That's scary, Mocky.

Okay, soooo...there's no power steering fluid on this car. Guess they did away with it like the vtec blinker fluid.

Got the valve adjustment/plugs/gasket/antifreeze swap done last night. Got the JDM black H's on today...took some serious elbow grease, goof off, wetsand and polish to get rid of the oem "H" hologram and glue...at least I know it's all original and even bumper covers have never been repainted!

Removed checkvalve delay, adjusted clutch pedal...coupled with the fluid, holy shit this car is a dream to drive. Butter smooth, precise, pedal feels strong, clutch feels strong...everything feels direct. Absolute BLAST.

Tomorrow morning... I'll be on H&R Street Performance Coilovers...Fuck yes.

I've been debating on doing the checkvalve removal - how is it?

Wasn't too bad...opted to do it how I did for the TL to get the c-clip out...cut a channel on the side with the dremel, then put a dab of rtv in it when I was done.

Hmmm...in reading Billman's threads...he praised it initially, then said it didn't do anything unless you had a lightweight flywheel too (ap1 or lighter). Personally, DO feel like it made the feel a little more direct with slightly less lag. Maybe not night and day, but fuck it...I don't need it. Made a WORLD of difference on the TL. I know how to drive stick...don't need the don't ride the clutch safety feature.

PS...bleeding is super easy too...use the gravity method. Basically, you hold the slave upright...fill master, then open nipple...air will bubble out...once it's a solid stream, you're bled. No need to even touch the pedal.

I'll say that it DOES feel different between a stock ap2 with it and without it. It's not a significant difference but it does. I've had both and compared driving with it and without back to back and you can tell a slight difference.

Good info, thanks bud!

Hopefully I notice a difference since I have an AP1 flywheel on my AP2.

That, adjusting the clutch pedal, and AP1 Flywheel are supposedly the holy grail of rev matching and best feel ever. Good luck, man.

Mocky, glad I'm not nuts then! Of course, immediately I thought I was going to blow up my rear diff... but I know that's not the case. I'd do it all over again...such a pleasure to drive.

Was thinking the same thing. I'm not into wasting tires and crapping my pants. For that, I'd get a Mustang. I'd rather zip through that road normally and quickly COUNTERING oversteer, not inducing it. That's kinda the point of the car, no? The fact that it handles like a go cart?

H&R's are on...ride is spectacular...zero RAGRETS.

^ agree

I need to lower my car at some point. I feel like I'm driving a 4x4 compared to everyone else and the way the wheels are shaped, it makes the car look like it sits up even higher than normal.

Thanks, man...
Honestly, I'll say...I'm a little older than a lot of the local guys that track and want stiffer stiffer stiffer. I wanted a similar ride to my TL, in that...I wanted a smooth and soft ride, close to stock feel and ability to lower to look good. These coilovers are the best ones I've ever had or ridden on. I can't say enough good about them. Not cheap, by any means, but compared to the high end pricing for the coils available for this car, they're a fair price. No dampening adjust, but I wouldn't change it from where it's at anyway.

Phenomenal ride.

By older, do you mean you are eligible to hang out in the vintage forum on s2ki ?

Where abouts in Florida are you. I'm in Ohio. It snowed the other day so it'll be a few more weeks before I pull the S out of storage.

Fresh oil, checked tire pressures, topped all fluids.

4 NSXs pictured, 5 showed up for the Palomar Mountain run!

7:45am roll out.

Top of the mountain.

the Blue 335i AWD ran over some fresh horse shit and flung it back at me

What a great run - absolutely 0 traffic.

I was having a blast dancing with 2 x BMW 335is down the mountain. They were decently quick in the straights, but certainly could not leave me in the corners .

also, you're running staggered on the enkeis? I thought you were squared 9's for some reason.

Yup, I've always had a staggered setup with this car and want to move to a square setup. As it sits right now, the car bites hard in the corners with very little understeer, I can't imagine how a square setup will feel .

For the last couple of months, I've been scoping Craigslist for a pair of 17x9s to match my rears, but haven't come across the right deal with the right set of tires.

If I were given the opportunity to drive both of these cars in the twisties for a day, there isn't a doubt in my mind that I'd pick the NSX.

It was a blast watching them fly through corners.

Here's the starting point to our route:

S6 to S7, this continued for another 40 miles or so.

The time has come. I have to pull my "little guy" out of storage in prep for the Acura High-Perf course at Mid-Ohio on Friday. I rarely drive it in rain, but it looks like rain on Friday down there.

Good thing my tires are brand new as of last year. Going to REALLY learn car control.

Anybody want a Gendron front sway bar?

This is the original version with the 1.25" solid front bar. It's around $650 new. I'll let it go for $250 + shipping. I bought it right before I decided to sell my car and its been sitting around.

I didn't move. I was just asked to cover when there was some drama back in the day. I know both actually. Ricky Flores is now the CO down there.

Bob. I'm glad you are doing the class at mid Ohio. You will have a ton of fun. I love that track. I haven't seen my car since. Hmmm. September I think. Lol

Do you miss the naked weather and warm babes?

No kidding, well, I've become friends with both...cool dudes. Jeff is a good friend that I met about a year ago through a HS friend of mine. Ricky I met when buying his wheels and his suspension (this last weekend, that was his shop I posted). Ricky is asking me to take over CO duties for Broward County, since I already do it for Acurazine anyway. Ever make your way back down here for anything? Ricky is headed to the Dragon in a week...you going?

Great car...I was after Laguna, but alas...first one I saw was from an auction and far from perfect. Clean Rio at the right price came up first. Nice wheel selection too! I'm sure I'm a bit low for your taste, but I love the look and I don't rub at all. If I track the car, I'll obviously raise it up.
