Make a list of stuff you want to be better and then practice only that until your satisfied with the results, then move on to the next.I started out only wanting to do night stuff with light painting. That blossomed into trying to find the worst location and time of day to 'make it work.'

Does it really handle that much better than the S? I thought that was for the old ones that are smaller, this one looks similarly sized. The only thing I envy on the Miata is the hard top convertible option...that's something Honda shoulda done did, although it wouldn't really fit in with the vision of what the car should be. Plus, it'd make it hard for all those pesky seat/wheel stealers out there.

300 lbs lighter and the shorter wheelbase make a big difference.

I second this motion!

Tommy, I've always been an s2000 lover at heart, but being 6'7", I really don't fit in the car. Then I sat in an NC Miata. Surprisingly, my lanky ass fits just fine in that car!

I have a co-worker who is selling a 2007 Miata, equipped with a supercharger, amongst many other goodies, however, I'm really debating whether or not I want to buy the car off him.

I've been a Honda guy since day one- I'd love it if you could find the time to do a solid write up comparing the two cars (s2000 and Miata). Help make my decision just a little easier, one way or another!!

^^ The "Gordy Mod" will be your best friend.

There is a bracket that literally unbolts, spins around, then re-bolts into the same hole using the same hardware that lowers the back of the seat 1.5-2"~. I'm over 6' and it made a giant difference.

If the car is supercharged, make sure you know what tune is on it and what system and the last time it was tuned. LOOOTs of blown engines due to faulty tunes with the Cosworth kit. That being said, if it is a good running car and you don't get it, you'll be sorry. 230 to the wheels is average for a mild SC and with that you're running with 5.0s. Easily.

and

for the S2000 it was a bit more involved to lower the seat from what I recall...not that I bothered but it would have been nice to see the street lights.

I've been talking lots with the owner of that Miata, and he's the type of guy to not leave a single stone unturned. He had Flyin' Miata install one of the last "cosworth" stamped superchargers on his car and he did have it tuned once and then retuned again. He's put about 30,000km (~19k miles) on the car with the supercharger without issue, so I'm guessing it's safe as-is.

He claimed the car was putting down about 265-270hp to the wheels, but he was going off memory. He said he would dig out the dyno sheets for me when he had a chance.

I'm not one to ever buy a modified car because you never know who did the work or what you're getting, but being able to work with this guy, I feel pretty safe- I don't think he'll be going anywhere anytime soon, seeing as he's been here for over 20 years. I get the pleasure of seeing his BMW 1M and his new M3, and man, he's the kind of seller you want. All three of those cars are flawless.

Now I know what not having children will net you- a very nice stable of cars like he has, lol.

It sounds ok. If FM installed it, you at least know it's installed right. I'd want to know exactly who tuned it and would recommend a re-tune just to make sure. The Cosworth kits blew engines from every distributor until the tunes were figured out. It's also very dependent on how he drove it, they would usually pop out on the track. 270hp sounds a little high for that kit.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe it was tuned through FM. I don't believe they did it directly, but rather through one of their trusted tuners. He has tracked the car with the SC and done extensive journeys across North America with it. I'm thinking no engine would last 30,000km if it's running on a bad tune, especially after spending some time on the track as well.

I can get all the tuner information from him, but I'm really not concerned about it blowing any time soon. I've had the pleasure of driving the car as well. It was fun if it does blow, hello 2.5L with Supercharger

Just spoke to him again- the car was last tuned in-person by Joe, of Dynotronics while the current owner of the Miata was at FMs 2013 Summer Camp. Since then, he and Joe have done constant tinkering with the tune, remotely.

I lied a bit. I just was told the car put down 260hp in 2013 when it was on the dyno. With the tune improvements done over the last little while, he believes the car is now pushing 265hp, but hasn't had it on a dyno to confirm.

Good. to. go.

Joe is on the forefront of leading tuners for the NC.

butt dyno confirmed 5 more HP.

Adam, that's happening and you know it. If Jordan says it's safe, right after warning you about the tune...you have to.

Funny how the headlight lids make the car so much more aggressive looking!

I've never ever like those eye brows on any car... But they do look good on the Miata, lol. That white Miata above is just damn gorgeous. RPF1s look so good on that car. Are the fenders pulled at all? Looks so aggressive.

I'm bringing the wifey to take a look at the car next weekend. I was hoping for this Saturday, but she's too busy planning a wedding shower I think the car is a done deal for the spring though. I'll probably put a deposit on it after she views it, just to pull the ad off the internet and secure it for myself.

I think the test drive I did just wasn't right. I had the owner beside me and I really didn't open the car up as much as I'd like to have. I really enjoy piloting my friend's s2000 and I've now heard a handful of times from guys that have owned both that the Miata is just a little better in many aspects, besides power. I'm thinking the only downfall of the Miata is not hearing the beautiful VTEC crack and screaming to redline.

White one is mine. Fenders are all rolled flat.

I hate eyelids, etc....but then I saw the Garage Vary version on an NC and had to have them. It just changes the look of the car so much.

Plus dat street cred for saying "I have japan parts on my car."

Old pics...but I don't think anything has changed since these.

Jordan...don't be posting those pictures when we all know what you can really do with a camera.

In other news, your car is fucking fantastic. And yes, I'm saying that about a miata.

I loved your Gulf wrap...wish you wouldn't have removed it.

lol..itll get a shoot soon.

I loved the gulf wrap too but being as I did it in my garage on a Saturday, it wasn't perfect...and I reaaaaaallly got tired of dick holes at car shows telling me that it wasn't perfect and it was a 6 out of 10. The Renown wrap will be 101% perfect. The company that is doing is nuts.
