Since you guys wanted outside shots for one, here's the C63 AMG that's been in my hands every time the owner comes in. A couple revs to 3,000RPM makes this car sound so intimidating, it scares me.

After coming home today, I decided to see what these retail for being at the "bottom" of the AMG barrel price-wise, & they retail for $60,000, same as a IS-F surprisingly. Doing a bit of finance homework, I figured that with the extra hours I've been given b/c we're so short-handed, I could actually afford the financing on one for 5 years. Then I checked the insurance on the car & it turned out that I probably wouldn't have any money left over to live on. It's fun to dream, though.

However, after going through it all, a decent E92 wouldn't actually be out of the picture.

Looks like around $4,000 a year for me according to State Farm just from a quick fill out, but I'd have to actually call my agent up & go through the whole Q&A process while he calculates it.

The car is out of my range easily though at the end of all expenses added up, so I'm definitely not considering it enough to do that 'less I wanted to live in it for the next 5 years.

So i just got back from a drive through Mulholland Drive. Its up in the hollywood hills where all the rich people are, and also its an AMAZING road.

First time for me going there, so I didnt take it too fast, first thing i noticed about the road was that there are quite a few sharp corners. It was so noticeable to me that i took the corners faster where i would end up in a hill than the ones where i would end up off the cliff and its either you crash into a hill, go off the cliff, go into a house or their fence, or into the opposite lane.

Luckily i had one incident where i just understeered a bit into the opposite lane, and up ahead i saw a car pulled over and i thought it was a cop and it scared the shit out of me haha.

I did see a cop on the way back through the drive, luckily i slowed down when i saw lights so no biggy.

Ohh yea next best thing and something very distracting, is the view. The view is awesome, my pic doesnt do it justice AT ALL. Theres very few spots to pull to the side where there is no houses, i found one that didnt have trees blocking the view.

I wanna keep driving through this road to learn it so it can be more fun! And just pray theres no cops....

my one ugly photo

heres the part i drove

I kind of liked the new 2013 Civic
Rear reminds of Chevy Cruze but looks like front and rear will sit better on the road

speedemon, that pic of yours looks like from NFS Carbon.. 2G version

Funny thing is me and my friends were watching videos of people on Mulholland Drive. Definitely a road I want to drive on one day.

There's a few back roads up the hills around here, but they're not nearly as well known as Mulholland. and they're kinda scary to drive on when it gets cold out... if you go high enough there's snow.

damn watch out dude, in the beginning i guess the sprinklers were one and water was all over the road, when i came to that section i was like ohh shit, just let off the gas gently on the brake, luckily it wasnt part of any turn or anything. Drove a bit till i figured all the water was off my tire and was back at it again (although not too quick since i did not know this road at all and there are a lot of blind corners and you dont know how tight it is)

Same to you man. A cautionary tale...

I figured I knew the back roads well enough.... it got to the point where I knew every corner before I even rounded the one before it. But I was an idiot, drove at night and was overconfident... I was too busy looking ahead and didn't see a patch of gravel. I went sideways in my Integra

That was a long time ago, but I know now to tone it back in unforeseen conditions, even if it's warm, dry weather. Good thing nothing happened, but you never know. It's not like someone's gonna break out a broom and clear the road.

I'm the same way with the backroad near my house that i can drive through in my mind haha.

Its never happened to me, but thats been one thing i've always been scared of, but just went on with it. Water/gravel on the road. I need money and a new car so i can go to a track lol

I've made some comments about not liking aftermarket wheels on exotic cars somewhere around these parts... saying that I'm a purist and prefer to have the OEM wheels on there, as the manufacturer intended. Well I just gotta say, ADV.1 sure makes some nice wheels - wheels that do look quite fitting for these cars.

and their pics make it that much more enticing

I'd switch them out, after i get tired of the OEM ones, but i'm not sure how much i'd ever mod a supercar.... i probably wouldnt do much at all i think.

On a sort of similar topic:

Why do many people with a dedicated set of winter wheels and tires use all-seasons during the warmer months?

This has always baffled me, since all-seasons are by definition a compromise. Why not run a sticky or grand-touring summer tire?

They probably just want to preserve their warm weather wheels and dont care too much for an all out summer tire.

Its stupid IMO. As you said, all-seasons are a compromise.

Drove a first gen. Boxster today w/ the 5-speed transmission.

The first thing I noticed is how far the clutch in them has come to the 6/7-speed manuals now available. I don't think I've ever been in a car that required the pedal to really come 2/3rds off the floor as opposed to 1/3rd in others I've driven. Definitely nothing like the 997 from a few weeks back. I initially thought it may be slipping, but had no problem with it after a couple minutes; just the way it is in those cars I guess. The newer clutches though are much easier to re-adjust to.

As for the car itself, I was taken back a bit by how smooth it still was for having 70,000 miles on the odo. Easy shifts, nice steering feel, though it rode a little rough compared to the '13 Boxster I had driven before, but that's a given.

Whoever owns it obviously has taken great care of it. Would take me forever to adjust to the clutch in traffic though.

I've always liked the GT3 RS more than the Turbo

Feel the same about that kermit green color. The white/red is too plain by comparison.

Driving to USC from home, about a 35 mile drive and maybe 15 miles in my car overheated got stuck on the fwy for a bit

luckily i was near an exit where a friend lived so i slowly made my way over to my friends house.

Cars now at a mechanic we know, gonna get whatever needs to be fixed. My dad thinks it's both the radiator and thermostat that have gone bad.

I like how it's more than likely not even his car, either.

Driven a couple XFs at work, but today was my first in the XJ. Similar interior quality, but the XJ just feels nicer. And the dash is pretty badass.

good news. you guys don't have to be envious of my friend who had ordered the SLS Black Edition anymore. he has decided to hold off on that for now, he is thinking of settling for a MP4-12C instead, and saving a lot of money.
