to flip this one for at least 3 years.

Also, I am taking it from delivery to my mechanic, if it passes the next three days will entail lots of system verification.

See below.

Yup, the powertrain is bulletproof if properly maintained so I declined and then he added everything including AC, and all electrical components. 2 door switches, the ones that control the lights/systems that tell the truck the door is closed was 52 bucks for the 86.

I figured the switches alone make it worthwhile and if/when the AC comprssor/starter/whatever goes I'll feel pretty dumb out there in 1,000,000 degree Az heat r&ring anything when I coulda dropped it off for 200 bux.

I just ripped the Kenwood camera harness, my 8 channel high quality (no longer available) RCAs, the hood lifts and Sirius antenna out.

Got the damn antenna all the way free, needed to cut a wire tie I had securing it to the trunk & fucking cut the wire.

Swap ya for my Oklahoma beachfront condo!

My main concern is the transmsission/transfercase/ 4x electronics (in the drivetrain)

There are waterpump & starter/alternator concerns as well as misc electronics.

Also, if I had to wrench in August when it's 117 and I coulda shelled out 200 bucks I'll be pissed.

I'ma risk losing the we bet it won't break sweepstakes. I blow more a year on 4K blue rays and other nonsense.

Normally I agree. for less than I have already spent on mods (don't tell) and since it covers everything I'm betting there will be more than 2k in repairs over the next two years.

I honestly hope I don't need it and am willing to lose the money because I feel like if I don't I'll be under the truck in August when the current heat record is being broken (122) sweating balls r&ring the starter or water pump (both known weak points) cursing my cheapness.

But normally I say fuck no to warranties of all kinds.

Ordered the harness & passenger headlight, it says it's platinum (silver trim) like the one I already had that was supposed to be SR5 (black) which is why no one bought it.

We'll see.

What are the thoughts on these?

IMO, those window panels are tacticool. Some people like them for bolting their Rambo stuff to... But I've never seen the appeal.

If you really wanted to keep zombies out, you'd weld bars to the outside. Otherwise, all those do is block your field of view.

Well, that's enough reason to get them, I guess.

They'll resell quick if/when you want to get rid of them, so it's not a big gamble.

You'll need to get the blackout American flag decals to cover up the outside of the window though.

Just posted no longer available in my for sale thread for the other headlight and saw a response I had missed that makes me wonder about the intelligence of people.

Guy asked about the light, about fitment and the need for a harness, I answered his questions and then asked f he was interested.

If you just spent over a grand on a different set of lights WHY THE FUCK are you wasting my time????

An executive texted me a few weeks ago asking about adding memory to her laptop. I looked it up on Dells service page and found the 16gb module she needed and sent her the link.

I had a 12:30 appointment Thursday and she wandered in about 1:30 (while I was on a call) and gave me the laptop & memory.

Second to the machine that was home to dozens of roaches, this is the worst I have seen in a while.

The rear window or trans tunnel hanger?

No tool. I finally got it out with a cut wire tie I forced in there.

You don't need any of that shit. Get a good quality life, some good tires, skid plates, and some rocker guards.

Oh, and the TOYOTA grille, because that's 10000% important. srs.

I will be getting a grill to match the '18+ headlights. The problem is my color does not seem to be available.

Black makes the most sense unless I want to get it painted. (in which case I'd get white).

Currently, the only written documentation I have has the right vin but says 2 wheel drive.

They claim it's a system glitch and the truck is a 4X which I'm not arguing. I'm saying I want documentation from them that says that. Am I being unreasonable?

Yup, I am aware the VIN says it's as described and I am not disputing it has all these features, I am just saying their paperwork says otherwise and I'd appreciate something that correctly reflects.

They have purportedly FedExed the real documentation needing signatures and finalizing the transfer, which I find odd considering we sold Mom's house over Zoom and via DocuSign.

They just seem really antiquated and kind of oddly nonchalant about a 25k transaction done over the ether.

Here's a good one.

I offered a bunch of parts on FT86, I have sold a few, on each I offered Zelle, PP with friends & family or paying the fee. One guy says that is illegal. I say don't buy it and his response is someone on the site said I'm an asshole.

Fun times.

I need a few clips & screws for the grille install, I give the PNs and he quoted me 7 bucks, as they are .25 & .71 each from my local Toyota dealer I think that's all of it and I place the order. He responds that's one screw.

I say guess this is what being screwed feels like and ask him to cancel the order.

Heres 6 clips & 4screws picked up locally:
