^ Yesterday. But yeah, I've seen tons of them going up there in the morning. Makes the commute a lot more interesting.

I guess I need help with this one. S550 AMG(?) All the pics I find have S63 or S65 on the left of the trunk, but this one had S550. The wheels were the same as the S63 though. Any ideas on year/model?

^ Isn't there an AMG appearance package for the S550 that's strictly looks no performance upgrade?

you guys suck, I scoured the web looking at photos of the S550 with AMG package even after first I closed the window and stopped looking initially. and from what I thought and what I think is true, the AMG badge was stuck on that car. I did not find any photos of the S550 with AMG package that have the AMG badge in the rear. I believe that's reserved for the AMG-specific performance models. and, I don't think those are S63 wheels. It's definitely not one of the AMG models, you can tell by the exhaust for sure.

I've seen a few S550s around here with the AMG badge on it. I was always like, wtf, but then I got on the Mercedes website. If you select the "AMG Appearance Package", it includes the different bumpers and wheels and such, and the badge is put on as well.

What is it with Texas traffic lights? You folks can't have them up and down like the rest of us?

ETA: And, "AMG" badge with no AMG under the hood? Bad form MB, bad form.

I might actually benefit from up and down lights.

As it is now, I can't see any lights. I have to rely on other drivers most of the time.

They come with wheel package, but badge isn't part of it.
It probably was the owner bought the amg badge and put it on himself.

yes, those are amg wheels that you can get as amg appearance package without getting "real" S63 amg.

I know what you meant. I was just playing dumb.

The only places I can think of these lights around here are on a highway where the light is around a corner. They will put these up before the corner so they can be seen early. Other than that, we only really get horizontal ones.

Gotcha. It's been a while since I've been to Texas, but I remember seeing more than a few of the traffic lights that were horizontal and thinking - "When did I cross the border into Norway?" Anyway, I was just screwing around with this. [/derail]

You're dead on for central TX. They are all horizontal here. Marble runs in DFW IIRC.

In the Dallas Metroplex, the majority are all horizontal as well. That's a pretty interesting observation, though. I looked back through my Orlando & Vegas pictures & never noticed they're vertically setup as well.

I've seen 2 STi's in the past 2 days. They are nowhere near as rare as they used to be. But I still love them, beautiful cars. Just saying.

Also, on my way home from work today, I noticed that every single light was horizontal lol

I feel like I'm too old for an STI or an Evo. I dunno, I drooled and dreamed of having one in high school but that quickly faded.

Seen today in a N. Scottsdale parking lot (looks like our winter visitors are bringing Ferraris instead of RV's these days):
