The A8L is a car that's number one on my list. Such a smooth ride and lots of power too. An oil change for an A8 at an Audi dealership is soooo high. I think its because of certain things that need to be removed in order to complete the oil change that our cars don't have to worry about. I'm pretty sure you'll be changing the oil yourself tho.

Well he didn't say he was arrested but he said he was dui-ing it so I'll assume that the police that showed up on the scene realized they were drunk when dealing with them.

There one modded one that drives around my area and sounds nothing short of a super car.

I've never heard a DUI story that didn't involve a suspended license. I'm assuming OP was arrested, and is now out on some chump change bail.

We've had this conversation before. Only crazy people with more money than commom sense buy A8's new. Nothing wrong with Ballin' on a budget, I have an A8 for sale thats about 80% off MSRP, from the outside no one can tell it has 90K on the odometer.

People like you disgust me. A long-time family friend of ours lost both of his children to a drunk driver in 1989 and his wife has never been the same because of it. She has suffered from chronic depression and alcoholism for years. Because of that crash, I have absolutely ZERO tolerance for people who think it's okay to drink and drive. You are a selfish, arrogant person who only thinks about himself and hopefully you can take the time to grow up, learn, and think about the consequences of your actions beyond yourself. Thank God you didn't kill anybody else this time. And if you are stupid enough to get boozed up again and wrap your next car around a tree, you won't see me shed a tear if it kills you.

I'll add what I can since I'm bored at work:
A month or so ago I was at a party and a close friend of mine who can usually handle her alcohol pretty well overdid it more than normal. Long story short she REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to drive herself home. I had maybe one or two drinks about 3 hours before and I was feeling sober so I offer to drive her home. I'd even drive her car and find my own way back to get mine so she'd have it in the morning. However, being so gone and kind of a belligerent drunk, she only wants to drive herself. By now it's late and I have work in the morning and I really just want to go home but I can't in good conscience leave knowing she might get herself into trouble, so I take her keys until she calms down enough and let's someone drive her home. It took a couple hours of her crying and whining but it had to be done because it isn't worth the risk.
Recently though, she was at another party under similar circumstances, except this time I wasn't there because I wasn't in town. She drove herself home and was still kind of drunk. She didn't hurt anyone but did get pulled over and the officer was VERY VERY VERY lenient and let her off since he pulled her over right next to her house and was only slightly intoxicated. She dodged a bullet, albeit less of a bullet than the OP of this thread but yea. I really hope she learned from it and I honestly think she did.
It's a shame that some people have to learn these lessons the hard way, especially in the OP's case where there's a severe accident and not just a warning from a cop.
I feel that all the harsh stuff being said to him really isn't necessary since I'm sure he already feels like shit. Hopefully he doesn't make that choice again.
Also in my opinion about the friend who let him drive drunk: it really isn't his fault. It's hard to guage how drunk your friends are unless you've been watching them drink the entire night and know how much they've had. People are responsible for their own actions and while I would suck it up and do something to stop my friends from driving drunk, in the end I don't think it'd be my fault if I didn't. You can't expect people to be watchful of their friend's behavior 100% of the time.

Big difference here is that he was a lot older and had a clean record for 10 years. He also wasn't going 100+, crashed his car and had a passenger in the car.
My feeling is that OP is fucked. If he comes back and say that he got off with a slap on the wrist, then I will call BS.

I see I missed all the excitement.
I hope we all learned something from the OP.
a) Don't drink and drive.
b) If you do, don't cop to it on the Web. You'll get flamed and someone could report it to the local constabulary. I wouldn't, but some would.

Damn that car looks rough.
As established, this was a dumb choice but I couldn't tell you ONE person I knew in college that didn't drive home at some point or another after drinking too much. I personally was always scared to but ended up driving home under a mile after a football and while I felt I was ok, I probably shouldn't have driven and will never do it again. Yes, this guy shouldn't have driven 100 but then again he shouldn't have driven at all. Alcohol doesn't exactly make you smart but luckily no one was hurt and hopefully he learned a valuable lesson.
As for Slushy, he is too young to be exposed to having to make this choice on a regular basis and currently lives in a 'perfect' world. I remember being younger and never understanding why anyone would ever drive drunk but then I hit college where I saw everyone do it.

I learned a long time ago to not have my car keys on me when I drink which is pretty rare these days. If I have my keys on me, I know I'm going to think it's ok to drive so I just don't put myself in that situation. Many of my friends are CHP so there's always a plan and the DD gets everyone's keys at the beginning of the night. It's just so much easier to get people to give up the keys when they're sober. And to the little friend that was afraid of taking the keys, I've had a couple beligerent drunk friends take swings at me over keys. It's no big deal compared to what could happen if they drove. You should protect your friends first and the next morning have it out with them.
The very few times I ever drank and drove when I was young, I was driving better than I did sober. The thought of doing 100+mph when drunk blows my mind. If you just HAVE to do it, it only makes sense to be on your best behavior. Don't take this the wrong way, I in no way condone it.
As for the OP, I could care less if he was drunk and flipped his car, it's the innocent people that I care about. I can tell you one thing, if you hurt my family from drunk driving you better hope the police find you first.
