Yeah, I used to drive 45-90 minutes each way to and from work, since getting my new job last year my commute has dropped to 15-20 mins each way, also we usually take my fiancee's Subaru more than my car just because it's better on gas and she hasn't been drinking as much lately since she had gall bladder issues. The 4Runner definitely gets a LOT less miles now than when I was driving everywhere in my 08 and 03, that's for sure.

Well, that's a plus. BTW, the Subie must drive more car-like anyway.
Well, we didn't get the blizzard we were promised which was supposed to be around a foot of snow, but we did get between 4-5" of snow. I couldn't help but think how my roof rack and bronze rims would look buried in all that salt and snow lol
We had single digit temps yesterday and today, but I was dead set on swapping out my buggy remote start with the new one that I purchased, so yes I cleared off my truck in single digit temps with negative windchill and ripped my dash apart (again)
Aside from some busted bloody knuckles from it being so cold I got the bad remote starter removed and the new plug and play starter installed and programmed pretty quickly. No more electrical gremlins from the crappy kit I had in there. Didn't take any pictures because it was so F'ing cold, but I got it done!
They would probably look pretty badass covered in all that snow and salt. I mean I bet the wheels are aluminum and the rack is either stainless steel or aluminium that has been powdercoated with stainless hardware.
If it is powdercoated correctly with no small holes in the coating then the salt won't eat the powder coating. You could also do nickel coated stainless steel or titanium hardware if you are worried about regular stainless steel and the salt.
I understand. I was just trying to help you with getting good mounting hardware that is better suited to your conditions to help prevent any rust once they are on.
lol I have good mounting hardware thanks, I just don't understand why you constantly want to argue with me about this shit. I spent a ton of money on the roof rack, it will be on in 2-3 months, I don't understand why you always insist that it should be taking unnecessary abuse in this shit weather. Obviously it will be a concern next year, but it won't be "brand new" anymore and I won't care as much. Same thing with my wheels. Nobody looks at my truck with 5 inches of snow on it and says, why the fuck does he have the stock wheels on there lol. And I'm happy that my "good wheels" are safe in the garage and away from salt damage and potholes for a couple months. I'd love to see you take that NSX and those nice ass wheels out on snowy/salty roads, just sayin
We just want to know why ur such a pansy.
If you know your anus will take a pounding next year, do you still bother to worry about whether or not you drop the soap in the shower this year?
pics of your hardware?!?! We won't believe your hardware is up to the task!
Glad you got the remote start sorted out, man...I'm hoping you were able to at least keep the heat on in the truck while you worked although I doubt it with the dash apart.
When I did test the start I did sit in the car and run the heat for like 5 minutes though because it was so F'ing cold. I kept going in the house for short breaks to warm up before then.
I was just trying to get the job done. I did have multiple layers on at least. There was too much ice and snow everywhere to be playing with extension cords

I haven't had the weather here yet to do it since I have had it but hey here are some of the other rides out in it since you asked
