I'm keeping my username but I suppose that would be the next logical one
Alas, it's time to move on from the TL. It's been a good 7 years but I finally purchased the car I've been dreaming of for over a decade, a S2000. This example is a two-owner 2005 with 95k miles.
The TL will be parted out and sold. Most parts are spoken for minus the 18x8.5 A-Specs.
Window tint should happen soon and I would love to replace the headunit with something that supports iPod connectivity and Bluetooth. I'm sure more will happen eventually but my wife-to-be has threatened my life if I dump money into this car like I did the TL
Goodbye old friend

CL needed a new main relay, properly diagnosed by @civicdrivr . Got a fresh battery installed, along with an alignment, and she's good to go
I abandoned my OEM+ roots and got a Revel (Tanabe) Medallion Touring-S exhaust. I traded my stock exhaust plus a hilariously low amount of cash and couldn't be happier.
A week after the install, it was time for the second annual Tail of the Dragon weekend with some Acurazine members. Unlike last year, I was able to finally drive the Dragon and had a great time. It was rather cold in the morning, but warmed up nicely as the days went on.
I was certainly one of the slowest vehicles in our group, but still had a killer time.
Proof that I actually drove the Dragon this year :rofl
Just hit 155k the day after getting home from the trip.
I'm hoping to get some new items for the car before next year's trip, listed below, but we'll see what happens.
-Ohlins Coilovers
-Eibach F/R Sway Bars
-New Set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
-New Differential Mounts

Clean example. Nice find man. I was looking at one as well but anything local to me beat to shit. It also can't be my DD as we have 6+ months of snow on the ground a year so i would have to get another vehicle

Sad to see the end of the TL but damn does the S2K look awesome. You really don't have to do much to it because it already looks great. Maybe just tint, leds, coils, wheels, hardtop, lip kit, exhaust, turbo, a few small things and you'd be in business.

Congratulations Tyler, it is a stellar choice, I truly love the Honda S2K ever since I drove TommySalami's car, loved the nimbleness and the high rpm band.
Soo your-wife-to-be-aside why does it still look stock?
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission, go , go go!!

Wife to be is probably right, keeping the car stock will keep its value up.
Certain mods appeal to certain people but a bone stock (other than basic things like stereo headunit, tints, etc) S2k will almost always bring in more money than a modded one.

I have fond memories of my 2001 S2K, first car I ever purchased new, what an event. I remember driving it off the lot, then stopping after about 2 blocks, jumping out and taking a good look again. Yes, it was real, she was mine, and I was in heaven.
Congrats sir.

Yep, it's the DD. My fiancee has a 2011 Elantra and we'll be purchasing a beater truck once the TL is sold so we have something capable of weekend trips to Lowe's.
Thank you!
Thanks Maker! The TL is still fantastic, it just wasn't a S2k. Even with the aftermarket parts removed, someone will great an extremely well cared for vehicle.
Thank you!
I had driven a stick 4 times in my life before test driving the S2k on Tuesday. I did really well on the way to work today but I'm not ready to tackle a track day anytime soon. I'm just happy to have one
I still can't say that I exactly like them but they were free and they're different. They're going to another TL owner so they'll be around for a while longer to haunt you in your sleep
Sadly it has to go. It hasn't been easy letting it sit outside when all I wanted was to have it in the garage just a few months back
She's hated Acurazine for 7 years, especially when I dragged her ass to Kansas for the National Meet in 2011
I'm a car person. She knows it makes me happy so she supports me; she just doesn't like how it eats away at my wallet. I told her to be nice about me modding the S2k if she wants me to have any money to my name when we combine bank accounts
Herra tints yo.
Thanks Bryan!
I'm already planning everything out but I honestly love it as-is. Well, minus the radio. It's shit.
Indeed it is, Craig! Thank you sir
The TL truly has been great but this was meant to be. I had the TL for a week in 2008 and nearly traded it for a 2004 S2000, but decided I wanted back seats. After hardly ever using the rear seats for the last 7 years, I figured it was time.

Mods will happen! They will. I promise. Just not anytime soon. The house is being painted at the end of the month and the wedding is less than 3 months away. I'm just happy to have the car in general
Whatever I do, it'll be an OEM+ look. Drop, spacers, lip, maybe catback, but that's about it. Clean and classy. I got sick of the black elements on the TL about a year ago but was too lazy to swap them out. Live and learn!
Thanks, Yummy
Do it!
Thank you Steven! Yeah, it'll be hard to see it go, but at least you got to see it in person! That'll be a trip I'll never forget! Plus, who says I can't bring the S2k to a National Meet in the future?

CONGRATS! You are joining a special fraternity of owners. This is a special car. You will always remember it for the rest of your driving life, whether you keep it for the long term or not. Nothing else drives quite like a S2000.
Yours looks to be a clean, well-kept example. They say 95k is just broken in on a S2000, and believe me when I say they are dead reliable. You shouldn't have any problems with it.
Your 3G TL was a gem, too. I'm sure you will miss it.....until you hit 8k in your S2000 on your way to work.
