Almost didn't get this in time. The opposing light was turning yellow just as I saw it so I barely had time to get my phone out of my pocket and snap this pic. Split rear window 'Vette.

Random story for the day- but my grandpa had a 1967 split window Corvette sting ray. It was silver like the one in that pic. He had it in the barn on his property and in 1970 I believe, the barn mysteriously caught on fire while he was out of town...Corvette and all. He's still bitter about it.

I would be too, quite honestly. Though the only year for the split rear window was the '63 Stingray. One of the engineers got his way and it was changed to a single-piece window for '64.

Then it was a 63. And it must've been burned to the ground in 1967 since that year sticks in my head for some reason. Im gonna rumage through some old pics next time I'm at his house. Either way, one rare and beautiful car. Hardly ever see them.

Nice catch.

Weißrot BMW Logo?

I saw one of these driving in my area. It's a BMW M3, and the BMW logo is red and white, instead of the usual blue and white.

Anyone ever seen this before? This is the only time I've ever seen the BMW logo like this.

not quite from the seat of my car... I was on my bike on a trip and taking the ferry back to the mainland when this drove in. Mint condition, original owner and is the real thing. It is a Morgan and I cannot remember the year of the car.

Amazingly enough, I was leaving the neighborhood yesterday and it drove right past me again. I found out it lives less than 2 minutes from me.

I've seen one once. It was in Germany though, the owner said he didn't like Bavarians (yet drove a car from Bavarian Motor Works)

The blue/white roundel is a symbol from the old Bavarian flag.

That has long been debated, however I tend to buy into that theory much more than the propeller idea... I don't understand how you couldn't like Bavarians though, they are the only ones who know how to make a good beer in Germany.

Bavarian. BMW=originated in German state of Bavaria. The colors of the BMW roundel are the same colors of Bavaria's state flag. The design is supposed to be the blades of a helicopter as that's where BMW originated- helicopter engines.

Saw this Lotus today....not crazy about the color. I also saw a 911 GT3RS in black with orange trim but couldn't get the camera ready in time.

Caught this in the Home Depot parking lot today. I never would have thought red with black accents could look good but man I was at this thing.

I see swirl marks!

sweet! The new GT500 is all kinds of awesome... it's faster than an R8 V10 around VIR. A few hundredths of a second slower than a Z06, and a few hundredths faster than the C6 GS.

It's probably the best American muscle car out there today and for (sometimes) a third the price of its supposedly 'better' competition. Not to mention the 2011 is the best looking 'Stang in years if you ask me.

Completely agree.

It's kinda far away in the future, but I'll be sad when fossil fuel-powered cars go away. There's just something about the smell of burnt gasoline and the ground pounding rumble of a big V8. I know whatever technology that eventually becomes the norm will be better/more efficient/friendlier to the environment but still.

The high pitch scream of a sportbike or high revving 4-cylinder like an S2000.... or like that Exige a few posts up.

The banshee wail of a Ferrari, raucous roar of a Lamborghini... etc.

New GT500 FTW.

I saw these last week:

Vette was fully restored. Not a swirl in the paint.
