I love the cool factor of a boost gauge, but I'm too noob at turbo cars to even know what I'm looking at.

Will definitely do some reading before pushing my car to any sort of limit.

You should definitely read up because there's a ton of things I had no idea about before buying a turbo car. Things that are detrimental to the longevity of your engine.

Yep, I had zero idea how the turbo car worked before I bought my car.

There's just so much to read up on. It's actually very enjoyable.

It can be made somewhat fun in the corners.

But really, the steering feel is pretty damn good and raw, which I really like. And it is pretty direct and fast. I should say the car is pretty predictable in the corners.

Can't wait to put a set of Koni shocks with Swift springs. Now that would be fun!

yea the article talked about a lot of torque steer. I've never really felt torque steer but cant you just not full throttle it out of a corner. Be gentle? I dunno though never experienced it. Its like a RWD car, slam the pedal while your in a turn and your ass is kicked out. Although I know torque steer can turn your car in a straight away too

still they liked the car.

It happens when you have too much torque on a FWD platform. If you go WOT going around, your steering wheel is going to hate you and try to fight you. What do you have to do? Hold on tight, and it's all good.

It will get you if you are off guard..... but after experiencing it for the first time, you should not have problem with it. If you know how to handle it, you will be totally fine. I mean how many times are you going to really go WOT in the corner when it's your DD. Plus, there's just so much torque on tap that you just have to work it out. Also, if you install some engine mounts, it will help in fighting that.

But I agree with one editor's comment... it was something like it's fun but not rewarding much. It is definitely not more rewarding than the RWD platforms, there's no doubt about that. But I don't think anyone can really push these cars to the limit, if you are not a dedicated track racers.

And remember? 3G TL-S did so much better on tracks than the G35S. There's some great FWD performance machines, and the MS3 is one of them.

Just don't load up the car too much in the low RPM. Like going WOT when you are in 6th gear @ <2k rpm.

Don't worry about throwing rods and blowing it up. Just have fun. It should be alright.

It only happens when you heavily mod your car without any necessary supporting mods and proper tune and drive like a dumbass.

It's a bolt on GT3071R BT Kit from ATP... only $1,895... and my current mods can shared as the supporting mods for this.. This is a pretty damn safe build too.

Maybe when I pay off the car and am completely out of warranty?

Yes, it was definitely getting out of control. It wasn't like that at all before, that's for sure. Everyone has been acting pretty civilized now. haha It's the Genpu noob members who started making things bad.

^ Change your mind much????

I just shrugged the PM off on MSF. Again, I don't post there at all because I feel even the mods are total d*ckweeds, one of them especially that consistently uses racist and biggited slurs, but I guess it is a good source for useful information for our cars. I donated my $10 the first week I joined not only to prevent the a-holes from b*tching at me to donate, but to have access to the For Sale sections. $10 for all access on a website to me is well worth it.

Agreed!

Again, it wasn't like that even couple months before. It just became like that and now it's all under control. That PM was directly more towards those idiots who had been acting like complete assholes to the noobs. It was like a warning msg to them and it's working.

Finally, my tuner said I'm done with fueling and boosting part of tuning. He said we can start on fine tuning the timing.

FWIW, there are several variables that need to be changed in accordance with the boost changes, but just to make everything simple, my tune is currently targeting 18.5psi @ 3500rpm-5500rpm and tapering down to 16.5psi @ 6000rpm. All my datalogs show that the car is exactly following the commanded direction.

Also, my fuel pressure has been always above 1800psi @ WOT after upgrading the hpfp internal. It couldn't hold 1600psi @ WOT before the upgrade.

And, last night, I finally broke into the 250 g/s (mass airflow) region with no Knock Retard whatsoever.

My tuner said, there's a little bit more power can be squeezed out safely and stably by adjusting the timing slightly, so once that's fully dialed in. I'll be done with this for probably 1 year.

Then, I'll pick up an upgraded IC and long Downpipe around summer of 2012 and re-tune.

^ Wow, great progress news bro! Can't wait to hear how the car feels after the full tune.

Have you ever experienced any engine shutter with your MS3? I'm getting a tiny bit on my 6 and have been considering doing the coil pack spring stretch. Any tips/advice?

^ Engine shuttering? Hmm.. I don't think I had any problem with that. Have you researched through the MSF?

By the way, I didn't know this before, but when I have Flat Foot Shifting enabled and do the regular shifting @ WOT. My AFRs go super rich during the gear change and the feels pretty damn sluggish.. :duh:

Last night, I went WOT on 3rd til 6.3k rpm and regular shifted to 4th WOT, then the car felt like it was bogging down a little for a second. And my tuner told me, it's because I shifted regularly when the FFS is enabled.

FFS feels better than regular shifting anyway

Who is he? Is it Darksun?

Profanity is definitely allowed in MSF. You just gotta shrug it off. About 90% of time, they are being sarcastic.

MSF looks like a place for all the assholes, but when people get to know each other long enough, they are surprisingly caring.

If a long time regular member gets into an accident while tracking his car, MSF make an voluntary donation section just to help him out, since insurance won't cover any damages done within the tracks. And, usually those donation targets (in thousands) fill up pretty quickly.

But I can totally see people not liking the forum though. haha

Rodrigo = Lenny

He's the head guy at Nator HQ. He's actually the one who gathers Socal members at his pad once every month to help out installing everything. His garage has literally EVERYTHING.

Oh and he's the one who helped me out getting my hpfp internal in. He's pretty cool once you get to know him, but I know he shits on noobs all the time. haha

If you need anything, I can just keep my eyes on for you. Don't donate, if you are just doing it to get to F/S thread. And there's no MZ6 in that forum. But, if you donate 10 bucks, you get an access to a lot of naughty sub-section within the forum.

I don't have one yet, it's next on my list. There's so many things I've been planning on buying that have fallen through recently so I've been slacking on the must haves like the RMM and OCC. I cancelled my wheel order. I never felt 100% sure on my XXR wheel decision so I decided to back out. I have another better quality forged wheel in mind but it probably won't happen for a while. I almost got that used Corksport exhaust that was in the classifieds on Mazda6club and MSF but the guy didn't want to bargain at all and someone came with a full offer before I finally offered full asking price. So no wheels and no exhaust. I did get a sweet deal on a red annodized Mazdaspeed oil cap though!

I take the N-word pretty seriously. Actually any kind of racist or biggited slur is just wrong in my book. It's one thing if you're black and shooting the sh*t with your buddy or whatever, but if this dude isn't black and is just using those words to irritate people on a forum, he needs to be careful not to show his face around people that don't take kindly to that kind of talk.

I thought that cap comes with the car as stock, no??

Anyway, go with the JBR for RMM. He makes some quality parts with great customer service & great pricing. He didn't have it available when I was in the market for it, hence I have the one from CP-E.

As for the rims and exhaust, you will certainly find better deals in the future! No worries.

Took about 15 minutes. You just have to remove the coil packs, twist the ends off, remove the springs, stretch them out and reassemble everything back together. That's it. I never had a really bad shutter, but it was noticable at certain 2-3 shifts depending on RPM. So far I haven't been able to replicate it since stretching them.

Anyway, go with the JBR for RMM. He makes some quality parts with great customer service & great pricing. He didn't have it available when I was in the market for it, hence I have the one from CP-E.

As for the rims and exhaust, you will certainly find better deals in the future! No worries.
No the MS6 just has a regular ol' black plastic cap. My first dress-up piece lol.

I don't know if I'll find a better deal on the exhaust. It was in super condition and he was asking $575 shipped. New it's $699 + shipping. Oh well, that's what I get for cheaping out and trying to bargain with him. He wasn't having it haha.

I'll definitely look into the JBR RMM. I do remember reading good things about it. I'm sure he has different firmness levels, right? I'm still looking into the OCC too, looks like that one you linked me to is pretty legit.

If you are still looking for wheels, I have a set of 18x8.5" +43mm Work CR-Kais in bronze. I can have them powdercoated whatever color you want.

Sorry JS for jacking your thread.
