currently i am building a 04 silverado for my wife...she is deployed in the US navy for another 3 months, and has been gone for 4 already.

my parents own a business and recently bought a new business truck and gave me the old one...i filed an insurance claim for sand storm damage and now i am using all the money to customize it. i am a certified paint and body/collision repairman, and i am doing all the work myself with the help of my good friend and old boss who has many more years experience than i do.

so far i have fixed all the dings and am working on the last dent this weekend when i will be shaving the stake pockets on the bedrails and welding on the roll pan which should be delivered on thursday.

purchased so far :

kicker DS series speakers front and rear
kicker 700.5 amp
(2) 12" kicker comp VT subs with a rear under seat sealed box
kicker wiring (complete including speaker and amp wiring and 5 channel RCA's)
steering wheel control unit for stereo
SS front bumper
street scene crome grille (getting painted flat black)
new headlights and park lights with xenon blue bulbs
pioneer double din CD player with bluetooth
roll pan
shaved tailgate
LED 3rd brake light (smoke)
blacked out tails (which will be smoked)
new spray on bed liner
tint front windows to match rear

im also doing a 2/4" drop and am still searching for the right wheel (im liking lexanis tho)

PICS:

naw my dad can be a real bitch about his "baby" sometimes..i drive it now and then but hes real particular about it...

my mom actually says its mine and hers because she wants me to have more father son activities and since hes part of a challenger group,i can drive hers and tag along..thats why shes going to put the twin turbo on,so i can boost the shit out of it lol

hah,naw in california it would be useless because of the emissions laws, plus this truck is only temporary,i doubt well keep it for even 2 years at most

Send the ECU off to Justin at black bear performance, he can wake it up quite a bit and setup a tow/haul ass mode. Cost is about 250 IIRC.

^external and internal overhaul? there is no point in touching the motor, its just going to be a daily driver for my wife to get to and from work...thats all she ever uses her own vehicle for usualy

Tell your wife thank you for serving in the Navy from all of us. My wife was deployed for two months before she had to come back because she was getting fat (pregnant.

Hang in there.

i got all the parts today,6 packages in total and im still waiting on the suspension...part of it actually came today, but it was the wrong part so i have to call to return it.

i was suprised they came because i just ordered them yesterday.

i did the entire audio install and now i just need to mount and wire the amp and ill be completely done with the stereo..

once i get the right parts for the suspension ill do that right away, and i should have the roll pan tailgate and body work all finished this weekend as long as the wind dies back down

nice looking truck, just a suggestion from past experiences whenever our work trucks were stripped of lettering and repainted...you could always see where the vinyl lettering used to be on the new paint. You might want to bring those spots down bare before painting

thanks...the whole truck is being sanded (not just scuffed) and will be sealed before base,so i doubt ill run into any issues, but if i do,itll show up in the sealer rather than later
