What kind of brakes? OEM?

^ I got some Power Slot 11.8" slotted rotors with Hawk HPS Peformance pads for about $280 total .. I will be installing them myself next weekend.
I've heard good things about the Brembo Blank rotors and OEM pads .. they're roughly $70 - $80 a rotor.

That's debatable. I've heard just as good things about AutoZone Duralast rotors because not only are they pretty much exactly the same as the Brembo blanks, but they carry a warranty so if they do warp you can exchange them for brand new ones no questions asked. Also the OEM pads suck balls, so one of the first upgrades for the brakes is get better pads. I loved my Centric Posi Quiet pads I had on my Accord so much I put a set on my Mazdaspeed6. And of course the Hawks you got and EBC Greens have a lot of good feedback out there.

^ Agreed.
I heard some positive feedback on VeSixPe from a couple users using Brembo blanks as an OEM replacement. Every single Honda / Acura I have owned (2 x TLs, 1 Accord) have all had warped rotors / lousy braking power.
I honestly think any type of rotor is going to be a major improvement over stock / OEM.

Starting to look more seriously into pad/rotor replacements. Reading up on Brembo blanks and OEM pad combo, apparently there really isn't anything wrong with the factory pads, it's the rotors that are the problem.
Does anyone know the cost of Hawk/EBC pads off the top of their head? I want to stay around OEM pricing if possible.
What else should I be looking at as far as rotors? Ideally something very resistant to warpage. What kind of experience do you guys have with brands that aren't necessarily performance oriented? AC Delco, the like. Better than factory?

Ive had good luck with Auto Zone rotors in the past. They usually have a lifetime warranty so if they do warp, just bring them back for a free replacement (same goes for their axles).
For pads, check here:
http://www.ajusa.com/browse/Brake-Pa...el=ACCORD&go=+
AJ-USA usually has some good sales, so check the home page for coupon codes. Sadly the free shipping deals are only for the US, but it still may be a good deal when shipping is factored in. Customs charges suck though.

I'm looking preferably local, got a chance to look at the brakes yesterday at the shop, and they're worse than done. The front pads were smoking. It's something that needs to be fixed ASAP.
Found pads, Wagner Thermoquiets at my local Parts Source. Wonder if there's any place here that has a warranty like Autozone. Could REALLY use something like that.
Thanks

Not sure if you have them up there but O'Reilly has similar lifetime warranty parts as well.
Add me to the list.... many Hondas and Acuras I've both owned and driven have the typical brake shudder at freeway speeds. I've heard mixed things about the Wagner Thermoquiets... despite the name, I usually hear complaints about noise.
I've had luck with both a local store's "premium quality" lifetime warranty graphite metallic pads from a brand I've never heard of + Raybestos Advanced Tech. rotors (overkill for a daily though). Not a single noise on me or any of my friends' cars and when I did work at the local store, customers didn't complain about them.
IDK if it matters but the brand was Vortex.

Odd. Still doing plenty of research though.
Went to PartSource today, priced out Thermoquiets and ATE premium rotors (with their funky design). $349.
I've been hearing people getting EBC Green Stuff pads and rotors for $300 at a local warehouse. Sounds like I'll be going that route.

^ I know it's a problem with 3G TLs and the rear a-spec lip.
I guess because they want the exhaust to stay flush with the bumper in the stock trim?

i've used 3A tips in the past on my TL and they worked great.. but i need to cover much more ground here...
local stores carry them, but the longer the length you buy, the larger the outlet gets...
im trying to keep the tip outlet to about 3-3 1/2 inches.

That's a good enough excuse for a full exhaust.

I think your best option would be to cut an inch or 2 (or however much you need) of pipe and weld it between the muffler and tip. Not ideal, but the only otheroption is new tips, which doesn't seem to be going well.

Sucks but I think its the only viable option short of replacing the entire system.

hit and run...
bumper damage, headlight scratched and there is an inch gap above the light (which was pushed in)
just when I was finished everything some azzhole messes everything up

^ Mild abrasive wax + buffer for the headlights / bumper and some touchup paint ... It'll make it look pretty unnoticeable.
I am in the same boat as you, somebody backed into my rear bumper / taillight.
I was fortunate to get his insurance information. Funny thing I mention this, I got the check for $550 in the mail today.

Which metal piece?
That sucks about the H&R. I hate people that have no respect for anyone elses property.

the piece attached to the bumper went all the way inside
metal piece under and on top of the headlight (larger red arrows)
would a clay bar remove the scratch on the headlights and the bumper?

I believe the bar you speak of is the "upper support". Usually its a lightweight metal thats stamped into shape that you can tweak back into position. It holds the top lip of the bumper securely in place. A new one from Honda lists for $18.
One of the scratches on the bumper looks like its down to the plastic, so a respray would be your best option. In which case you may just want to contact your insurance and go through no-fault. Your premiums shouldnt go up but verify before you make a claim.
A wet sand and polish on the headlights should clean them up as long as they arent cracked.

unfortunately, I have a $500 deductible.
I will try to wet sand the lights. 2000 grit will do it?

It should. Dont forget to polish them afterwards using something like PlastX, otherwise they will be very cloudy.

It'll be a nice power gain for sure, I cannot wait to have exhaust back on my car .. I missed the way my TL sounded.
