And with the 2JZ, tons of aftermarket support.

Shame they never offered the Sportcross with a manual, same with the TSX wagon.

IS300 is tits.. I'd definitely own one as a beater / project car.
This is still one of my fave vids..

I've got a sweet spot for the OG IS300/Altezza. The newer styles do less and less for me.

I should buy one some day. Just for funsies.

Jon should buy one.

Funny that you mention it. I've had my eye on a couple of IS300s (XE10), which can be had for $4-$5k w/about 150k miles on the ODO.... Seem like they'd be a little underpowered, but have yet to test drive any....

while there is a major difference when coworker goes from 400hp to whatever the IS300 has, the fuel usage is the same...and tires.
so, coworker probably isnt saving money but is keeping the miles off the GT. I would just daily the mustang.

Agreed. As nice as the GTs are, they're literally everywhere. Like, if you were to throw a stone in any random direction, you're likely to hit at least 2 mustangs.

Definitely didn't feel underpowered when I drove my aunt's. They handle pretty well stock as well. She had Goodyear Eagle F1 on hers, which were a big upgrade over the trash Potenzas that were OEM.

Tell your coworker he should trade in the stang for an Audi.. seems more fitting.

well.. that warranty will time out eventually... and having low miles doesn't necessarily mean it will drive longer without issues.

either way... if he's worried about it, he can always dump it before warranty ends...

If I had a stang in warranty period, I'd drive the shit out of it.

Funny thing is.. he will take it easy on the car while under warranty... but once it's off, he'll start hooning it because it's old. dafuq.

I didnt understand it either.
he has two of the same types of daily drivers...the mustang can do everything the IS300 can, and even better.
I didnt question him, just told him congrats!

so, the 3K and taxes and tires and the same fuel usage...
he didnt gain anything there.

Shit.. performance to $$ wise.. a Stang GT or Camaro SS is tough to beat.
I think the finishes are nicer than an ILX too..

I can't comment on the Camaro, but the Mustang? Man, I was super surprised to see what a nice car it was overall. Some hard plastic on the interior but overall it was really nice and its a sub 40k car, pushing 425hp from the factory. Gotta expect some give and take.

Dang. Good eye. Looks like I-45 down to G-Town. There was one part that caught my eye and you're spot on...

Check it.
