what tire pressure are you guys running on your 17" wheels?
i know that its 32/29 in these cars but my tires must be soft as shit b/c im running 35 up front and they are still pancaking... pretty aggrevating. havent had this problem before..

stock size trooper.. 215/50/17..
bf goodrich tires. (not something i would put on it again btw)
and like aman, i bumped the pressure all the way to 40-41 yesterday and they still were noticeably "squishy". didnt look flat or anything, just annoying.

It's the 50 series sidewall. If you're used to 40 series or an even smaller, yeah, they'll look squished in comparison.
We design aftermarket auto accessories including tire gauges and tire inflators. One interesting industry fact that a lot of people don't know is:
A tire can lose 50% of its inflation pressure and not appear to be flat.
In your case I guess I'll have to revise that stat to say:
A tire can gain 50% of its inflation pressure and still appear to be flat.

yea, and i know it varies between companies as well..
i just dont remember the tires on my TL-S wheels (same demensions) being this soft.
hopefully the new set will help it a little.. if not, i'll get over it.

I'm curious if anyone owns or has test driven a current generation Accord Coupe with a manual, especially the 6 cyl. version? If so, was the handling significantly better than the current sedan?
I've never seen one at a dealer in my area.
Edit - RedRyder - I just noticed the outline of Ohio plates on that Accord (which is, of course, awesome). How have you managed to keep it from rusting? I have a 2000 Coupe and rust is started to be an issue.

The 8th gen coupe 6-6 handles better then the v6 sedan. My brother has an 08 coupe 6-6 and my mother has an 08 sedan v6, I've gotten plenty of seat behind both.
If you were to compare sedans, in my very honest opinion, the 7th gen v6 sedan was more fun to drive compared to the 8th gen.

Thanks. Ever driven sixth generation Accords? I have a coupe and have driven my parents' sedan quite a few times, and I think both are far more fun to drive than the current gen. Accord sedan. I was hoping the coupe may still have a little of the old Honda verve.

As Tyler said, the new gen feels as big as it looks. Its not something Im particularly fond of.

I may watch for one, but given the current prices on used cars and difficulty in finding well-maintained MT versions, I thought I may just consider a new car.
Incidentally, I mentioned earlier that if a Legacy GT was still listed today, I may go take a look. It's gone. I wonder if the buyer really paid $20K for it.

If you can't find a good 7th gen 6MT, maybe invest a little bit of money into the current ride? It's a rare beast for sure, and if you're getting a little bored, I'm sure a new mod or even just a fresh detail will get you falling in love with your car all over again.

I live in a pretty hostile place for cars, however, where it can snow (and the roads are salted) for nearly six months of the year. I also commute 40 miles each way, from a rural dirt roads to downtown Cleveland, so the car could at least use semi-retirement.
It has over 175K miles on it now, and I'll be having the second timing belt/water pump replacement done pretty soon along with addressing some leaking seals.
Finally, I got it when recovering from a severely broken left leg and needed an automatic, and I really want to go back to driving a manual, as well.
It's kind of funny how many people don't understand my keeping this car as well as the maintenance I do on it, especially if they figure out it's not because I can't afford anything else (which seems to be the first assumption).

I am looking at a used 99 5mt sedan tomorrow with 127k and they are asking 4500. Is there anything that i should look for? I would assume with the 5 speed most of the issues were with the auto.
Can i expect 30 mpg with it also? I was going to offer 3500.

Depending on where the car's been driven, you'll probably want to check for what metal may be rusting, especially brake and fuel lines, and the condition of rubber hoses and the like. That's all age-related stuff. Other than the issues with the auto transmission, I think the only other problems specific to Accords of that era are the EVAP systems, particularly the solenoids.
I don't think it'll get 30MPG, probably closer to 26 in mainly highway driving with a 4cyl.

as long as the title was clean and it has good service history, give a test drive and see how you like it.
