My CLS is gone
My CLS is gone
I have been wanting to get a vehicle I could drive in the snow so I didn't have to keep my beater explorer around anymore. Going from two cars to one. So I decided on a Chevy Avalanche. After much searching I found the right one. Its a 2003 with 10500 miles. Its has the Z71 package, leather,4:10 rear end, sunroof, and bose stereo. So sad to leave my CLS at the dealer but I knew making the trade was best for me and my family.

I probably could have tried but it was lowered and had summer tires. I also do quite a bit of fishing and things, so I had the explorer to handle all those tasks as well. The CLS was fun to drive but just wasn't practical anymore.

at least needed to be the 2500 with the 454 in it (7.3 or iirc), or swap a duramax in that sucker and call it a day (along with a couple of performance upgrades of course though)
also don't forget to get those NASTY gray side panels and bumpers color matched ASAP

The 2500 has the 8.1L and the "nasty" cladding was part of the selling factor for me. Thanks anyway
anyways just asking, but why was the cladding a selling point for you then....
also don't forget to change all the fluids relatively soon too, they have been sitting a long time, and they start collecting water and such, and degrade overtime and so, so it cn corrode stuff from the inside out (thinking mainly brake fluid and coolant)
i knew the liter size was up there somewhere, but yes 8100 does sound right though

The vehicle was serviced regularly including changing of fluids by the previous owner as well as a service at the dealer before I purchased it.
indeed it does hide alot more scratches, so fair enough in that sense, and with black is not an absolute horrible combo
and regularly LMFAO, what 3 oil changes or so, but personally i would still change them for piece of mind though, but that is mainly up to you though

Congrats on the new ride sad to see the CL go though. You don't see them a lot around in Central PA. I have to agree I always loved the Avalanche as well.
You think your sad to see it go
I don't think it has fully set in yet for me. Its the first car I purchased new. I have never gotten rid of a car before that had nothing wrong with it.

Nice looking truck and incredible that it has such low mileage. While, I don't love the cladding, if you actually use it for what it was made for, the cladding is awesome. Enjoy it and take it through the woods w/o worrying, cladding is the way to go
