The ad says it's by CAV, who are one of the better GT40 replica builders in the industry.
http://www.cav-america.com/Models.html
$80,000 though, does seem a bit cheap for what is essentially a GT40 targa, something the other replica companies never actually build. But, I imagine it comes down to most people wanting a GT40 probably want it as a coupe, or that those who do want the roadster, want it in the style of the original 5.

I've encountered quite a few client cars at work that have pushed well beyond 150,000 miles without too many issues besides wear and tear, & see some of them every so often with even more miles tacked on. The older GS' seem to be the most problematic with really bad vibrations/loud idle over 120,000. Sort of feel like race cars.

I drive a Subata.

Here's an interesting observation...
In my household there are 3 cars.
2000 Acura TL
2008 Honda Accord V6
2010 Toyota Corolla
I think I've observed the following regarding to headlights. My dads corolla might have the best headlights out of all three cars with the acura coming in last. The acura may be due to buying $35 5k headlights from some vendor here? Not the $100 phillips one from the dealer. Anyway it still surprises me the corolla is probably better than the accord.
Havent driven them back to back but its something I noticed.

Whoa
I've always loved the CLK-GTR. I haven't seen a picture of a Roadster in a very very long time. Cool fact on Wikipedia:
I've always loved the CLK-GTR. I haven't seen a picture of a Roadster in a very very long time. Cool fact on Wikipedia:
In total, 26 CLK-GTR production road versions were constructed. Of these, 20 are coupes and six are roadsters. Two of these were equipped with RHD steering: one coupe (silver exterior/tartan interior) and one roadster (dark silver exterior/magenta interior).[3] These were constructed for Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei.[4] Both RHD cars were auctioned on 28 October 2009 by RM Auctions in London.[5] The roadster fetched £616,000 ($973,834 USD) and the coupe £522,500 ($824,609 USD).[6]

I'd be happy to just get the 6 Wagon in gas form over here.
I'd be working my way toward a TSX Wagon, if it were available with a 6MT.
If the 6 Wagon comes here with a manual, it might get some serious consideration from me. As long as it isn't a dog.

I know I'm a bit late to the party... but is anyone else amazed that this Lamborghini crossed over that grass median, into oncoming traffic, and hit a 2013 GTR?! Out of ALL the cars in the world it could have possibly hit... those two cars were on the same highway at the same time. I know they aren't too un-common in FLa, but I just found that pretty mind boggling.

yeah, I had the same doubt. I mean, what are the odds of that happening by accident... very very low.

Porsche May Nix the Manual Soon
Ferrari has already done so, Lamborghini has too, and now it appears Porsche will also drop the manual gearbox entirely within a few years' time.
With nearly 80 percent of buyers opting for the PDK dual-clutch gearbox over a manual transmission for popular models like the 911 and Cayman, Porsche has recently admitted outright that the conventional manual could be dropped entirely in just a few years. Speaking with The Sydney Morning Herald, Porsche’s R&D chief Bunno Brandlhuber stated that "There are some Porsche enthusiasts who prefer a manual and we will continue to offer this in the meantime.... But maybe one day it will become irrelevant."
Porsche Cayenne S Diesel by Techart Cars That Won't Die: Bristol Blenheim 3 Audi Reveals A3 E-Tron for Geneva
With the ratio of PDK to manuals sold continuing to rise in dual-clutch's favor, and rumors that even the track-focused GT3 will go PDK in its newest iteration, how much time has the three-pedal gearbox got left in Stuttgart? It may be too early to say, but legendary rally champion and Porsche test driver Walter Rohrl recently said that he "doesn’t need a manual gearbox anymore. The PDK shifts perfectly and I don’t have to do anything."

Rolls with a Viper motor................

OK... so its not a Viper. But it has a Viper engine? In a Rolls Royce? Yeah, REALLY.
I haven't been posting all that much [photos at least] of what we have been up lately, primarily because I am buried in projects... but this one is too cool to not post, and it doesnt splash any "secret sauce" around .
Long story short, we were contracted about a year ago to supply a Viper powertrain, manufacture or modify a number of components for "show" [Polished parts, fuel rails, etc] and build a standalone Pectel Engine Management System and custom wiring harness for a 1930 Rolls Royce V-10 Resto-Mod, and then complete the installation on location in West Michigan.
I have just received some up to date pictures now that the paint and interior has been completed. The car is a full restoration with many custom pieces built on a tube frame chassis, and uses a 2004 Viper powertrain. This car was built to be a driver, and all of the problematic original parts have been redesigned or replaced. More or less, it is an original body and design mixed with a new-tech chassis and drivetrain. This car even has heat, A/C, and all of the bells and whistles that go along with professional motorsports electronics.
The car will be shown at the Detroit Autorama in March for anyone interested and local! It is currently at 99%, with just a few minor thins to finish.

By the time I'm in the market for a new vehicle with a manual gearbox, there won't be any to find
Maybe I should sell my TL and get a 911 now! Who cares about debt?!?!
