New spark plugs are here!

Still another 2 weeks to get the hpfp internal...

I'll probably install both parts at the same time. Can't wait!

^ Nice! You're definitely going to dyno when you're done with all the mods, right?

Of course! After my hpfp and plugs, I'm going to get it dyno-ed soon.

I'm probably going to stop with performance mods for awhile. I'm very satisfied with the way my car pulls and there's still ALOT of hp/tq to be released just by tuning the map.

And, probably after a full year or so, I'll take it to a Cobb protuner shop and get it protuned!

My next plan is to get my headlights done at home and wait for Swift Springs to release its Spec-R springs! It's still like 6 months away, and I can definitely wait for it since it's one of the finest aftermarket springs out there.

I like how you want to put your car to good use

Have you done auto'x before?

I've heard its good to start off with that because you really learn how to control your car through that. Then step up to track once you got the handling down.

Just a suggestion.

Bought my car on September 2009. I've finally hit my 10k miles on it this morning. It's funny because I used to put almost 30k miles every year on my 3G TL.

I had zero problem with my car so far, and it's running very strong. Did 2 oil changes at 6k and 9k with pennzoil platinum 5w-30 with mobil 1 filter.

^ Congrats on reaching 10k miles! And great to hear it's been trouble free.

It must be a great feeling not racking up the miles. I average around 18-20k miles a year.

Just to make me feel better. Absolutely no other reasons.

And as you can see, I don't drive much, so it takes me about 5-6 months to go through 3k miles.

Yes! My first car was 2002 Accord and put on like 20k miles a year. My 3G TL was 2005 TL and put on about 30k miles a year...

I think I can finally sell my car for good price in the future!

I'm going to drive this thing for at least 4 years from now on.

And I really want to get the new MX-5 that's coming out next year, so I'll probably stay with Mazda for fairly long time.

Unless, Honda brings back the S2K. I doubt it though.

Any experience with this trans oil? People have been saying so much good things about this. Thinking of putting this on my car.

Ha nice!

I'm still somewhere around 7k...had for a 1.5 years now...damn.

I actually just took it for a quick spin because I have driven in it in almost 3 weeks and I was having withdrawls. I took on that little road I told you about for a quick accelerator pedal burying...almost no cars

I'd change the oil at least twice a year regardless of mileage, just to be on the safe side. A turbocharged engine is much harsher on oil than a naturally aspirated engine, in which case once a year (again, even if you drive zero miles all year) would probably be fine.

Anything Motorcraft would most likely be Ford or at least Ford licensed. Unless there are Ford products that use the same tranny as the one in your MS3 I'd stick to what the MS3 guys have to say about it.

That little road.... is awesome! I want to go back Only had time to go there once so far. It really is hard to get pulled over there!

Yeah, a turbocharged direct injection engine eats a lot of engine oil. Pretty much every MS3 owner changes out the oil every 3-5k miles.

Our transmission shares with Ford. A lot of MS3 guys are putting this on their cars and say it really changes the shifting feel to buttery smooooooth.

I was just trying to get some advice from AZ experts.

Just got back from this local Ford dealership. Wanted to pick up the ford motorcraft full syntheic transmission oil.

On my way out, I saw this beautiful graphite 5.0 GT parked near my car and started talking to this salemen about the car. He was pretty cool and offer me to test drive it.......... OMG the 5.0 really is an impressive car! My gf's younger brother had 2006 Mustang GT for almost 5 years, I had driven his car for many times. The new one is just completely different animal! And I expected very loud engine noise in the cabin, but surprisingly it was very quiet! The ride was pretty smooth and the handling was unexpectedly very neutral. The new 6-speed manual transmission was very short and smooth. I loved everything about it!

After test driving, I sat down with the saleman to talk about different trims and packages of the 5.0, and if I were to get one, it was about $32-33k, which I think is not bad at all.

I got out and went to the Mazda dealership hoping to test drive the MX-5. They said they don't have the manual transmission one and said they have no idea when another one is coming in. Goddamn Mazda has horrible customer service. I basically said f you and got out.

Today's lesson: The new 5.0 Mustang GT is AWESOME.

For track time, are you close to any? Many have open days and will even have instructors available. Also, several clubs, like the SCCA, will organize track events. Besides that, you may want to look to see if there are Mazda clubs around. I wonder if there are, say, Mazda club track days at Laguna Seca. That would be awesome.

Edit - The Mazda dealer does not have a manual MX-5? That. Just. Hurts. Buying an auto Miata should be illegal. Or at least punishable by severe ridicule.

Oh yeah, I think there's couple mazdaspeed clubs that have the track meets and stuff in LA area. I should look into them this summer. Thanks for the suggestion.

And yes, the dealer only had the automatic transmission ones.. very sad.. But the saleman did say they are getting couple manual trans MX-5s next week, so I'm going to check it out next week. The dealerships are like 5 minutes away from my house.

Ya...those hills are killers. One time I had my Civic with manual and going to this one very steep hills, half way my car stalled haahahhahaa.
