Probably wouldn't look right dyed, I'm OCD about the way the car looks so if it was blotchy I'd probably have to kill myself.

If it ever starts to fall apart I'm tempted to get a black top, but after I put the wheels on I started liking the top color again. I dunno...

The top works though because of the interior. Black top w/ camel interior would look a bit off, imo.

I've got black cloth seats that I picked up as part of the deal with the wheels. I found some really nice seat covers that I'm thinking about buying as well so I wont loose the heated seat function. Leather in the summer is bad but in a convert its just dumb. If I did it again I would have opted for the Touring version.

$450, with re-wrapping and stitching the wheel myself and installing the rest myself as well.

JPM Coachworks I think is the best quality, but they are proud...the same wheel would have costed me almost $500 alone.

http://redlinegoods.com/shiftboot.php

They are a vendor here.

Ordered everything from Redline and installed it myself. Fit and finish from that company is spectacular.

Steering wheel is also stitched me....VERY labor intensive, roughly 14 hours of solid work.

Was it hard or just time consuming? And did you take the wheel off or do it while it was still on the car?

I've been wanting to rewrap my steering wheel for the longest time but just can't pull the trigger.

No, it isn't hard. Basically you just thread the stitch with the needle and thread they provide. The hardest part about it lining up the material prior to stitching. Some people glue it down first, but I didn't. Mazda didn't so I didn't figure I'd need to. Alcantara also doesn't stretch as much as leather, so it is very difficult to get the seams to close, but I managed. I've got cuts on my hand from how hard I was pulling the thread, if that tells you anything.

I did take the wheel off the car, but it could be done with it left on. I managed to get mine off without a puller just by medium force taps with my palm on the wheel for about 10 minutes. Also, the MX5 wheels has place around the spokes where the material is underneath, so I had to get all those trim pieces off.

I didn't think I could do it...but I did. Honestly though, if something happens to it I am paying to get it done. I've got some very minor (my fault) imperfections that are due to lack of experience. Its one of those things no one would notice but me, however the are there. My old wheel was falling apart at the seams and it was time for a new one, so anything is better than what I had. Plus im being picky really...the feeling of Alcantara on the wheel while you're driving is what I compare to the first time I drove a car with HIDs, not to mention it will never be red hot from the sun. I don't ever want to be without it.

Make sure you have it lined up PERFECTLY before you start to stitch and be aware that the material might move some if you aren't careful.

Knobmeister. <-- Joe, the owner, is awesome. Great customer service.

I have another one without the etched shift pattern, if you're interested.

Well Done Jordan. Really great looking car.

Now we need to see if the go fast parts work. Ethan made it to the track and liked it. Now it is your turn since you have a car that will do well there.

Look forward to seeing you out there soon.

Took part in a semi-annual S2K drive in Arkansas this past weekend...what a blast, as always. Here are some pictures from the drive up. No time to snap pics during the drive itself.

Yes, that is Bobby Rahals previously owned GT3RS

Car looks awesome. Great pics... looks like it was a fun event. Funny how only half the cars seem to be S2000's. Rest are others (Porsche, Mazda, BMW, etc)...

There were about 25 S2000s, 1 GT3RS (Graham Rahals, not Bobbys!), 1 Ferrari California, 1 BMW M3, 2 Miatas, an E55 AMG (That blew up), a 350z, 1 G35 Sedan and 1 NSX.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j91ke4inpdwjuq1/f9vIq8lbl0

^^ Not in all but 2 pics because I switched into a faster group and split off after lunch to hang out in Eureka Springs the rest of the day. Had to jump start on the booze!

Im surprised it doesn't attract more attention from other cars. Its free and VERY well put together, with spotters, photographers, leaders and sweep cars. Everything is mapped out from lunch to rest areas on your trip odometers. This is my 8th and usually the only drive I'll go on these days. The roads are far better than anything found in Texas and there usually isn't any newbs that try and kill themselves.
