I could never lease with the mileage. Never made financial sense. However, I can see the benefit to those with no real commute and the new car every few years.

Well when you "buy" the car, the first 3-5 years (depending on the loan length) you dont actually own the car either, The bank does

I would think so considering they are exactly the same. The only difference that I know of is that the 05-06 center console have the passenger airbag on/off light near the clock.

Anyways, who wants a supercharged NSX?

Terrible pictures but it looks pretty clean.

Always seems funny to me to see "I don't drive this car hard" in ads like these.

Hmm, I have a S/C NSX, I think I'll drive it like a granny.....right.

I know this is early, but well I always do this.

My guess is in about a year, maybe a ltl less I'll be in the market for a new car well assuming i get a job i'm looking for in my field and not working at mcdonalds if i cant find one....

anyway. My guess is I'd be spending anywhere from 20-30k.

I'm toying with the idea of what i can get. And honestly I dunno what my needs are, but i have a few requirements
-manual (it will be my first manual car, so i'd be learning to properly drive a manual in that)
-fun to drive

those are really my only requirements. Live in socal dont need to worry about weather. Coupe or sedan doesnt really matter to me. Obviously more practicality is better, but i'm completely fine with tradeoffs.

Cars I want right now:
GTI, gotta see what the mk7 would be like, but i'm sure i'll like it.
FRS/BRZ
E46 M3 - I really want this, but i need to research reliability and maintenance on this car. I dont wanna be at the dealer all the time, especially with this being my only car and having a job and all... ohh and would this car be harder to learn how to drive a manual with??

what would you choose and if you know other better choices go at it

If you really want a manual, get a used (i.e. - sub $2k car) and learn, learn, learn! Then get a shiny new car you can enjoy and not stress about learning to drive in SoCal traffic.

If you're wanting to learn to drive a manual, the FRS/BRZ would be a pretty solid choice; Japanese cars tend to have pretty durable clutches.

The M3 is not a hard car to learn in, but you really need to take into account the wear you'll be putting on the clutch as you learn to drive it. If this is the car you want to learn a manual in, make absolutely sure the clutch/transmission has a lot of life left in it.

Last thing you'll want is finally getting it down & then paying for a new clutch altogether.

that is true. I mean I've driven manual cars in parking lots and once on the road for a ltl. The only thing i'm not comfortable with is hills. I roll back a ltl. I know you can use hand brake as well.

Anyway that is an option.... I'd say in the summer but I dont wanna add a car on my parents insurance. You can't rent cars with a manual over here can you???

yea you make a good point. If i want an E46, its better i go with civics method haha.

this kinda makes me want an e46 more. Especially since i trust chris harris and what he says about cars.

Jesus, I cannot warn you away from the E46 strongly enough.

Unless you find one with a stack of receipts for maintenance and I do mean a stack, don't do it. Unless you find a car that is exhausted from ass raping the seller's wallet don't do it.

Look at the Mk7 GTI, the Focus ST, the FR-S, and maybe a used 370z or Mustang 3.7 6MT.

What about a 335? Or if you go out with friends a lot, this might suit you better:

yea after talking to my friend i'm already moving away from the E46 option I want that car so bad though, just probably not a right decision financially as my first car with my first job. I like the ST, but I just like the GTI more haha, which is why i'm hoping they make it more comparable to the ST. I can never see myself driving a mustang no matter how much i like it. 370z seems compelling but i think i'd take an frs/brz

horrible Lambo crash the other day... friends of a guy I "know" on another board...

http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/02/0...ini-crash.html

2 killed in Lamborghini crash

LAKELAND, Fla. -- Authorities say two people died in central Florida when the Lamborghini they were riding in hit another car.

Lakeland police say 24-year-old Tiffany Beene was driving the green 2008 Lamborghini Sunday afternoon when she crossed over the grass median into oncoming traffic, where she hit a white 2013 Nissan. Beene and her passenger, 24-year-old Samuel Jonathan Hampton, were transported to a nearby hospital, where they died that evening.

The Nissan's driver, 43-year-old Chi Yan Chan, was critically injured and remained hospitalized Monday. Chan's passenger, 22-year-old Tan Phan, was also hospitalized, but the injuries weren't considered life-threatening.

Officers reported that debris from the wreck was found nearly 1,000 feet from the point of impact. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Note to officers, I'm guessing speed had something to do with it.

Wait...she hit a GT-R?! Now THAT was a bad day for some insurance companies (yes, I know I'm being a little heartless about the people involved, but it goes without saying that THEY had a bad day).
