and this crazy fk who did a doughnut at company function at the zoo...where i thought i was the first person there...
turns out my entire department including manager and director and supervisor...
I got a stern talking to...
some people said I was coolest though.
This is actually true.. it's such a low revver and throttle response is actually sluggish (around 40-50% is where it's at).
It's easy to get a jump on a V.. but a chase is a race.

Also.. friend has a manny 370z (stock) and wanted to see how they measured up. Too easy.. butt the best thing is.. we hit a corner at speed. The V was freaking flat.. no oversteer, yet the Z kicked out a bit. You could hear the tires fighting to stay compliant.
J ... I feel like I haven't heard this story and I am so sad that I haven't heard it before
I'd pay money for a picture of their faces after you did that
J has the best stories.. really.. we lost our shit on that one.

That was with an auto too.. I'm sure the 6MT would have been quicker and faster
There's no way. You think the 6MT is quicker/faster? Hmmm... I'm curious now. The auto is setup for performance driving, so I dunno.. I guess maybe in the hands of a skilled driver.
Auto is setup for performance driving.. are you sure you don't drive an Audi?
We're not talking about a DCT here.. the auto top speed is in fifth at 178.. that's no slouch..
but I'd be willing to bet the manuel is a little faster in the straights having taller gears in that range

true, but can you even hit 178mph on the ring? Not many straight ways to max out on. Overall, I'd imagine the auto shifts faster than the 6mt can. Once again, in the right hands the 6mt might be faster, but for 99.9%, aka everyone else, it likely isn't.
i also don't see why they'd use the slower car to lap the ring for its official lap times.
I wouldn't consider at IS300 based strictly on how absolutely dreadful the gas mileage is. It's not even a performance car but it sure as hell is as thirsty as one.
True the 5MT IS300 is a thirsty car, but I remember it being a fun one too.
Curious if it'd be better with a 6MT.
We're all going to buy IS300s and swap in J32s for fuel efficiency..
We're doing this rite? LMK.. about to hit Buy it now..
F**k it. I'm in!
Actually went to test drive a 2001 IS300 at a used car lot yesterday, but the place was closed for the week. I think the owners must be on vacay ("Gone Fishin'"). I also noticed that the IS300 they listed online was nowhere in sight. Hmmmmm.
