That sounds nice! Anytime you can get a 4 banger to sound deep and growly I'm a fan.

So when you getting it?!

CBE can wait.. because according to Swift USA.. Spec R Springs for Mazdaspeed3 is going to be released within a month!! A prototype springs was shipped from Japan couple weeks ago and just did testing on a fellow MSF member's car whom I met at the install meet a month ago, and it's finally done today.

I'll be placing an order of it as soon as it gets released!

So excited! I've been waiting for this springs for so long.....

Nice! Just the springs or with a set of upgraded shocks?

Sounds pretty good huh? Yeah, I think I'll get that one eventually.

I probably need an upgraded intercooler first since socal summer is coming..

Just installed the revised map along with the LC and FFS features enabled....

This is so cool... I set the value for LC @ 3000rpm via AccessTuner Race...

clutch in, put it on 1st gear, floor the gas pedal, rpm hold @ exactly 3000rpm, clutch out..... and it takes off!

haven't tried the flat foot shifting yet, but according to other members, it works like a charm! so

They will replace the springs on the coilovers I choose, still debating what to go with.

Yeah! It's pretty cool. I don't really street race these days, so I rarely use it. But when I do it, the car really takes off... I set mine up at 3k rpm, and people have been getting some great results with anywhere between 3k and 3.5k rpm.

I'll probably pick up a set of Koni's when they go on sale again next year or something to pair it up with the Swift springs.

I'm really trying to enjoy my car with what I have right now. The tuning part is really keeping me super happy these days.

that exhaust sounds pretty good.

Would you know anything about the drone noise though on highways speeds. I hate exhausts that fill the cabin with that. I wouldnt buy one that does that

Lol awww it's cute to see that first excitement over launch control
All evo's come with that from factory so imagine it taking off with awd also lol. That's why most rookie Evo owners blow their clutch in a month from using it.

I was so excited to try the LC and FFS for the first time. It was pretty fun.

And yes, if you check out Cobb forum, in the subie section, there are so many people whining about their blown clutches.......... YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG

LC is like the most minor feature of Accessport... you should get it like right now... lol Even for a stock car with no other mods, the Accessport gives you so much benefits.

Just some updates..

Since socal has been getting hotter and hotter recently, a tuner who is helping me out on dialing my maps suggested me to get two different maps for hotter days and cooler days.

My car really takes off during the nights when the ambient temp goes below 65 degrees, and my car acts a little sluggish and put out KRs during the hot days when the temp goes above 75 degrees. Hot temps + watered down gas quality in CA is a bad combination for turbocharged cars, so I decided to have two different tunes for my car.

And, as far as the power mods are concerned, my next power mods will be meth injection and upgraded TMIC and maybe a downpipe as well if I end up getting a good deal on it. BUT I'm going to get these when I hit somewhere around 20k miles on my car. It's still at 11k miles after owning for almost 2 years, so it's going to take awhile. Also, right before I get these mods installed, I'm going to clean up my engine to get rid of the carbon deposits. Because I'll be running meth + OCC, I won't get any carbon deposits after this clean up.

I average about 22mpg (70/30% City/Hwy), which I think is pretty good since I get on boost a lot. The handling is pretty direct and fast, and my only suspension mod is a RSB which is on medium setting. It's about 63% stiffer than the stock bar.

My only maintenance has been synthetic oils and mobil 1 oil filters, and I never had any problems with it so far. And my tires are holding it pretty well at like 50% tread left considering the amount of love abuse I put on them.

Overall, I'm just so happy with my car as is and can't wait to play with it more and more everyday. No regrets whatsoever of trading in my 3G TL for it.

Def sounds like you love your car.

I would suggest the two maps as well. When I was planning on running boost on the CL, I was going to run dual maps. One on 3-4psi and another for 7-8psi, that way the engine isnt always getting stressed. Im not sure if your setup allows for it to dump excess boost while on a lower tune, but it would help with gas mileage and overall longevity.

I wish the Js were easier to tune, like the factory boosted cars on the market. Its just not fair

Hot temps in SoCal? Seriously? Have you looked at the weather map lately??? Yeah, been in the 110s here, which I can definitely tell with my car, doesn't nearly have the pull it did when I first picked it up. I can't wait for winter now lol!

Glad to hear your mods/tunes are going so good! I wonder what launch control on my car would do? I still haven't dropped the hammer from a stand still yet. I'm scured.

Yeah, I really do.

And, I just got two different maps with first revisions. It's amazingly how different your car can feel with different maps. It's literally night and day. The power map (i know it's pretty cheesy title lol) is set to target 18.5psi and taper down to 17psi at 6k rpm. And the safe map for hotter days is to target only 16.5psi. All the other variables that need to be adjusted for this change have been done. Now I just have to do several datalogs for two different maps and see what I can do to them after.

And, yeah, it's hard to tune the cars that weren't F/I from the factory. Not because it's tempermatic in tuning, but the tuning solutions are not much available nor user friendly for newbies like me. And I guess not many cars can be beta tested as samples, so it really can only be done through special shops with tuning experiences for each individual cars.

I think the most interesting part of tuning is the process of learning/doing it by yourself.

110s????? My god, your car should hate you everyday.

LC works the best with AWD, and you probably know why.

I rarely use my LC because I don't find a need for it. I probably have used it two to three times after I got the feature. But it does feel pretty damn good when you drop it from 3k rpm.

Yeah, I've never launched my car from 3k before I tried this LC feature. But when I did, it felt very nice..... It just takes off, doesn't it?

I really want to get a new set of summer tires, but my stockers are holding it way too nicely, even though I spin them quite often... I think I can still go more than a full year before it's time to get a new set.. I'm looking to PC my stock rims in gunmetal when I get a new set of tires. It should look pretty sweet especially with a very mild drop.

Yea, the one cool thing about the AEM EMS that I plan on running is all I need to do is set the AFR targets and run wideband O2s and the EMS does the rest. Getting the EMS up and running though is going to be a bitch.

Dude, if you know anyone or see anyone on the forums getting rid of a set of 2nd gen MS3 wheels like yours, let me know ASAP. I love the design and they are a 1/2" wider than mine, so I'd probably run a wider 225 on them. I don't mind my stock wheels but the original owner put some serious rash on them and it drives me crazy looking at it. I've been searching CL for some kind of deal on anything but nothing goods come up. I would kill for some 2nd gen MS3 wheels in good condition.

By the way, on the way home, theres this long empty straightaway backroad wwhere i always do my 3rd gear datalog. Right when i was about to do a datalog pull, out of nowhere this modified RSX Type S flies in. It was one of those latest model. It sounded beautifully

Anyway, we did a quick race from 30-90. I was in my 3rd gear which is definitely not a gear i should have been and i was on my hotter day safe tune, still i walked him pretty easily. I put about 3 cars when we were done at 90 and braked hard. I dont know what he had but it did sound pretty damn nice. He gave me a thumbsup and took off. It was a good race.

A legit Big Turbo build (GT3071R) on 2nd Gen MS3...

385WHP
415WTQ
Tuned@20psi on 91 Pump Gas

http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...20/#post935908

It's a bolt on GT3071R BT Kit from ATP... only $1,895... and my current mods can shared as the supporting mods for this.. This is a pretty damn safe build too.

Maybe when I pay off the car and am completely out of warranty?

i was reading C&D's longterm review on your car and saw that your car doesnt come with a temp gauge? So you dont know when your car is warmed up? Given living down here it really doesnt matter for you, but to me its one of those things that just shouldnt be left out

I also just found out some hyundai's and Kia's dont even have maintenance lights! So you need to remember your schedule Seriously, how hard is it to put that in there. I think that was retarded. I was reading insidelines longterm blog, and hyundai's equus didnt have a maintenance light so they were late on it because they were waiting it to come on before they went to the dealer.

And then their kia optima should be going in for maintenance every 5kmiles for oil change and what not, and the maintenance light can only be set to its lowest of every 6k.

Weird things those hyundais and kias are doing I tell you haha

Yeah! That's a totally dumb move by Mazda. Leaving out the temp gauge on a turbocharged car.

It's great that almost everyone gets a tuning (Cobb AP) or monitoring device (Ultragauge) for cheap.

Mazda should have get rid of that tacky looking boost gauge and put a temp gauge on there.. The stock boost gauge isn't very accurate AND only goes up to 15psi, which becomes pretty useless when the car is even at stage 1 (targets 17 or 17.5 depending on the quality of gas)

Is that article on C&D the one that talk about torque steer for almost 4 pages?

And that Kia thingy made me go FAIL

Funny the MS3 comes with a boost gauge but no temp gauge and the MS6 comes with a temp gauge but no boost gauge! I'm so glad the previous owner installed a boost gauge in mine.
