So V wagons in general are rare beasts, and 6MT V wagons are even rarer. The rarest unicorns would be a 6MT V wagon with moonroof delete and Recaros in a low-volume color (i.e. Stealth Blue, Mocha Steel Metallic, Majestic Plum Metallic).

Who said manuals are dead at 30% take rate!! especially in a wagon!!

Reliable sources within GM have fed us the information. The manual transmission take rate for the sedan and coupe were considerably lower, in the neighborhood of 10% IIRC.
All the same, around 530 6MT V wagons is pretty rare.

Two of the rarest autos in recent existence.....
....sit in my driveway.
RLX Sport Hybrid production can't be more than 500 at this point even with 2016s being delivered; reports are that Acura plans to produce/sell only another 250 in the US for the '16 MY in addition to the 250 2014s. (I will be rebadging it this week as a Legend, correcting Acura's grievous error in naming the car.)
CTS-V 6MT wagon production finished with around 540 samples.
Happy to have both.
Wife's new Mommymobile, a 2015 Buick Enclave, sits hidden in the background. S2000 is in the garage, as befits its garage queen status.
Just updating this thread because I liked the picture of my rare cars, and to celebrate JB joining the V Wagon team.

Trackhawk might be cheaper..
I think the V they were allowed to drive cost just a few nickels north of $100k

neuronbob how has the reliability been on the wagon and your previous V? I am really considering upgrading from my F to a Wagon after seeing JBs this weekend. However if I !take the upgrade it will be a 6-8 year car for me that will has to last close to 100k miles on top of whatever it has when I buy it. Probably 40-60k miles from what I have seen.

Are you thinking of trading in the F?

Everything I've heard and read is that these things are pretty bulletproof. They can even take quite a bit of mods before they need "reinforcement". I've seen people on the forums saying they get low 20's (20-23) mpg highway, but in reality it seems most are getting much less. I just filled up yesterday so I'll let you know what I end up getting. I'm sure I'll get better MPG's on beach trips then I will around town...

I have a buddy that has always wanted to buy my F the way it sits. So most likely would be private sale. Just need more utility. Otherwise I love it.
Good to hear. No major mods for me now that I have the TSX back I just want something that handles as well as ISF and is at least as powerful but with more space. Maybe an exhaust though. I only get 18-19 in the city with the F but 25 on the highway on long trips. If I could get 23mpg on long highway trips that would be awesome. I don't drive as much as I used to though so not as big of a deal.
Also could JB or neuron could you measure the size of the back Trunk area behind the rear seat until the metal trim starts where it latches. I need to see if the dog crates I transport when I travel fit and I can't find those exact measurements on the web it seems. Thanks

The 3G V I'd drive is minus the carbon fiber package. The one I'd order is just north of $90k, and I know how to get it for supplier price, with is a bit less than $85k. It won't happen until my Sport Hybrid lease runs out.....and Acura will have to work REALLY, REALLY hard to keep my business. It's not looking good.

Colt, my PMs are full, I saved that last spot for Maker's boner but you slipped in before him.
I avg 14.5 mpg. She's thirsty. When I posted this in JB's thread, I should clarify the first reaction is to my speedometer. The second, my reaction to the fuel guage.
I took her on a road trip last weekend, avg mph was 80 mph. 200 mile round trip (96% freeway, 10 miles of stop-go traffic), I burned through approximately 12 gallons of fuel. So that's around 16.5 mpg. I'm sure if my average speed was around 60-65 mph cruising all the way, it would have done 20 mpg (plus I got on it a few times during the commute). It's definitely going to be a hit at the pump over the F, and she has a relatively normal sized tank, so you'll be filling up often, but not as bad as a SRT Jeep.
In terms of reliability, I'm sure it's a tank. I haven't heard of many issues. I've experienced intermittent TPMS sensor comm failure on one wheel, which seems to be somewhat common. Bob and I both experienced the rear diff moan, which is solved by new fluid. There is a known supercharger issue where the bearing shaft wears and can eventually fail. GM extended the warranty to 10 yrs / 120k miles because of this (engine and s/c). I believe Bob went through a SC replacement. There are also minor issues with the interior squeaks / rattles. I have the regular seats and they're squeaky and bounce about. Many complain about the stiffness of the Recaros, but after seat time in a C63, they're leaps above. lol.
It's a supercharged car, built for boost, but there's always inherent risk. If you do your diligence with maintenance, which I know you do, there shouldn't be much to worry about. Tons of guys have pushed stock transmission and bottom end / internals with +200 hp and not a hiccup. Plus, if you end up blowing a rod out the engine, you can buy crate setup or a used one for a fraction of most. Or if it's rebuildable, tons of specialists on the LSx platform, and parts are fairly inexpensive. One of the primary reasons I shied away from the C/E63 was due to head bolt and other common issues, which could result in replacing the engine, which would cost more than the price of the car.
The F is reliable, but it's also a unicorn to most shops. The engine has some commonality with other platforms, but it'll probably be a bigger hassle finding the right shop to do the work for a fair / reasonable price. I think the V would be a great transition, although I love your F. I'm sure you'll miss it.

Glad they are bulletproof. I should have though about that being based on the motor they are it is extremely common. I will definitely miss my F that is for for sure. It has been a great car. If everything pans out though it will be going to a good buddy of mine and I will be able to see and drive it once and a while still.

PS I have pics of the 3G V from the Mid-Ohio track this weekend. I was there as a guest of Cadillac, and they had a V-series pavilion for us to park in the infield. I could only go Saturday but I shall post pics when I have a chance.

My son with my Beastwagon and the 2016 V on Saturday. This example has no carbon fiber trim but still looks good.
We were not allowed to drive them because they are preproduction samples.

Beautiful driveway! I still every time I see your V Wagon. On off topic it's crazy to see how much your son has grown. I still remember you had a booster seat in your previous car!

Bob.. I love some styling points of the new V, but I don't think you should trade up. It really has nothing on your Vagon. Plus with all the issues with the LT4. Even the ZL1 broke down I heard.
Also.. they get so big, so quick.
What's going to be his first ride? The enclave?

Whatchutalkingabout Wills? Who's trading what wagon? Wagon is long paid off.
The V3 is not a V I'd own. I don't find it particularly unique, unlike the V2. I would lease a V3, honestly, while keeping the V wagon. Just waiting for my RLX Sport Hybrid lease to end in 2017....then we'll see.
....and yeah, my son....I can't believe he's nine and I'm taking him to soccer practice. Of course, I take him in the V wagon. Best soccer dad vehicle, ever.

until officially announced the Trackhawk is just vaporware.
Also remember, the other rumor regarding the Trackhawk nomenclature is that it might simply take over the SRT moniker, as SRT is now back under Dodge, which is being poised as the performance brand and the 300 SRT is no more.

The little guy may get to drive the S2000 if he's extra-extra good in school for the next seven years. I'll likely be teaching him how to drive on that--stout clutch, not enough power to get him in trouble, and no traction control so he can learn how to actually control the car, like we all had to in our youth.
...and the 300SRT is really no more? I actually liked that car.
