Help me replace my 2013 ILX.
I'm quickly being reminded why I stopped posting here.
Thanks for the advice yall.
In a few weeks Ill be test driving after the house is refinanced. I want the bank to see a nearly paid off ILX on record verse a more expensive car with a few more years of payments.
I wont lie I dont plan on posting in this thread again as it obviously has gone off course. Thanks for the input.

Dude, definitely do NOT make any big financial changes until the refi...
ANY.
No big payoffs, no credit card ups or downs...they want to see consistency otherwise they think you're on the verge of a financial mutiny.
PS...I'm not gonna state the obvious by ensuring you're not refinancing the house at all to get cash out to buy this car in any way shape or form?
Also, I think the responses have been pretty tame...and mostly on topic...people are just trying to give you good financial advice which may not be what you wanted to hear.

24, college grad, internship / part time job during school turned into full time job, so with his company for approx 3 + plus years with two promotions in that time. He has no problem spending money but always puts money in savings, he's been like this since his early teens.. A little over a year ago I made sure he signed up for his company's 401K with company match so his financial situation is solid, 790 credit score last time we checked.
Funny because he got my youngest son (16) a summer job at his company, and two weeks ago I just had the conversation with him about putting money in savings. So we agreed, his first check was his to do what he wants, and then after that he's putting most (70%) of it away since @ 16 he has no bills and I am not going to let him piss it away on nonsense.
Sorry for the long winded response.

Brotherman, I am not afraid or embarrassed about my fuck ups.
If anything, I messed up by using a block on the jack that slipped, while lowering. I had the correct jacking point.
And all we're trying to do is guide you. I want you to succeed!!!

Lighten up, Francis.
You came in saying you wanted a $40k RC. You sounded excited and pretty set on it. That's cool.
Almost everyone pointed out that, given what is known of your situation (that you yourself have put out there, no sleuthing required), that might not be the best idea. To note, most if not all of the guys giving you that advice are older, financially stable, and have experienced a thing or two in the past. Their (our) advice is really trying to prevent you from arriving at a(nother) undesirable auto/financial situation.
Then you came back with "nah, I mean a $20k car, and this other stuff too..." And that's cool too.
But if you're asking for advice but then not listening to any of it given, then I think you'll find everyone giving the advice is as frustrated as you are with hearing it.
Good luck. You'll be fine.

Jon.. I drove the Q50 3.0T.. it was peppy and handled pretty well.
I went up and down a mountain in one going xxx (vin diesel) speeds.
It was super cheap inside and the dual screens are a fucking gimmick.
Seriously, screen design is complete horseshit. I'm sure owners get used to it, but bleh.
Anyways.. if ILX is luxe to you, Q50 will fit the bill.
From a performance aspect, it's fun.. lots of passing power.

@usdmJON, @ssjoeboe9 is selling his right sick TSX.
It's in your budget and would leave a few dollars over for some crisps and a couple tanks of gas:

You can even read his build thread to know the full history. If you buy it, then two AZine bros would get what they want. That's kismet.

I doubt the ILX is near paid off.
I'm guessing the lease buyout was around 20k
20k @ 3.5% for 60 months is about $364
Baseline the buyout period 1.5 years ago..
If the ILX really is 12k.. I'd say he owes more than it's worth currently.

He was probably under water when he agreed to buy the car.
Not in this thread. And oh, would you look at that... A mod seems to have deleted the instance that never existed anywhere else either.

Fer Reals though... I was just thinking as I was getting a drink of water: how about a Fusion Sport?
I got a Fusion for a rental a while back and totally didn't hate it. I didn't know about the Sport until a coworker pointed it out... But that might be a nice ride.

That, and he would likely get 7-8k on trade in, if the car is worth 12k.

the problem is the Fusion sport is new and expensive. Right back in the same boat

would be a stupid way to blow cash.

it up Mods
