The Official Honda Accord Thread
#1402
Just picked this up about two weeks ago.....
I traded in my Tahoe for it and smile every time I go by the gas station now. I got the Tahoe after getting T-boned in my TL and was sorry to see it go, but the fuel cost was killing me.
I'm really happy with the Accord. And it feels good to not have to slow down to walking pace as I go around corners anymore. Although I do feel as though I need to pay even more attention now while driving as I can longer see everything going on around me like I could in the Tahoe.
No mods or anything planned for it, unless you all know of some "must haves" that need to be done.

I'm scoping out those J35 heads, intake manifold and throttlebody in the classifieds on VeSixPee, it would be a nice upgrade and easy swap when I'm doing my timing belt.

How much thicker is it compared to what's on there now?
I installed the Comptech 22" on the TL and it made a world of a diff, until it ripped the mounts off the subframe.... That's happened to a couple of people on here.
Any reports of anything similar happening with upgrading the stock bar on the Accord? I find the handling to be pretty good now, but a little tighter is always nice .......

Back to the brake pads for a moment, I've replaced mine easily two or three times within 50k miles. Also the rear calipers have seized twice and had to be totally replaced. What a pain in the ass.
Yeah I have a TL but it's just a fancy Accord

The service records for the Accord I now have listed rear brake pads being replaced twice already. It's just turned 70k.
I haven't looked at the service manual for this yet. Can they just be pad slapped? If so, then I'm not going to worry too much about them and just chalk it up to a design flaw. Dropping new pads in every 30k or so is a pain that I'd rather not have to do, and even if the calipers have to come off it's still something that shouldn't take more than 30 min total time. Yes?
It's strange that it's the rear brakes wearing out prematurely. I don't think I've ever heard of that before.

There are some people who have put on the 22mm Progress sway bar.
I haven't heard of any issues with the mounts on the Accord.

I did the serpentine belt, tranny drain and fill, cabin air filter and brakes/rotors at 66-67k
brakes were very easy...but the rotors were a PITA to take off (rusted placement screws).
I upgraded my brake pads recently...took 20-30 mins to change (each wheel).

the dealer i buy from is out of texas.. usually takes 1 day to ship. (left dallas yesterday and delivered today)
it only takes longer when they have to order the part themselves.

bumper has been repainted (badly i might add)
and the paint's rigidity worries me... otherwize it would be gone already.
when i get the rear re-done properly.. i will leave the Accord and V6 emblems off...

tyler the fogs were pretty cheap and it took about 30-45 minutes for install.. (most of that was wiring.)
although i havent used them once since i installed them but i do like the way they look.

Noice, can't wait to see.
Nothing special over here. Still rocking plate covers and fuzzy dice.
Washed and clayed yesterday, was going to try my hand at compounding, but work called so I threw a coat of wax on it and left. Rock chips have beat up my headlights, going to clear them out tomorrow. Looking forward to having a decent-condition car again.

That is quite possibly the sexiest Accord ass I have ever seen.
I can take a few pics, but really it's nothing special. It was dirty, now it's clean. Compounding by hand didn't really make much of an effect.
