All I'm gonna say is, the last thing you want associated with a $200k+ supercar is bean counters.

In a car like the Corvette, which is supposed to be a bargain sports car with near-exotic performance in the first place, parts bin digging with steering/radio/navi/HVAC controls only lends to the perception that it's a cheap car as far as quality goes. Almost unacceptable in a marque like Lamborghini IMO. The distinction here is visibility, as Tyler has mentioned.

I'd like to think quite a bit of suspension tech between the R8 V10 and Gallardo are shared, not to mention the powerplants, but I'm fairly confident that they drive quite differently. And those things aren't as readily perceptible to the naked eye or even your bare hands.

Where do you draw the line? Would you mind if the Gallardo had the same seats out of an A4? Same steering wheel as a Jetta? Or the same center stack setup as a Passat? Details matter.

trying to say this in the 'nicest' way possible - remember there are many older people buying these cars. and older people have lots of tapes. and they like listening to their tapes. and they don't know how to convert them to mp3's. or they don't have the time for that. so they like having tape decks.
The problem is that in my brother's friend's Gallardo, he IS older, but he wasn't using it to listen to tapes. He plugged in a cassette to AUX adapter and listened to his iPod through that

it was just a side note anyway, just a thought that occurred to me.

No space for an intercooler? Isn't that flat-4 supposed to sit really low?

perhaps to not step on the toes of the WRX STI and/or to keep with the spirit of a very straight forward and pure sports car?

Completely different note, can't wait til' we move to the new location next year. 700+ cars incoming in the next 3 weeks & our backlot is a cluster ****.

F150 vs Ram... what's the scoop on these two? We need a pickup for business and promotion purposes. Looked at a Tundra as I liked my 07 but it's virtually unchanged.

yea, i sat in a fully loaded EcoBoost at the local autoshow. It was a great looking truck, had a well laid out, beautiful, interior, and is big enough to haul 5 people plus whatever gear/cargo you need to carry.

Ive never really been a big Dodge guy

I'd consider the F-150 over the Ram as well.

No, it doesn't use a dogbone style. It's hard to find an image of the OEM mount but this is pretty much how it is:

Yep, I have the ST3 package so it comes with the full-leather Recaros. Can't wait! Did the ST at the auto show have the partial-leather insert Recaros (ST2) or the full-leather Recaros? (ST3)

2 interesting cars at work today. Didn't even know the first existed, but I guess it's still pretty rare in a way.

Spent some "quality" time with this one, CLS63 finished with the designo options; matte white w/ deep white & black interior. Beautiful car, very rare option. And dat sound.

Can anyone recommend a good car jack and jack stands?

Also, I'm buying some winter tires since the ST comes with the summer performance Goodyear Eagle F1s. Any suggestions? Tire Rack has:
  • Dunlop SP Winter 3D @ $249/ea
  • Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 @ $228/ea
  • Pirelli Winter Sottozero Seire II @ $215/ea
  • Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 @ $203/ea

And Discount Tire Direct has:
  • Yokohama W.drive @ $195/ea
  • Falken Eurowinter HS439 @ $191/ea

And of course, I checked with my dealer and they have the Blizzaks as an option, but they priced them at $280/ea mounted, balanced, and installed (retail $234/ea).

I'm thinking of also checking places like Costco to see what they offer, but I need to make a purchase very soon since the car comes in this week.

My buddy has a ~3 ton Arcan jack just like that, except its really old. Works great, low profile too.

I think I am leaning towards the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3. I need better wet/dry cold performance than deep snow, so this should be a good choice. $959.12 shipped from TireRack.
